The coffee shop is a bonus. I had never been in Bonney Lake before meeting my now husband of 5 plus years, and I have developed the habit of coming here whenever anything happens in my life. Everything is expensive these days, but I come to Ben Franklin to walk the aisles and feel my feelings. I come here when I am sad, scared, happy, excited. Through celebrations and losses, milestones and ordinary days, it has been a constant place of comfort, creativity, and possibility. I do not usually let staff at any store affect my day one way or another. They have their own lives and stories that I know nothing about... every employee I have encountered here has been kind, helpful, and genuinely pleasant. My child is growing up with paintbrushes instead of iPads, with crochet hooks and yarn, fabric, puzzles, sewing machines, and handmade keepsakes that become symbols of memory. She is learning how to create, imagine, and build with her own hands. A big part of that is because this place exists. We truly love Ben Franklin Crafts. Please do not go anywhere.

That said -- this is not mass produced Chinese glass, the items here are either made by local artisits or American made and their prices reflect that. So they really wanted to know if you got what you were looking for! I was impressed. Their supplies of sewing machines and vacuums was pretty extensive. I was also impressed with the amount of classes that they offer to learn how to sew at any age. It's a large building with a lot of products and plenty of sales people that were knowledgeable and willing to help. I did take my old vacuum cleaner in to have it serviced, and no judgment passed. They just did a great job.

She tried to help me with the needle stuck in my 8 month old, $900 Babylock machine but ended up taking it in back to get help fixing it. When she brought it back the needle was out but I was told a new needle couldn't be installed and that I'd need to leave my machine for service which would take 3 weeks because their service department is very busy (no kidding!) When I said that was too long and asked what else could be done the sales associate left and came back with her Manager. He immediately began trying to determine what I had done to cause this problem, including asking me if I'd purchased the machine new. I made it clear this was the first time the needle had been changed, so he then switched tactics, attempting to blame me for not having changed the needle sooner. He was rude and unpleasant and treated me as if I was a child who deserved to be punished. He easily fixed the problem, reiterated what I might have done to cause the problem, then marched off. This 'manager' needs some lessons in how to treat customers- his actions have really changed my opinion of Quality Sewing and Vacuum.
