I wish I could give Teeny Tots 10 stars because both Mrs. Tina and Miss. Tammy deserve gold medals…read morefor everything that they do for the kids. As a first time mom, I had a really hard time looking for a daycare and trusting someone that I don't know with my baby. After my friend referred me to Teeny Tots, I went through a thorough interview process and had a tour of the preschool. Mrs. Tina took extra time to show us around and answer all our questions, she also played with my son and he felt comfortable around her. We gave Teeny Tots a try and that was the best decision we made for our baby. My son attended Teeny Tots for 3.5 years and it became his second home. This preschool has a strong emphasis in teaching and developing the age appropriate skills including emotional intelligence, alphabet, colors, shapes, counting, art, public speaking, etc, but most importantly it provides a safe and loving environment for the little ones. I love that every day/week has a specific schedule and all the kids are following the routine. Mrs. Tina and Mrs. Tammy organize fun events throughout the year including birthday and holiday celebrations, water play days, field trips, movie nights and even family events. They always go above and beyond to make every kid feel special. I cried after I dropped off my son at Teeny Tots the first time when he was 18months old and I cried again the day he graduated from there. I am so grateful to amazing Mrs. Tina and Miss Tammy for everything they did for my son and I truly hope that his "big school" teachers will be as great as they are because Teeny Tots set up the bar really high. We are so lucky that our son's school journey started at Teeny Tots because it is truly special.

Enrolling our then 2 yr old here was the best decision as we've seen her grown to be independent, social and kind. One thing that amazed us was with Miss Tina and Miss Tammy's extensive background in early childhood education. They put 10000% effort in their program and make each learning experience fun! The class sizes are not too big and ratios are nice making it an ideal setting. Hours of operation is also very ideal for parents with long hours. The teachers take time to share highlights of our child's day which we love to hear all the time! Their cleaning standard is also golden as they disinfect and deep clean the premises routinely which put our minds at ease. This takes up extra time for them too but they only, truly want the best for the kids. We had nothing but the most wonderful experience at Teeny Tots. My husband and I highly encourage parents looking for care to check them out!

Over the past two years we have watched him grow, learn, and gain so much confidence thanks to the amazing teachers. Also, all the teachers in Room 3 are incredibly kind, patient, and truly care about the children. They create such a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where kids can learn and thrive. The admin team and the other teachers are also so sweet and welcoming. Everyone at the school has always been supportive and caring. As parents, it means everything to know our child is loved and supported every day. We are so grateful for everything they have done, and we will always recommend this school to other families.

He's also been pinned down and hit by other children. He's come home crying, missed a lot of school and woke up crying from having nightmares because of the bully. They started out as friends and then the bully began to get physical. It continued to escalate over time even after my wife spoke to the teachers who had no idea what was going on in the first place. My child kept getting hit and bullied so my wife asked the teachers to separate the kids. Then, our son got punched in the face. We were so patient and so understanding. My wife was a die hard supporter of our sons teachers in room 1. We trusted these people, this school, with the safety of our son. My wife reached out for help/answers multiple times, but they assured her everything was under control. However, they NEVER told the other kid's family and then lied to them when my wife had to contact one of the parents. They did not keep our son safe and he did not feel safe. They robbed the other family the ability to help their child navigate through any developmental needs by keeping this a secret. The owner and staff admitted guilt, wrongdoing and they apologized to us for concealing the matter from the bully's family - the history and the severity of the situation - that spanned six months. They waited until the end of the year to say that the bully was leaving the school - that was their solution to our little guy getting bullied and hurt for so long. The teachers in room 1 promised us that they would tell the bully's parents the truth but that never happened. We told them we'd finish the school year (last two weeks) and then remove him indefinitely. They apologized and said they were sad to see us leave the school but they understood we had to save our child. They apologized for not acting sooner. It could've been so simple, but it was too little too late. After my son got punched in the face on Monday, two weeks before school ends, more violence ensued on Tuesday. He got a bloody nose some how on Wednesday and, after our parent-teacher conference earlier that day, the teachers were distant to him. He cried and refused to go to school the rest of the week. He didn't understand why his teachers told him to go "bye bye" as we had not explained how he would be uprooted from his regular routine. The teachers and the room mom deleted my wife from the classroom app out of nowhere. That signified that regardless of the apologies and admission to being complicit in violence against our son - we were no longer welcome. My wife wrote a yelp review and the head of PTA threatened her and my 4 year old saying that he will be blocked entry into any other school in the area. She threatened our family saying will be blacklisted from the community and face legal action as well as other consequences. This grown woman, the head of BCM PTA, threatened my son and bullied my wife after our son has already suffered so much physically, emotionally and mentally. There has been an outpour of moms reaching out to my wife. Some genuine and some pretending to care while sharing their horror stories of Room 1 violence yet avoiding to be seen with our family in public. This school BCM, the teachers in room 1 and the head of PTA are an embarrassment to the private montessori education system. Don't punish my wife for protecting our child. Don't punish my 4 year old child for wanting to be friends with his classmates even if they bully and beat him.

What I loved most was the love and care that Michelle and her team have for the kids and their families. Michelle is really intentional about building community among the families, and that turned out to be a beautiful source of support as we all navigated the highs and lows of raising little ones together. Michelle is also thoughtful and brings a real wealth of expertise to creating learning experiences for a multi-age group. My daughter loved learning about the life cycles of butterflies and ladybugs -- they actually grew them and watched them take flight! When the kids studied different types of transportation, they painted a big refrigerator box yellow and turned it into a school bus. Beyond the hands-on learning, the kids build cooperation skills, learn how to care for their space, and develop real self-reliance and confidence. We can't recommend Michelle's Backyard highly enough. If you're looking for a warm, thoughtful, community-centered place for your child to learn and grow, this is it.
