We raised our dachshund, Pickles, from a small puppy and chose him as he was the runt of the liter. He never was as competitive as his brothers and sisters so trying to get fed, well, just wasn't as important as simply waiting his turn. It was his laid back personality and gentleness that melted our hearts. A keeper! Sixteen years later, Pickles reached a point in his life when it was time for him to depart from us in his physical form. THIS WAS HARD and still IS hard. As I type this, I am weeping. He was the best boy! That gentleness from his puppy years remained with him up to the very end, to his final breath... Dr. Walker and his staff were professional, compassionate, empathetic, and reassuring. We never felt rushed during planning and they made every effort to allow our sweet boy to cross the rainbow bridge peacefully and respectfully. He is in no more pain and I hope one day to see him again. We have another dog as well. She's a five year old energetic pit bull mix. They were so kind and patient with her. I took my pet in for a simple urinalysis and blood work. In looking at the way the visit is structured it is obvious why my dog became more anxious than on visits to other vets. Between the Vet and his assistant they must have come in and out of the room 15 times. Each time the door opens and closes common sense might tell an animal expert that a pets anxiety might increase. I was unable to receive the requested services because by the time they final got to take my pet back (after the 15 in and outs), "he was to anxious". A problem we have never had at any other Vet. They did complete the urinalysis and I had no problem paying for that but, was also stuck with an office visit when services could not be rendered. Poor customer service! Poor office visit structure. All the in and out made me stressed so imagine what it would be like for a pet. read more

Dr. Walker is in my opinion a very thorough vet. He does not rush the appointment and when i had questions on neutering our Large Breed dog and waiting for joints to grow more he took the time to pull up a study online regarding that to show me and discuss what age would be best for him. Vet Techs have also been very knowledgeable and helpful when i have called with questions. We have enjoyed this clinic and the friendly staff and Dr Walker. read more

Dr. Walker identified my dog's toe cancer where another local vet missed it. Dr. Walker spotted it in a second. He operated on my GSD and he's now running around as if nothing is wrong. Dr. Walker is sweet and kind to my boy. He'll sit on the floor with him and pet him while he talks to us. He even talks to him. He's compassionate and listens to what we have to say. While my dog was recovering, he offered to come to my home because my dog wouldn't stop crying. He was going to make the trip just to make sure he wasn't in pain. The staff is caring and understanding. They've become friendly with my boy. They always address my questions and return my calls. read more

BEWARE! I would like to give Walker Animal Hospital no stars if I could. Dr. Walker "supposedly" did the tightrope procedure on my dogs knee. After a long and horrible recovery/rehab my dog was not getting better. I took him to another vet because he was still limping. After numerous X-rays it became apparent that the surgery was not done properly, if at all. The vet could not locate any of the hardware on the X-rays that should have been visible when an animal has the ACL repaired. Because of Dr. Walkers ineptness my dog now has osteomyelitis in his knee with a fistula tract infection in his leg. He will now have to undergo bone biopsies and another surgery to hopefully fix all the damage Dr. Walker caused. Our vet has tried numerous times to contact Dr. Walkers office to speak to Dr. Walker and to get my dogs records. He has also emailed Dr. Walker to try and get my dogs records with no luck. No one from that office would return my vets call/emails or send my vet my dogs records. They also could not produce our records when I went by to pick them up. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! The office staff and doctor are extremely incompetent and rude and would not be able to take care of a flea. read more

Dr. Walker is fantastic! He went the extra mile to read lab results from other vets I have visited. He recommended a new medicine that's finally working!! You can tell he rally cares about your pet and really wants to figure it out... Some vets around here just want to take your money and don't really care if they ever find the actual issue even after you pay for huge lab test bills, and procedures.
