I was told I would have to wait for the next patient, who was not there to arrive and be treated before my pet was seen. Then I would have to pay an additional $20 late fee. magnolia vet hospital is a very expensive vet hospital they charge $180 just to look at your pet. i took my dog there explaining to them that he would bite anyone except me and my husband that they needed to sedate him. well, when they vet came in to look at him, we had a mussel on him and i was holding him, so he was ok, then for the $180"""" he listens to his heart and felt his belly. of course, i already told him his system he said we needed blood work the assistance will be back with a quote she came in and said it was going to be $800 dollars of course i had no choice at that point i wanted to get my dog well. so they got his blood ok cause i was still there. well, when they came back with his result said everything look good but he was a little r dehydrated he told me he needed to give him fluids that they would have to keep him over night. they would put another mussel on him to do this. he said the assistance would be back with estimate she cam back in room and said it was going to be $1700 at this point they have not treated him yet. paid now before they go forward . well as soon as me and my husband left he came out of tha mussel they call me said is it okay to sedated him then they would let him come home they feel that he would rest batter. but remember when i got there in the beginning told them he was goi ng to have sedate him, i they let him hurt his eye if they sedated him as i told them this would not have happen. they did refund some money back. but i still have to paid a lot of money. in my opinion i feel they are taking advantage of people who can not afford to tak care of there pet. they did not offer payment plans or anything to help people. read more

Rusty is 5 and got sick suddenly. He was diagnosed with Flutd. They begin treatment at once. I paid over 1800. that day. Yes I took my chances I knew he could get another blockage. Monday morning they called he was doing lots better. I called Monday night he was the same. Tuesday they called he was still doing good but I was told it would most likely be Wednesday when he could be picked up so they could make sure. Wednesday at 6, I called them. They said oh we were just going to call you can pick him up he's doing great. I wondered why the change but since they said to pick him up I did. When I picked him up he was so still and didn't act a lot better but I thought it was medicine or whatever. The next day (Wednesday) he was still the same just out of it. He ate and drank very little. Early the next morning (Thursday) I took him local to the vet. He was so very sick. And yes he was blocked again. But they questioned why was he sent home so quickly? They also talked about the price I paid and him not being alert when he was picked up. I have no idea either because I told Magnolia on the Tuesday I would rather them keep him if he needed it. Local vet was not sure if Rusty would make it or not but I told them I would try once more. On Friday afternoon he was doing so well when i went to I see him. Up and about and everything. Rusty stayed for 5 nights to make sure everything was working like it should and he was eating and drinking. I picked him up and he came home and was a completely different cat than when he was picked up at Magnolia. And yes they should have known he didn't need to come home.. my bill at Magnolia was a total of $2,127.41 for two nights, my bill at other vet was for over five nights was $830.00. You tell me that bill of Magnolia is logical. Yes should it be more yes but not that much. 2 nights care vs 5 nights and bringing home a cat that was clearly wasn't well. You know, I have mixed feelings about this place right now. They are the only emergency clinic in Anderson so you don't really have a choice. It's $180 just to walk in the door which is fine with me. I thought my dog was dying. I was informed the wait time was between six and eight hours to see a doctor. They had one doctor on staff and seven dogs ahead of me. I am not sure they are seeing one dog an hour. That seems a little odd. I heard them answer the phone several times and tell people to go to Greenville because they're full. With that being said two hours into it I left and they gave me my $180 back so that's a plus. The ladies were very nice. There was nothing wrong with the place. But I think an eight hour wait to see a vet especially an emergency vet is ridiculous. Hence the word emergency. read more

On May 18,2024, my husband and I took our very sick cat,Wally whom we love dearly, to Magnolia. We had called in advance and were told it could be a wait of an hour or so. We headed right there and the receptionist was curt, rude and flatly said it would be a 3 hour wait and needed a credit card to secure his place if we still wanted to wait and have a vet see him. They immediately took him in the back after payment of $180 (deposit) and did a test to check to see if he was blocked. We never said he was blocked. We know what those symptoms are and that was not the issue. The receptionist told us that they initiate that test first on all male cats that arrive at their clinic! He had not eaten for almost 3 days or had a drink of water. He was extremely lethargic and unresponsive to our attempts to rouse him. After waiting for 3 hours and the staff playing with a puppy that arrived after us, also taking several other animals before us who were not seriously ill, the newly graduated vet student came in and asked us what we wanted her to do!?!?! REALLY! You are the vet, why are you asking us. We needed a diagnosis and treatment, which we received neither from her. They were closing and took additional $300 from our Credit card and closed up. The next day, Sunday, when we called to say he was no better and still very ill, the receptionist told us the vet who saw our cat, Wally, wasn't due in until 6 p.m. and no one else there could discuss our cat and she would call when she arrived. SHE NEVER CALLED! We ended up finding a cat only vet the following morning and drove over an hour to get to her. She immediately took his temp and said he had a very high fever and began fluids for dehydration. Also administered nausea medication and pain med, as he was vomiting and was in pain. She told us that cats can die after no food or fluids for 3 days! Diagnosis: Serious feline virus (flu) This Magnolia Clinic is a joke! They are in it for the financial gain only and couldn't care less about your animal. They are inexperienced and when I asked them what it meant on his medical record we acquired, the initials "ADR", she told us that stands for "Ain't Doing Right"! Seriously! These people are ignorant and do NOT TRUST the care of your animal with this facility! The good reviews have to be made up. Take the bad reviews seriously. read more

As I entered Magnolia, I was immediately greeted with "It's an hour wait do you really want to stay?". Reluctantly I stayed as my dog was seriously ill and was approximately an hour away from another animal hospital. When I told the receptionist I would like to wait, she rudely told me it would be $180.00 to get on the "list", that she takes cash or credit, and I could wait in my car. As I waited, I watched (from my car) as several employees spent time surrounding a puppy a family brought in and two other families leaving as a result of the wait. We were in town visiting for the weekend and had brought our cat who was sick. We ended up having to put her down while on our trip up there, which was very difficult. Magnolia veterinary hospital happened to be open late in the day on a Saturday so we ended up taking her in there. While it was a very sad and emotional time, we could not have been more pleased with the compassionate care that she received. I felt so very torn about not being able to take her to her regular vet where they knew her and loved her, but this was definitely the second best option. Took my kitten in for a neuter consult. Was charged $50 for the necessary wellness exam I was told the kitten had to have before he could be neutered. Was phoned by Dr. Amy Beaverson who let me know my kitten was healthy and looked fine and whoever I adopted HER from, it looked like they had taken care of the vaccines so SHE was ready to be fixed. Here's my concern: I spoke with staff on the phone and in the parking lot informing them that my MALE kitten had received all of HIS shots from the mobile vet clinic and that HE was a rescued feral that had been abandoned. I also gave them my paperwork for him. I corrected the vet while speaking with her on the phone and it was nervously laughed off. There is no way, I would take my kitten or any other pet to this vet. The vet (it seems) didn't look at the paperwork with my kitten's vaccines on them and I'm not sure she even examined my MALE cat. Estimate for neuter was quoted between $285 and $453. read more

I took my cat at about 8-9pm this past Friday. They got me in as quick as possible & took GREAT care of my sweet boy. My cat had complications with his neuter appointment that Friday morning (he was neutered elsewhere for low cost reasons). So he had to have a second surgery to fix a hematoma & blood clots. ALL of the staff were super friendly and attentive to me & my cat. Not to mention, they were packed!!! Luckily we got there before it got super busy but you could tell from the parking lot, they had their hands full with other emergencies. Thank you SO much to Dr. A, the sweet ladies at the front desk, & the vet assistant (young man with a beard).... You were all wonderful & put me at ease that my cat was in good hands. He's still recovering & taking it easy for now but I think he is going to be alright. read more

Long wait times. Up to 4 hours before you can talk to a vet. It's a crap shoot whether the vet you get will be interested in your pet at all, or just trying to get you out of there quick so they don't have to deal with it. If you take an hour and drive to Greenville you will be seen quicker, get good care and be back home earlier even with the hour drive back home. read more

They, along with all of their staff, have been wodnerful. I'm so pleased with the care my dog received. I was recently informed Magnolia had bad press on Yelp and was surprised to hear that. I have made visits to Magnolia on three occasions, all different emergency events with different dogs over the past 10 years or so. Each time we were treated with kindness, courtesy and professionalism. I know the emotions that accompany a sick or injured pet. I noticed one complaint reflected the entitled opinion that during the height of the Covid pandemic they should have been allowed to jeopardize the health of staff because their pet was unwell and another that apparently didn't understand that businesses have standard expenses that have to be met in order to stay in operation. Recently a large mixed breed puppy strayed to my door. I decided to foster him until his owner could be located (the animal shelter was at capacity). This eighty pounds of loving, cuddly garbage disposal would chew anything that would go into his mouth. Dogs that gleefully eat remote controls and eye glasses get to go to the vet whether they are yours or not. Dr. Alex Andrizak (spelling ??) was great in explaining my options and caring for my new found friend. I don't remember the names of the vets on our prior visits but the experiences were similar. (the big mutt is now part of our household) Magnolia is not who we ordinarily see but I have no reservations recommending them or allowing them to care for my pets. For us there is simply no better emergency option and we find comfort knowing they are there. read more

We took our 12 year old cat who had gotten herself stuck and wedged in a tree(we rented a 32' ladder and could hardly reach her still!) to this place for emergency treatment. Our cat was in very bad shape, she had blood coming from her nose and bum and could not move her back legs. We knew she was bad. When we first walked in the receptionist seemed concerned and they took her from us and straight to the back. Then most all of the talk from there on out was money, euthanizing or leaving with her. We were trying to come up with the $1000 deposit for them to even treat her at all. (As an emergency vet we thought they would be more understanding that people don't always have that much stowed away) We did ask them to please do the x-ray($175) to see if her back was broken. The x-ray came back and they said they saw no broken bones. We were hopeful we could save our furbaby. We tried for about 2 hours to come up with this money to have her treated and about every 20 minutes someone would come into the room and ask us to decide what to do. At around 10 pm a lady came into the room and said to us, "We are really slammed and we need you to decide if you want her put to sleep or leave with her now." How is life so invaluable to people who supposedly love animals so much? We ended up paying $94 for an emergency appointment, then another $257.30 and chose to leave with her to try and find a vet that could help us and work with us financially to save her life. They brought out our very lifeless cat who was limp and non-responsive to go home with. Within 30 minutes her body was stiff on the drive home. This is NOT compassion. If you lack compassion you should not be in this field. Animal life is important too and should not be used to profiteer! Find a vet with a heart because these people obviously lack in this area. Also, it is a good idea for you to realize that your words are easily heard through your doors so your laughing, jokes and mean comments about your clients is not a great way to earn any sort of respect. read more

I have trusted my animals to the care of the doctors at Magnolia for years now. Previous to that, we used a vet whose people skills and bedside manner were horrible, so discovering Magnolia and the team of caring professionals there was such a relief. All of the doctors seem very knowledgeable and each one takes all the time you need to understand what is happening with your pet. Euthanasia is a hard thing to endure, but these folks are compassionate and accommodating, giving you all the time you need with your pet before and after the procedure. Magnolia is open 24 hours a day, so they are available in the event of an emergency. All in all, I recommend Magnolia for many reasons. I feel fortunate to have found them. read more

Only use this facility and Vet staff if you enjoy being screwed with when your pet is in trouble, have loads of extra cash just sitting around and gathering dust, and can not live with waisting time and money only to be passed off or refused service. Had to turn around and make a round trip. Back and checked in, waited over an hour to be seen. In room waiting for Vet, additional 45 min. Vet had to have xrays. $160 + $200 more. given estimate between 1800 to 3100 for 2 "emergency surgeries". advised of financial hardship, given options, 1. surgeries. 2. Put animal down. 3. give animal to family that can afford services. chose #1. but had to raise money.given plan. Second day, had to return to drain bladder. Called first, reception said only to come if full amount would be able to be paid before treatment. Third day, raised full amount, checked in paid now $1200 not the $1000 promised only to be told that because we didn't come 2nd day, unable to proceed with surgery. sent home with list of alternate Vets to help with lowering price. refunded $1000.00. Fourth day, called because unable to find alt vet as instructed. Also refund was not posted to account. check in again to new vet that claimed no idea of what happened withprior visits. FInally asked by new vet, if specific vet was called. Not given cintact info by vet and doesn't show up under google search. New vet tells us to go to this place now because a different vet is taking over. New facilty and vet is a Godsend! is willing to work with us on cost of treatment. 2 days later and dog is recovering. Vet wants to keep to make sure there is no damage to kidneys due to being made to wait total of five days. New vet asked the original vet why we weren't given contact information to her. Our new vet was told that he did not know why. Our dog is now home and doing so much better no thanks to the money hungry individuals at Manolia Vet Hospital. Ultimately they chose money over professional and ethical care for our pet. Both Federal and State Regulating Agencies should launch investigation, revoke all vet licenses, and place staff in jail, prison, or a deep hole never to practice vet medicne again. read more

Extremely displeased with this clinic. They took an entire week to call me back just to say that my Corgi couldn't be seen until next year! That is just not acceptable. They finally called and when I explained that I bought over the counter meds, she cut me off with "yep, got it." I called back and instead of listening to me, she lectured me about how busy they were, like I should feel blessed that we're even being called! Found a week old kitten in bad shape, had obvious signs of attack/injury. Looked for emergency vet, this location was listed as closed on multiple domains. If you go through their FAQs that say hours are 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM for emergency hours. This information is not available elsewhere. Waited 10 plus hours to bring the kitten in and still had to wait an hour upon arrival. Even then, we had to explain to them that the kitten had puncture wounds across its entire side. They were informational and kind when talking about putting the kitten down, but lacked effort and empathy. Overall lacking effort as well as care for all involved. Will not return with any animal in any condition. read more

Carried my dog Sunday to Magnolia. She had been throwing up some, very weak, struggling to breathe. They did an ultrasound, said it was clear and she probably just had upset stomach. Tues I ended up at Electric City Vet with same complaint. I know when my dog is sick. Immediately the vet listened to her lungs, did an x-ray and found fluid and tumors in her lungs. Sadly I had to let my girl go to Rainbow Bridge. Do I think Magnolia could have saved her, no. But they were paid to find out what the problem was and didn't. Been there previously on an emergency and no answers then, just a jacked up emergency fee! read more

Unless your pet needs nails clipped or a rabies shot (and I doubt they could give a shot properly), or some other simple procedure, you are better off to take it in to Greenville, Upstate. We took our 8 month old miniature Dachshund there late on a Sunday in late August around midnight because she was pacing, drooling, and trancelike. They gave her an anti nausea shot and sent her home. Long story short, she actually had a liver condition which was sending toxins to her brain and it could have been corrected if found early. Being left undiagnosed and untreated, she died September 22, 2022 after going into convulsions and basically having her brain destroyed by the unfiltered toxins in her blood being pumped to the brain. If they were treating humans they would be hit with a multi-million dollar malpractice suit. When we had taken her back back Sept. 18th when she really was going down hill they took another $1,000 kept her overnight and suggested we take her to Upstate where they were better suited to deal with difficult cases. She died 4 days later. If you value your pet, this would be the last place I would take it. We lost our little angel because they have no idea what they are doing. We live in Salem, SC. read more

My wife brought my dog in from being attacked by a pack of hogs, for one night and cost me $2800! The preliminary estimate saying 1800-2300. I left work Friday hearing from my wife that my dog while going out to potty was in critical condition multiple gouges from a bunch of hogs that were passing through our land. I was then presented with a prepay of $1800 at arrival which I paid happily. I then asked to go inside and see my little guy, as I hadn't seen him at all because I just got off work and came here. I was then told by Dr. Greene that I couldn't go inside the building to see my dog at all because of Covid and because he doesn't want to expose his staff members. He actually then told me that he could bring him out and make him walk and that it'll be a while before they can bring him back in. Stating that they are very busy. I shut down the X rays that he was trying to push on us and about pulled the dog out of their care I felt so cheated, still I swallowed my pride "CALLED" HIM BACK BECAUSE HE CANT COME OUTSIDE FACE TO FACE and told him I'm leaving and to please treat my dog. 2 stars bc he probably save his life stopping the bleeding; but these people WILL BEND YOU HEAD OVER HEAL! If you are In an emergency, and no one else is open as it was for me (6pm Friday night) would I ever consider going to this place again. My vet is having to redo most of his stitches because of an infection. They actually feel bad because of how hard these people screwed us with the bill.... 8 night stay and 2 surgery's with all the medication for less than what these people charge. read more

Poor communication and filled with inaccuracies about time, what was happening with pet, and incorrect with updates. They can't even get your name right half the time. We have used this clinic twice , both in cases of emergency . Our first visit was for a sick feral kitten who sadly was beyond saving . The second was when one of our dogs died a week ago . I had an emergency with one of my dogs. Called ahead brought dog in gave them her breed information and what the issue was. The veterinarian I spoke with was good but the staff was atrocious. They wrote down mixed breed in error, which could have been fatal to my dog. I did not see that until I picked up the dog the next day. Charged me for meds I provided. I called to tell them I was picking up my dog after treatment waited 45 minutes for my dog to be brought out front. No follow up to see how she was after the fact. Would never take my dog here again. I've had a few bad experiences here so far, and there are two I have particularly in mind. The first one I was trying to get my very sick dog in to their emergency clinic late at night. It was about 30 minutes before their closing, but my dog was vomiting uncontrollably and non responsive. She was getting worse by the minute. I called to see if I could bring her in because I was very worried and they told me no because they would be closing at normal time no matter what, and if my dog needed serious care they would not continue to care for her past hours, they would just leave her there because they wanted to go home on time. They told me I needed to instead drive her over an hour away to Upstate Vet in Greenville (mind you I live about 10 minutes from Magnolia and I would have been there with 20 minutes left until closing) because they were the only other vet "in the area" who would take her at night. So I ended up going all the way to Greenville because they would have left my dog for dead rather than go home a little late one day. Despite my vomit filled car, I was just glad we made it to the real emergency vet clinic in time to get my dog help. The second particularly bad experience I had with Magnolia was when I took my kitten in for her regular appointment and shots, they cut her nails without asking first and only told me after it had already been done. They also did such a bad job and cut them so short that my poor kitten's nails were bleeding and one even split down the middle from the hack job they did on her. The poor baby cried all the way home and licked her paws incessantly in pain. I would NOT take my animals back there for emergencies or otherwise after their inconsiderate treatment of my animals. read more

We are so glad we found these vets. They were extremely knowledgeable, caring and supportive. We took our 17 year old cat in twice within a week for care and were given great care. There was really nothing that could be done for our sick cat, so shortly after that we had to tearfully have her put to sleep. Their staff and vet were wonderful and caring and made this sad experience so much better than it could have been at some other office. Prices are astronomical! Emergency fees are applied to every visit that is not scheduled far in advance (about a week). Emergency fees should be applied for 11:00 PM visits, but this place applies them if you bring in your pet at 2:00 PM even when there is no other pets being seen.
