People are great Dr Camp is wonderful. He is attentive, careful and explains what he doing and why. He did fillings for a receding gum line, which costs less and less recovery time than gum surgery. It's good for 5-10 years. At age 77 less pain and recovery time is a plus. I was getting ready to go on vacation and minimal recovery time was a plus. My brother told me about his recovery from gum surgery and I don't have time to mess with that. New doctor good experience. read more

I scheduled an appointment on a Friday few weeks ago at 740am. I had to request pto from work for this appointment. I showed up early and saw that no one was in the office or picking up the phone. However their office states that they open at 7am. I waited in the parking lot for at least 30 minutes after my appt time, hoping someone would show up or at least call me back. I left voicemails as well. An hour AFTER my appointment time, I receive an email that my appointment has been cancelled due to inclement weather (this was before the bad storm hit and took out power). Even as I write this review almost 1.5 weeks later, no one has even bothered to call me back or reschedule, or even an apology. Very unprofessional and wasted a lot of my time! read more

Interesting I find this review, Shoe. I had a similar experience with my crown. They did a poor job with the impression apparently because when my temporary crown came in it didn't fit and they had to file it down (or whatever it is they do) to get it to work. But by then it was so thin that as soon as I bit down on it, it broke. Right there in his office. I didn't even make it out the door. Ditto for the next temporary (didn't fit, then broke in the dentist chair.) Ditto for the first permanent (didn't fit, broke in the dentist chair.) He tried to tell me I just have an exceptionally strong bite. Right. Or it could be because the only way they could get it to fit was to file it down til it was paper thin. He even suggested he might have to file down my natural, healthy teeth in order to get it to fit. I put my foot down at that. Finally they did a second permanant in some super strong material but still had to file it really thin to get it to fit. And wouldn't you know it. Here is sit a handful of months later and it fell out. It has a hole it in in the spot where they had to file it so thin in order to fit. I agree with other reviewers. The hygienists are fine. But this dentist does not seem very skilled to me. Now I have to decide if I want to go back to try to get him to fix it. Or just give up and call it a loss and go somewhere else. read more

I was a longtime patient then I wanted to get my teeth whitened. They proceeded differently than any other time, charged me up front. I had to pay $400. in advance. It was the worst experience I have ever had at the dentist. They proceeded to put whitening gel on my teeth WITHOUT a tray to hold the gel on my teeth. The gel obviously did not just set on my teeth it rolled down the back of my mouth. My teeth did not really lighten at all. I could not believe that a dentist I had trusted would rip me off! It needs to be pointed out that THE OWNER OF THIS OFFICE HAS CHANGED since the other reviewer had a negative experience. The new owner, Dr. Camp, is an amazing, caring dentist. He is very compassionate and honest in his business practices, and does excellent work. I am a dentist that works elsewhere, and when my sister needed some fillings and a root canal, he generously allowed me to use his office, and refused to take any payment for the materials I used in performing her work. Dr. Camp and his colleagues run an extremely professional office with a personal touch which is rare to be seen in the era of assembly-line medical care that we see these days. I have had periodic cleanings, amalgam replacements, bonding and a crown put in - all done in a first class manner. The three dental assistants with whom I have dealt are all right on the money and seem to know their business. Ms. Sharon & Ms. Alia in particular. Dr. Camp is somewhat reserved at first, but as he sees you more often he warms up and is most personable. Most important, he is a pro. That's what counts when you're writhing in that chair before the drill kicks in! From what I have seen, he is genuinely interested in doing a top flight job and making his patients comfortable. No question. The only complaint I would have is with their 3rd Party billing system, as has been mentioned by several other reviewers. Lousy. Ms. Megan however immediately took care of the problems with no additional follow up on my part needed. Great operation all around. When so much in medicine is either quackery, laughably overpriced or assembly-line treatment, this crew definitely stands out. read more

I had a great experience at Magnolia Park Dental. I was referred by a friend because of a bad experience at a prior dental office and I was needing to get my new crown adjusted. Dr. Camp & staff were ALL very nice and personable which made me feel comfortable and reduced my "dental chair anxiety". They were able to adjust the crown in no time and I was on my way. I wish I could give Dr. Camp and his staff more than 5 stars. It is definitely well deserved! My mother was visiting from out of state and had the unfortunate experience of having immense tooth pain while here on vacation. I told her how wonderful my dentist is and called Dr. Camp and told him about her circumstances. Even though my mother is not his patient, he immediately made time for her, discovered she had an infection, and helped resolve her situation quickly. He is honestly one of the kindest doctors ever!! His staff is amazing as well! They are warm and caring...and Tawona is an excellent hygienist! I very highly recommend Dr. Camp and his team! read more

Honestly, I wasn't even planning to write a review until I read over everyone else's. I figure, it's worth sharing your experience so others might be able to learn from it and make an educated decision for themselves. First and foremost, the office is gorgeous. The staff is really pleasant and quite friendly. Their equipment seems to be pretty up-to-date and I always felt comfortable in the office. Secondly, Dr. Camp is very nice. He seems to have a genuine interest in helping you and making your experience a positive one. That being said,overall we do have a mixed opinion about our entire experience. To start, my wife went in before I did and had three cavities filled. They were small cavities and we assumed it would be a standard procedure. It was, however an incredibly painful and nearly traumatic experience for her. She felt like Dr. Camp was unresponsive to her clear expression of discomfort and pain. She tried to "tough it out", but as a professional, I think it wise to know non-verbal cues of pain from your patients. She was literally in tears on her drive home when she called me. My appointment was a few days later. When I went in the first time, I had a cleaning done, which was awesome. Great job by the hygeniest. Super friendly and a really excellent experience. Next visit, I had 3 cavities, a root canal and a crown being done. Overall, the experience was positive. I didn't feel like he took too long working, I was numbed up properly... it seemed good. He put a temporary filling in while we waited for the crown. This was great. Also, the work was several hundreds of dollars more than my annual insurance covered. They were great with setting up a very reasonable payment plan with me. Really made me happy. Now, to the point of a few other comments, their third party billing sends out bills for who knows what. Unfortunately, the office couldn't even give a good explanation of how they determined the figures. They advised to follow the billing plan set up in the office. I continued to receive letters that were frustrating because they advised that I was "past due" and "payment is due immediately". Also, the figures didn't match up AT ALL, and still don't. It's twenty or thirty dollars different from what my explanation of benefits states, but I figured, they're working with me, so better to not push the situation. That experience has been mediocre. Next, my crown came in, just in time before a trip I had planned. When I came in, I was advised everything would take 30 minutes. It took almost 30 minutes to even be seen that day. Next, the assistant removed my temporary filling and spent a significant amount of time trying to fit the crown on. She kept putting it in, taking it out, shaving it down, putting it in, taking it out, etc. Then, she dropped it on the floor. She didn't even say anything like, "Oops", or "Sorry", or anything. She just grabbed it, walked out and then came back and started trying again. I can only assume she left to sanatize the heck out of it, since it was going directly back into my mouth. Finally, after about 25 minutes of working with it, Dr. Camp came in and tried for another 20 minutes or so. If you're keeping track, that's about an hour and fifteen minutes for what was advised would be 30. Once he tried for a while, he told me the company who created the crown messed up and they would need to order another. "It should be here in another 2-3 weeks." That may have been fine, but they told me 2 weeks the first time and took 4. Secondly, I told them I had a vacation in a week (which they already knew) and a half and wanted the crown for that trip. They said they would "try" to get it in time, but could not guarantee it. It literally arrived the day before my trip. It still took almost an hour that day to put the crown in, but it was fine... I had it. Shortly after, while on my trip, I experienced pain and discomfort where the crown was, as well as sensitivity to heat. When Dr. Camp looked at it, he said sensitivity to hot was hard to test and to give it time. I have given it time and it still hurts :( To conclude this incredibly long review, it wasn't the best experiences I've ever had with a dentist, but certainly not the worst either. Their staff makes it very easy to feel comfortable. There has only been one lady I've spoken to several times on the phone who seems to never really know what's going on, but other than that, it's been good. Dr. Camp is very nice and seems to do a good job, but the follow-up work leaves one wanting for more. I wouldn't go out of my way to discourage someone going to this office... I would actually be likely to refer them, but would advise of the same details as above. This is my humble opinion... hope it helps in your decision. read more

I had the several of the exact same issues Mikail had: Please note, Tawona the hygienist is absolutely awsome!!! All the issues were with the billing and actual work performed by the dentist. 1. Third party billing. Continually received payment requests from the 3rd party billing. I was continually making calls to ensure claims had actually been billed to and received by my insurance company. Often I just paid the amounts only to later discovered I had a credit balance but they would never tell you that part or send you a refund. Consequently they kept money for several months, actually for almost a year and I finally called and requested my refund when I changed dentists. 2. Unusual billing practices. Between my dental insurance and my coinsurance payment, they were getting more than the billed amount on the claim submitted to the insurance company. I would write a check for my portion of the cost, the claim would then be billed to the insurance andwhen the explanation of benefits came back the portion shown as patient responsibility would be signicicantly less than what I had already paid. The provider stated that they only bill what they knew the insurance would cover. Regardless of whether or not the insurance would pay they should be submitting all services/charges then the insurance company uses specific denial codes. For example, one one claim I paid $188 and the insurance said my portion was $108 so between my payment and the insurance payment they received $80 more than the billed amount. They said the $80 was for stuff not covered by my plan. That was just one instance another was for over $100. I have never seen this before and I don't think it's right. 3. Fillings - The dentist wanted to remove an old fillings and replace with a white one. He said I had a little cavity in there and that it would look better once he was done. Somehow a filling turned into an onlay which is about the same cost as a crown. Plus it took me going in 3 times before it was right. One didn't fit right, one broke and then finally the last one fit. But that's a lot of time going back in and sitting in the chair, having the temporary removed only to have it put back on until the next time. In the beginning it looked better but now it actually looks worse. Some sort of filler he used now shows a dark gap between my gums and the white of the tooth and I look like I have a rotten spot along the gumline when I smile. What the heck????? 4. Crowns & Root Canals - At the end of 2011 he felt that two large old fillings in the far back should be replaced. They were old but I was not having any problems, but he said they needed to be replaced with "crowns" before something did happen. I was sent home with temporary crowns and told to take tylenol for any pain since he had to really drill out the teeth. I was in extreme pain for several days thinking it would get better. Finally I called and they said I needed to come in that I probably needed a root canal. He should have known that before he sent me home! Well, I did not want him to do my root canal but the specialist I wanted wasn't available. What a NIGHTMARE, I wasn't numbed enough and he hit the nerve, and after it was done I was still hurting for over 2 weeks and was told the other tooth might need a root canal also. Nope, no way. I rode it out. The dentist I saw doesn't work there anymore but I still won't go back. I feel like he knew he was leaving and made a boatload of money before he either skipped or was fired. No way to know what the REAL story is but I refuse to go back. They still have the same 3rd party billing and seem to think their billing practices are reasonable and I disagree. Since I can't give zero stars the one star if for Tawona who is a great hygienist. read more

I really did not want to have to do this again, but here I go. I wrote a review last week for the first time because I was so unhappy about how this dentist made me feel during my procedure of redoing fillings (i.e. wiping my face with my own shirt sleeve because they sprayed water everywhere and couldn't stop for 2seconds to wipe for me) and also because of the pain I experienced days after the procedure was done (which I still have at this time, and it's been 2 weeks). I went to a different dentist to see why my tooth that Dr. Camp treated was hurting, and seeing the x-ray, it showed that Dr. Camp made the filling for the tooth way too big. He should've had better judgement as a dentist and decided on a root canal and a crown instead because now that the filling is so big, it is touching the nerve below. This is why I'm experiencing pain when I drink hot/cold beverages, and when I chew. I will have to get a root canal and a crown on this tooth. So the reason why I'm online to write another review is because of the way the receptionist at the front treated me when I called to complain about the pain. (I called to complain about the pain and to ask the number of the tooth that Dr. Camp treated on.) She apparently already read my previous review and was actually upset at ME...!? I'm their patient and that means I'm a paying customer. There was no apology on their part, and she was actually accusing me of being unfair for not giving Dr. Camp another chance to look at my tooth to see if he can fix it...?!!! Are you kidding me? Of course I'm not going to let that man look at my teeth ever again let alone treat them again. He messed up on his very first procedure with me, and I'm still in pain!! Again, this is a tooth that I did not have pain before he did the procedure. The receptionist was suggesting that it might be my bite that is causing me pain (which if it were true, it would still be Dr. Camp's fault) when I told her I'm feeling sensitivity with cold and hot liquids. Do you chew on liquid?? Seriously, I just wanted an apology. Is it so hard to take responsibility and say "I'm sorry you're in pain"??? The attitude of this receptionist really turned me off even more. She was upset that I wrote a negative review on the doctor. Uh, hello? That is why these websites were made. You're not always going to get positive reviews especially when you mess up!! Also, what is she freaking out about? It seems like many other people were unhappy about this place and wrote their opinions as well. I will have to retract my statement from before on Dr. Camp not doing root canals; he apparently does them, but doesn't know how to RE-DO root canals. Whatever. In my opinion, he doesn't have any great skills as a dentist, and apparently does not know how to train his staff on having customer service. Just for your information, there are tons of other dentists who can re-do root canals, know how to extract wisdom teeth, know how to do fillings correctly without causing their patience pain afterwards, and who actually have great customer service. Seriously, it's honestly my own fault for even trying Magnolia out of convenience (close to my house). I so regret spending $300+ to get my tooth messed up even more than before, and for the time and effort I'm spending on having to even write these types of negative reviews. read more

I would like to say that the prior review is ridiculous. Dr Davis is an incredible dentist who is also skilled with handling insurance claims, making sure that the patient is satisfied. Their billing system is great- they will tell you not to pay the bill immediately but to wait for the insurance to pay first. This issues this person is having is typical of getting detal work done anywhere and not the fault of the office or the dentist. I have been going to him for over 7 years- I left Dr Davis for two years but came back because I trust him implicitly. Not only is he a great dentist, but a great person. read more

Dr. Camp is great & I would highly recommend him. He opened his office on a Saturday to see my son after a sports injury to his mouth. At the time we were not patients of his. We contacted him after a referral from a friend. He was very gracious, attentive and reassuring. We scheduled an office visit for the following Monday for follow up, corrective work & met the rest of the staff. They were friendly and the wait time was short. Excellent work. read more

My husband and I recently went to Dr. Camp for cleanings and both of us had a cavity. I'm so anxious when going to the dentist due to some previous experiences elsewhere that have been less than present. Dr. Camp's staff is great. The front desk staff is very welcoming and inviting. They answered many of my treatment plan questions. Tawona is a great hygienist. She took her time to explain what she was doing and checked in a lot knowing that I was a very anxious patient. Dr. Camp sat down with me to explain the treatment plan including one filling and possible Invisalign options. I felt that he really like he listened and didn't rush me out of the office. When I came in for my filling the staff was very comforting knowing that I was super anxious about the appointment. Dr. Camp came in and explained everything before we got started and made sure I was very numb to make getting a filling as pleasant as something like that could be. He worked quickly but effectively and I can honestly say that the experience was better than any other dental work I've had before. I would recommend Dr. Camp's office to anyone. read more

I'm pretty sure all he wants is your money. My husband and I have gone to this dentist for a few years. The first red flag came when he told my husband that he needed a lot of work done in his mouth (over $1,000 worth). Luckily, my husband is not one to just say ok so he asked the dentist if it was all necessary. After pushing back a little more, the dentist basically told my husband that some things did not really need fillings and that they were surface spots on his teeth that he just needed to watch. We continued to go there because it is just a pain to switch dentists. I went for a routine cleaning a few weeks ago and was told that I needed to have a cavity filled. I take very good care of my teeth and have only had one cavity ever. Before he told me that I had a cavity he took a double take at the x-ray and quietly questioned if maybe it was possibly a spot showing up from the angle that the x-ray was taken. But, he quickly just said it was a cavity and needed to be filled. I asked if it definitely needed to be filled and he basically became defensive and said of course it does. I did not get the cavity filled and left there basically wondering if I really even had a cavity. So, I went to a new dentist who took a lot of x-rays (much better quality than at Magnolia Dental). She very carefully examined every tooth in my mouth with me and showed me that there were absolutely NO cavities in my mouth. I could go on and on about how much we do not like Magnolia Dental but hopefully you get the point that he is not trustworthy! read more
