The Magnolia Jazz band also performs personal requests ahead of time which was such a nice surprise during the wedding when you recognize one of the songs :) They learned a couple of Laufey songs and played Taylor Swift- enchanted for the bridal procession! Having Robbie and the band perform really elevated the experience to another level and was one of the favorite parts of the wedding amongst the guests. Magnolia Jazz Band's five-star average is well deserved. Robbie and the band played at my wedding ceremony on 10/15/22 and created the exact elegant ambiance I was hoping to achieve. We were married at the Morcom Rose Garden in Oakland, with the reception to follow at Trader Vic's in Emeryville. I wanted the music to be more on the tropical, bossa nova jazz side, and much of the music they had on their setlist to choose from fit the vibe. They're also able to accommodate requests of songs not on their setlist; our processional song was Como Te Quiero by Khruangbin, which they'd never played before but created a beautiful rendition of. Communication was always great and the overall process of getting a quote, scheduling the date, and choosing the music was incredibly easy. My brother was point man at the garden to help set up chairs and meet vendors, and he said the band showed up on time and immediately started setting up. They started playing on schedule and even played through most of the photo-taking post-ceremony. I was able to sneak away from the photoshoot for a couple of minutes to thank Robbie and the band and they were all so kind and warm. These guys are professionals and I highly recommend them for your next event. They create an elevated atmosphere that's far from stuffy or boring and are just fantastic musicians who play very well. Many of our guests complimented the band and told us how much they loved their performance -- the music was amazing. Thank you Robbie and thank you to the entire band. We had the Magnolia Jazz Band for our wedding on 05/18/2024 at the Elizabeth Gamble Garden in Palo Alto and we are so glad we did - in fact we keep talking about how we need to find another reason to hire them again!
