The loan was for 5 years, and I paid it off exactly on time with absolutely no past due payments, delays, or issues. Naturally, I was very satisfied and recommended them to all of my friends for years. ​This year, I decided to upgrade to a 2023-2026 model car. Nothing has changed negatively in my life; I work at the exact same business and make even more money now, so I was 100% sure everything would go smoothly to get another 20k credit line. ​I applied and was initially approved instantly. Shortly after, they requested my tax returns and S-Corp documents. I promptly provided everything, showing that I make more than 170k a year individually with a household income around $250,000. I have no active credit lines and my rent is $2,850. Guess what happened next? My credit line was declined. The reason they gave was "excessive obligations in relation to income," which makes absolutely no sense given my financial reality. ​Thank you guys for being so kind and fair to your loyal customer! I will definitely not be recommending you to anyone else.

I have not stepped foot inside the credit union itself. I'm generally not the biggest fan of outdoor ATMs in San Francisco, so when I lived in the Mission, although there was a credit union within a couple of blocks of my apartment, I never used its ATM. Why? Because who wants to withdraw cash on Mission Street, where everyone can see that you took out money, where you put it, and which direction you came from? Thankfully, this SFFCU branch has one of those lobby ATMs. After hours, the door is locked, but you can insert your ATM card to unlock it. Once you're inside, if someone else were to enter, you'd hear the beep of their card and the door unlocking, plus there are cameras, and the lock records the info of the card used to unlock it, so it would be pretty risky to rob someone at one of these ATMs. Another nifty safety feature of this lobby is that it's set back from the street, so if someone wanted to try to see your PIN as you're entering it or otherwise spy on you, they'd have to walk down the little alley, and you'd probably be very aware of their presence there. What could make this branch better? If it had a branch-services agreement with my credit union, which it doesn't. Still, it's a nice branch. Not as fancy as the one on California Street, but still very modern, and much nicer than the cruddy Stonestown branch.

I bought a house in San Francisco in 2012. I received several mailings (which I always Returned to Sender) for the previous owner after first buying the house (which is expected and eventually stopped). But, oddly, in November 2025 - more than 13 years after buying the home, I began receiving monthly mail from Citibank for the previous owner again. At first, I returned mail to sender, thinking that will fix the issue (I have worked in the financial industry most of my life and know that financial institutions have a reasonable responsibility to keep customer info updated in order to comply with anti-money-laundering & U.S. Patriot Act laws.) Most financial institutions will remove and address from their customer's profile & investigate further if they continuously received returned mail from an address on file. Citibank did not and for months, I kept receiving mail. So, I went to the local Citibank and personally handed a few months' worth of Citibank mail to the representative and explained that I recognize the addressee as someone I purchased my home from in July 2012 but that person has not lived at my address since nor is a person that I have any relationship with. I asked them to please stop sending me her mail & explained how difficult it is for me to keep having to return mail to sender (I have a brain condition, which I am waiting for surgery for, that has been causing different types of seizures. With some of the seizures, I will suddenly lose awareness and perform a repetitive action for up to 5 minutes which is often followed by a period of 30 minutes where I act drunk and have little to no memory of. I don't have an outgoing mailbox at my home an walking to just the PO Box to return mail sender is scary for me because I never know when a seizure will strike and am unaware of what I'm doing for up to 35 minutes. The mail STILL didn't stop so I went into this office again months later and even found out that the previous owner got a personal loan, using my address, in October 2025 which is why I began receiving monthly mail again in November 2025. Annoyed that Citibank did not protect their customer's private and personal information as well as comply with Know-Your-Customer legislation, I even found the previous homeowner's phone number & alerted her of what was happening, requested that USPS investigate the issue, and notified FTC. I am STILL receiving mail for the previous homeowner and am now also getting mail for other people whose names I'm not familiar with AT ALL. Any other financial institution would have flagged my address as one that does not belong to the client & needs further investigation (to comply with KYC laws) as well as stopped sending me mail (to protect their client's personal information) but Citibank didn't. This is NOT somewhere I would bank.

The staff here at this location seemed very nice and professional. The bank itself and the staff bankers and tellers here are okay. I would have love to give this place 5 stars but the traffic is usually busy in this area and parking can be a real headache.
