Out side of the great customer service I love visiting the shop to get their Homemade incense. I live all the way in Monroe Washington, but I will drive all the way down just to replenish my incense once or twice a month and to overall just enjoy the great vibes of the shop. This place provides exactly what it advertises: GOOD VIBES! A friend recommended I check out this location, and I was NOT disappointed. They have a lovely selection of rocks, and cleansing sage and incense. But they also have some pretty wonderful staff. Because everything was labeled and easy to navigate, I spent about 3x's what I'd planned to, but it was absolutely worth it. They will answer your questions and make recommendations. I'm loving the new location inside the mall. They now have more diaspora apparel offerings, which are absolutely beautiful. There are some independent shops that just stand out for one reason or another and then there are stores like Positive Vibes that stand out for so many reasons. If you weren't feeling a positive vibe when you enter here you will when you leave. We walked in and were greeted by one of the most friendly and down to earth people I've ever met in a shop. Abron is one of the owners of Positive Vibes and he runs the business with his wife. Positive Vibes is a very eclectic shop with a lot of items from Africa and the Caribbean. When we were there they were playing some excellent Reggae. We were wondering around checking out the incense and oils. I am a total fan of incense and they had some of my favorite types here. They have done you can buy prepackaged or just grab different kinds and put them in a bag way cheaper than a lot of other places. The quality of the incense is excellent and we bought three different boxes as well as a bag of mixed incense. I was interested in some of the oils that they had and I wasn't sure what might interest me but Abron totally knew what I liked based on my like of Sandalwood. He let me try on some of the oils and I ended up getting the Egyptian musk. It had a unique and earthy smell to it. What I liked Bout the oils at positive vibes is that they are not "watered down." They're very strong. They also come with the small toll on balls already with the oils. The prices were actually cheaper than done other places I have been and I actually preferred sone of the oils here compared to other shops. There was also a sale of Buy two body oils and get one free. If you're into unique clothing, you need to check this place out. They have a large selection of beautifully colored clothes. Abron explained a lot about them to me. Take some time and chat with him. He's full of information and doesn't mind explaining what's what. They have a lot of hats and shorts as well as some skirts. There were some crystals and stones as well. If you see one you like, they also sell stone holders as well so you can wear your stone. They have meditation candles and coconut blend candles. I also noticed they had several Kinaras. Kinara is a Swahili name for a candle holder. This type of candleholder is used to place three green, and three red on the side of one black candle in the middle. Each of the seven candles represent the seven principles of Kwanza. There is a small book section in the back with a handmade sign that says "empower yourself with knowledge." They had some books for children but most were for adults. There was Avery interesting book on African Holistic health and some books dealing with the African American experience. I recommend if your interested in any books like this, stop by here and give this small independent neighborhood shop your money and not some large corporate company. There are also a lot of "Rastalogy" products including some photos of his imperial majesty, former Ethiopian Emperor, Haile Selassie I. Haile Selassie is also considered the returned messiah mentioned in the Bible or a prophet of god by some Rastafarians. There were also some posters and other products with his face on them. I noticed there were also some of the old Ethiopian tricolor national flags with the Lion of Judah on them. This was the flag used while Haile Selassie was emperor of Ethiopia and is also widely associated with the Rastafarian movement. There is a very large selection of necklaces, bracelets for men and women as well as earrings. There are also keychains and rings. Love this store! It was exactly what I needed when in federal way visiting a friend. I found some amazing little crystals (black tourmaline especially and a rose quartz angel) some really nice candles and the incense smells better than any I've purchased before. Went in just to browse around. The employee I believe his name was Abron was so kind and helpful. I wasn't planning on buying anything, but he told me about some of the jewelry and necklaces he makes and I ended up buying a hematite stone necklace which he informed me about and a beautiful handmade crocheted beanie that I absolutely love. He took the time to explain to me what my stone's meaning and healing properties were and now I'm so fascinated to learn more about crystals and other stones. So I go to Dicks Sports and ran across this little shop. Somehow it must have come out of no where because I was having a crappy day that day and wham!!! The owner of this little shop is a good dude on a high level. I walked in randomly and wound up chatting with the owner for almost an hour about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Literally changed my week. Thanks bro, never know when a positive attitude can change someone's total outlook. And the oils at this place??? Hands down the best smelling oils since Woodstock!!
