I cannot say enough how much I love my wedding day and Daphna and Bruce were certainly a big part of it. I knew exactly that I wanted to walk down the aisle to a violin playing in the background. There's something about live music, especially strings that add so much elegance and romance to the setting. For the most part, I worked only with Daphna from beginning to end. Bruce showed up ready to go at the wedding. Daphna was very professional and so pleasant to work with from the get go. Our process consisted of an initial meeting, which was a phone call in our case, and a final phone call closer to the wedding day to finalize music selections. We were not only limited to these 2 meetings, she was also available in between those times if we had any questions and she was always very responsive. Her vast knowledge in music was helpful when we couldn't decide for our recessional song. Additionally, she was more than willing to listen to our ideas and learn new music if needed. Her years of experience showed in the way she handled our questions (lots of it) and the outcome of our ceremony. I still get chills when I reflect back standing in my bridal room waiting to come out and I hear Daphna and Bruce start to play Pachebel's Canon in D. I was pretty set on having a string quartet play during my wedding ceremony. But I had contacted a couple and after a few emails, they stopped responding, so my mom (who was helping me plan my wedding) took to Yelp to do some searching. Along came Music by Daphna. Daphna was extremely prompt in answering the first emails, and met with us in her home to go over what I wanted. My wedding was in a church, but my husband and I don't have a traditional, romantic, lovey-dovey relationship, so I didn't want that kind of music. I had very specific ideas about what I wanted, and Daphna assured me the music I wanted would be beautiful and that she and her partner Bruce would learn any songs I wanted, as long as they thought they could do them justice with just the violin and guitar duo. I chose my songs in early March, and then about a month before the October wedding, I had a revelation and wanted something totally different - I emailed Daphna and she was more than willing to work with me. I chose modern songs that reflected my personality and the relationship I have with my family, my bridal party, and mostly, my husband. Our mothers were seated to "Nine in the Afternoon" by Panic! At The Disco (I had originally chosen "Cocoon" by Jack Johnson) Our bridal party processed to "God Only Knows What I'd Be Without You" by the Beach Boys (I had originally chosen the theme from the God Father) I walked in with my father to "Everlong" by The Foo Fighters Our recessional was "That's Amore" by Dean Martin & "The Tarantella" Everyone remarked at how lovely the music was, and how much it fit our lives together and my personality. I would hire Daphna to do my wedding again in a heart beat! She was everything I expected and SO MUCH MORE! If you're at a loss for finding someone for you wedding, cocktail hour, or anything in between, you should definitely meet with you. We just had our wedding almost two weeks ago in Saratoga, CA at Villa Montalvo! The day was spectacular and everyone commented on how beautiful the scenery and the music was. I asked Daphna if they could include music from my favorite TV show GLEE called 'Halo/Walking on Sunshine' which was a mash-up of Beyonce's Halo R&B and some 80s song Wakling on Sunshine pop rock. I wasn't sure if it could be pulled off but I wanted to try and they were game for it. They were very encouraging to trying out new songs and worked with the materials that was out there on YouTube and other current media to figure out 'Halo/Walking on Sunshine' and it was such a hit! I love the unexpected twist and fresh ending to our ceremony when we walked away and we received a few comments from music-o-philes and gleeks on how wonderful it was that they could play that song! We also asked that they include "The Beautiful Jasmine" which was a very traditional ancient folklore song and they did an amazing job. It was very touching for the elders in our families to hear that song at the wedding. We really appreciated how they were willing to learn new songs and to make it reflect our taste in an Asian-friendly wedding while pulling off some fun with a Glee song! Plus they were super organized and super responsibe on email. Always important when planning for a wedding! And they were the sweetest too! We got a lovely card from them on our wedding! Awww! :-) And they were patient! Our wedding ran a bit late (like probably half an hour over) and they were very accommodating and worked with the shifted schedule and were just lovely lovely! read more

Daphna and Bruce played at our Jewish/Catholic wedding and they were amazing. They played Jewish songs and classical for processional, Ave Maria for the interlude, and a folk song for the recessional. So we had really a mix of everything, but Daphna and Bruce did such an amazing job with each genre. You can find Daphna singing Ave Maria on youtube and she is just as good in person. Working with Daphna was great. She sent a long list of suggested songs that we could pick from, and they even learned some new songs at our request. Daphna was so flexible, agreeing to talk with us at 8pm since that was the only time that worked for us, and she was so pleasant to talk to. read more

Daphna is fantastic!!! She's really sweet and she is really about getting to know the couple which I liked a lot. The music was beautiful for preceremony, ceremony and cocktail. My wedding was a romantic comedy movie theme and Daphna was able to tie the whole theme together. I asked if she could play "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge for me, and she actually learned how to play the song just for me. Additionally, for you golfers out there, my now husband wanted to have The Masters theme song for when the parents walked up the aisle. We hired Music by Daphna for our wedding in April 2014 in Sacramento. We truly enjoyed working with her. She's very accommodating, professional, and sweet. She comes prepared to discuss all your music needs, with a wide range of song options. She was very helpful in selecting the songs for the ceremony and was open to learning a song if needed. Daphna was very responsive and respectful of church rules as well. I'm sure it was challenging to work with a Vietnamese choir in tandem, but they handled it very well. Her prices were fair for the experience you get too. Overall, everyone enjoyed the music! The violin/guitar duo was beeeeauuutifully played at the church ceremony. Loved their renditions of "In My Life" and "Rainbow Connection" during our processional. Daphna has been by far the WORST vendor I've dealt with for our upcoming wedding. She is completely unprofessional and should not be operating any sort of business. She backed out of our agreement despite verbal and written commitment. She tried to pressure us to sign her contract by telling us she had other parties interested in our date. She offers no discounts for cash or full upfront payment and does not allow you to pay with credit card. She is a terrible communicator, she took 3 days to respond to emails and most times instead of responding she would call at inappropriate times and leave 3 minute long voicemails. I asked her very basic questions about discounts and providing shade which is required in the contract. Instead of answering these questions, she backed out of the agreement. I'm glad she will not be playing at our ceremony as she exudes negativity. read more

All "business" was taken care before the wedding date, so it was nice to have one less thing to worry about on the big day. My mother-in-law re-married yesterday, and my wife and I hired Daphna and Bruce to provide music for the wedding at our home in Campbell, CA. We had seen Daphna and Bruce play at Regale Winery in Los Gatos, and they were fabulous there as well. We contacted Daphna to check availability, and she was available at the date and time we needed. She provided a very reasonable quote, and sent us a contract. A few weeks before the wedding, she came to our home and met with my wife and mother-in-law to review the details. She was very pleasant and professional. On the day of the wedding, she and Bruce arrived on-time and setup promptly. They provided music as the guests arrived, wedding procession music, festive music at the ceremony concluded, and fun danceable music during the reception. They amplified their music, and it was just the perfect volume. Many of our guests commented on how beautiful, appropriate and fun the music was. Daphna really understood how to read the crowd and tailor the musical selection accordingly. I would highly recommend Daphna and Bruce to provide classy music to any event, and I would certainly hire them again. read more

She offered to learn any songs we wanted with a 3-4 week notice and we asked her to learn Aloe Blacc - The Man when my husband walked down the aisle (ha!) it was great and they did the strings so well. Daphna and Bruce was wonderful to work with! The duo played beautifully for our outdoor wedding at the Mountain Winery. They were able to play all the songs we requested for the ceremony and even learned a new song for free, which I walked down the aisle to. They also played while my sister in law sang during our sand ceremony. It was really wonderful. We told them what type of music we wanted for the cocktail hour and everyone was pleased with the music. They kept the party alive and upbeat. I first met this charming duo at an Open Mic at the Essanay Café in Niles several years ago, where they blew the crowd away with their beautiful voices, ringing guitar/violin, and thrilling harmonies. Daphna and Bruce recently played at our wedding on 6/11/16 at Nestldown, during the ceremony and cocktail hour. They came highly recommended by the venue, so we reached out to them and are SO grateful we did! I still get butterflies when I remember hearing the song I had listened to on repeat for many months off of Daphna's website (Train's "Marry Me") begin to play as I walked down the stairs. It was far more beautiful in person, which was hard to believe because it sounds so good on the website! I got tons of compliments on the ceremony music! For me, the music sets the tone for the ceremony, and it was truly magical. Daphna was a dream to work with. She is willing to learn new songs, however, we took songs from her playlist (she has a great variety!) We spoke a few weeks before the wedding about final ceremony songs and by that point, I was so burnt out with decision making, I didn't want to even think about cocktail hour music. Not to worry, Daphna said she would come up with a playlist and gauge the crowd to see what they seem to like and respond to best! I knew I was in good hands. Daphna and her partner Bruce Barley performed at my wedding on New Year's Eve. It turned out that the ceremony was my husband and I's favorite part of the wedding. The music they played set just the right mood, exactly what I was looking for. Daphna sang Ave Maria and it was so beautiful - truly a highlight of the ceremony.
