S & S Appliance Parts & Service

S & S Appliance should not even get a one star in my opinion. Also,…read morePlease read my review dated Oct 28, 2025 Take a good look at the pictures that I have supplied here. Their so-called Whirlpool Certified appliance tech/repairman who is known as Domonic, needs to go back to Whirlpool school, or any school that teaches basic mechanics. He completely tore up in inside of my washing machine in order to "repair" it. He claimed he was going to "do a complete rebuild of it from top to bottom". I am almost 72 and I do know a quite a few things about how to repair machinery and such. I am a disabled Navy Vietnam Vet with some physical disabilities that prevent working on things like this washing machine. When it would finish washing the clothes and going through the final spin, it would leave the clothes still dripping wet, just enough to where my wife and I would have to hand-wring the remaining water out of the clothes so we could put them in the dryer. I thought that it could possibly be the water pump may be going bad. Everything else worked just fine. However, after Dominic had made his initial assessment, he began ordering parts. He never did once say anything about the possibility of the problem possibly being the water pump, nor did he ever order one. However, I have a Whirlpool Washing Machine with the bottom of the inside barrel all tore to there and back that is sitting on a spindle that has the gears all striped to heck from being cut away with a reciprocal saw and pounded on with what force that he could exert with the big hammer I supplied him with. I never told Dominic what to do or how to do it. Dominic had made his assessment of what was wrong with the washer on Jul 23, 2025. After a new excuse of why he couldn't get it repaired yet, every week, up until Aug 22, 2025, the day he started sawing and banging for over 2 hours, Mr. Dominic tells me he would need to order some more parts, and I would have to wait another week. This time he destroyed the washing machine even further. Up to this point it would wash the clothes it just would not spin dry them enough to put them in the dryer. I sort of lost it here, I am going on 72, I am a disabled vet with very bad tinnitus in both ears, and I wear hearing aids because I am hard of hearing, especially from the "noise" the tinnitus creates. I also have some PTSD problems. After hearing all that noise for 2 hours and then he says it will be another week and now I am going to have to go to the laundry mat. I am under a home warranty, and all Dominic had to do was just "call it a day" suck it up and realize that he could not repair it. It was a lost cause and call my home warranty and let them know and they would get me a replacement. He said that was his call to make and he would not do that. I lost it I guess, I let out a few expletives about the situation as most anyone else would have in my situation. Dominic put a report into his boss or whoever that I had in his own words, "cursed him!!" And that I had yelled at him! He is supposed to be a mid 30's guy with a child on the way. I must have hurt his feelings somehow. The next week he calls me and lets me know he is on his way and would like for me to move the washing machine from my utility room to a place where he has more room to work. (he should have already know that I am a disabled vet after me telling him so in an earlier week of this endeavor). Anyway, a couple of friends had been over during the weekend and had already moved it to my carport. When Dominic got to my home, i showed him where the washer was. The day was going to get hot, and the washer was outside. I don't think he like that. As he came into my house to get the parts for the washer I tried to be nice and polite and apologized for getting loud and him thinking that I was yelling and cursing at him because of it. Then he tells me that I am getting loud again and yelling at him. I again tried to explain to him that I tend to talk louder and louder when my tinnitus is acting up, that my wife even has to tell me to quiet down at times. I try not to get loud. My doctor says it a brain thing. As my hearing ability goes own, my brain thinks that no one else can hear me either, so my reaction is to talk louder which sound like I'm yelling to some people. Dominic didn't want to hear it. So I asked him in a meek voice whisper, "Should I talk to you like this all day?", at which point he threw down the washing machine part that he had in his hands while still in my home, and yelled out that he had had enough, stormed out of my home got in his service vehicle and left. He quit my job. S&S Appliance ignored all of my calls and never sent anyone else out to finish repairing my washing machine. My home warranty did help me get a new washing machine. Dominic had ordered parts for the washer and had some sent to my home and he brought some with him at times. To be continued......

I called in an issue for my Ice Maker to AHS, they assigned S&S. S&S was on time, qualified, fixed the issue and was very easy to talk with. So unusual for appliance service. I Highly Recommend.

This is a first rate company. Trained technicians (by the manufacturer; in my case Sub-Zero),…read moreprompt and neat workmanship. My 8 year old refrigerator was icing up and there was a "factory update" involving a new fan and many related parts. They also diagnosed the problem with my Sub-Zero Beverage Center, ordered parts, removed it and took it back to their shop for repairs. It will take about a week for repairs and re-install. The Technicians arrived on time, worked efficiently, fixed my built-in refrigerator, cleaned up and left - what more can you ask for?

We've used these guy's twice. Let me say if you need Sub Zero service, you call these guys. We used…read moreour Home warranty people to send out service for our Sub Zero. They sent a company out, we paid the $70 service call fee and they paid them 1200.00 (not) to fix the Fridge, they were there and gone in 45 min. We called Prestigious Appliance to come out,....long story short. He replaced the very parts the noodle heads before him said they had replaced, all original parts, still in tact.He had to remove all the shelves, drawers etc...to remove inside back panel, to get to some of the parts....which I never saw the man before do. So, that right there told me, the other guy ripped off the Warranty Co. Now, WE did end up paying $1200.00 out of pocket....but we had some expensive parts replaced, one of which was a compressor.....But, add it up here. .....the fridge stops working and unless you can get someone to your house within the hour to repair it, you're either going to lose the groceries inside, or transfer them to the refrigerator in the garage. Either way it's a big hassle. Then wait 2 weeks for them to come and not repair it. We then have to do this a second time....transport groceries to the garage..go back and forth to the garage whenever you need something out of the refrigerator, the freezer isn't large enough so you end up losing some groceries. So, there's waste of money as well. I don't know about you, but I'd rather spend the money to have it repaired, correctly the first time, than to go through all of that. It is not like you're having to do without a microwave. And spending 1200.00 isn't the same as the $12,000.00 for the Fridge. So, don't go through the aggravation we did for a month before we took control from the warranty company. Simply call Prestigious Appliance to begin with. They are the most knowledgeable guys you'll meet.

The young man who came to the house was punctual, polite and professional. Unfortunately that's where the good things stop. Our vent hood blower is on the roof and despite claiming to have checked the motor, he never went to the roof. I suggested that the problem could be the startup capacitor on the blower and he didn't check it. Instead, after knocking around in our kitchen for the better part of an hour, he tells me that the problem can't be fixed and that the parts for our 17 yr old vent hood aren't available. He searched online, talked to Viking and there was no way to fix it and there was nothing he could do. He said even if he could fix it, it would be around $900. He collected $115 and left. That just didn't make any sense to me. I'm reasonably handy and I went on the roof and quickly found the problem. Sure enough, the startup capacitor was bad and despite Service Care's claim that parts weren't available and my unit was beyond repair, Amazon delivered the $10 part the next day and I installed it in about 5 minutes. $10. Based on this interaction, I can't recommend this company.
