Believe all the high ratings this place gets..... The customer service you receive here is always top notch. The guys who run the place are all highly professional, experienced, respectful and polite...and when it comes time to being assertive for the sake of EVERYONE's safety, they are still highly professional and respectful - without coming across as condescending at all. Curtis is the one that my husband and I have come to know from Riverside Magnum Range and he is always helpful and friendly. If you ever need to know about advice on guns, ask him! The other guys (we don't know their names) are just as nice and answer any question we throw at them plus they are also very friendly. Don't get turned off or put on the defensive if they look or act too serious. They HAVE to keep a level of professionalism and seriousness (mainly for everyone's safety and security)....after all, it's a place where real guns and ammo are used AND it's not a mini golf venue, after all.... The range itself is awesome where the lanes are wide and you can keep all your belongings with you in the lane on a shelf underneath (which is nice so everyone's' stuff isn't on the wall behind plus women tend to like their purses close by). You don't feel cramped in your lane and the lighting is awesome all throughout in varying distances. Dress in layers because it's pretty cold in there..... Don't forget to ask if there's a raffle going on because you can get a chance to win a great firearm! I haven't won one yet but seeing all the past winners' prizes is pretty cool.... We were there on a Sunday at about 11 am and there was a little wait but it's always a good time to use to shop the gun counter! ;) Check out this place! I was verbally attacked for questioning the range policy of requiring a 3 month membership to fire an AR15 one time by a boy who works there. I questioned the policy when speaking to a young girl who also works there over the phone. I never said anything offensive, never cursed at anyone, and definitely never even raised my voice. But when I then still showed up to only shoot hand guns, because I didn't want to shell out $120 to shoot an AR15 one time, with a friend who lives near by (and is the only reason I came there) I was called out for being the person who had asked questions about the range policy. He knew who I was because I had mentioned that in Reno Nevada no gun range requires such a thing and my ID is a Nevada ID. The boy at the front desk then demanded an apology for my "tone". He obviously was trying to show the girl he works with that he is a tough guy.. he also said he was the owner when I asked if he was. Obviously he is not the owner because that would be hilarious for an owner to turn away business due to an honest question about range policy. But apparently I used such a harsh "tone" that I deserved to be turned away. Again.. because of my "tone" I was denied service for asking why I needed a 3 month membership in order to fire my AR15.. I hope this place shuts down. There are many better gun ranges in the vicinity where you are not attacked verbally by children who think they have the right to deny business to potential patrons who question policy. Questioning policy is a part of business. And if that child is actually the owner, God help him. Because no one else will. Go anywhere else. That place was EMPTY and I'm not surprised after experiencing such treatment for asking an honest question. Just unreal. read more

I usually dont write reviews and I actually signed up for yelp just to review this horrible place and warn people to stay away. I am a police officer and been into dozens of shooting ranges in my life, this is by far the worst and the rudest place I have ever been to, Im surprised they are even in business. When I first walk in, the front clerk with the arm tattoos who dressed up like he is police officer told me I have to pass a fire arm demonstration test, I told him I have alot of experience with fire arm, and he condescendingly say this is their regulations and if I dont like it I can leave. No other shooting range ever did something like this, so i thought "fine, easy enough" since I have 15 years of experience handling fire arms on the force, and let me tell you something, he had the worst demonstration anyone could've given, he had hes arm covering the gun most of the time and did not explain to you where the mechanisms are. After he handed the gun to me, I was able to do ever step but i was unable to cock the gun back for some reason, so i told him if the gun was defective or have a special trick to it since the gun would not stay cocked. I have handled different type of fire arms hundreds or maybe thousands time in my life and this has never happened before, after I polity asked him that he got super defensive and I kid you not, he told me to get out of the gun range. So I would strongly advice you not to go to this range, there are tons of other ranges that are so much better then this one. read more

First time to Magnum Gun Range, and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! As someone who is relatively new to shooting, I was a bit apprehensive at first, but the staff made me feel right at home. The range itself is has a spacious layout with multiple lanes, ensuring that everyone has enough room to practice comfortably. The staff at Magnum Gun Range are exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by friendly, knowledgeable personnel who were eager to assist. John Brinkman was thorough, taking the time to explain the fundamentals and answer our questions. We felt safe and well-informed throughout, which is crucial for someone just starting. Safety is clearly a top priority here. The range has clear safety protocols and rules that are strictly enforced. It created a reassuring atmosphere, knowing that everyone was committed to safe and responsible shooting practices. In addition to the shooting lanes, they provided hearing protection and safety goggles. Overall, our experience was nothing short of fantastic. John Brinkman was an excellent role model, clean cut, seemingly a law enforcement type and welcoming. I left feeling more confident in my abilities and with a desire to return soon. Our family had an extremely disappointing experience at Magnum Range. From the moment we walked in, we were met with rude attitudes. We were told we had to take a test before we could even shoot. My husband didn't pass their "simple" test, and they wouldn't even allow our son to try -- just turned us away on the spot. We come from a military and law enforcement background and have been shooting many times before. We've never been treated so poorly at a range. When I asked a simple question, the worker responded with a rude tone. It was unprofessional and left a bad impression. We decided right then to take our business to Randall's Riverside instead -- and it was the best decision we could have made. From the moment we arrived at Randall's, the staff greeted us warmly and explained everything in detail. Even Magnus the bear welcomed us at the entrance! The facility was clean, organized, and the staff's professionalism and friendliness made us feel safe and respected. If you're thinking about where to shoot, skip Magnum Range and go straight to Randall's Riverside. They know how to treat people right and create a welcoming, top-notch experience. read more

This place is awesome! I have never shot a gun before I came to Rancho Magnum Range. But after coming here a few times, I know how to operate all kinds of pistols, thanks to the helpful staff! The place is well-kept and clean and there is decent amount of selection of pistols and rifles on sale. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They are more than happy to help you with any questions and concerns that pop up while you're at the range. They also maintain a relaxed and friendly environment while enforcing rules to provide a safe environment for everyone at the range. There is also wide selection of guns that I was able to rent and shoot since I do not own a gun. I rented and shot sig sauer, 1911, glock, revolver, and shotgun, just to name a few. Every time I went, I picked a target, picked a gun, and walked in to start shooting right away with no wait! I hear they are renovating/expanding with new backstop for higher calibers and a new gear/accessory shop upstairs! Can't wait! All in All, every time I walk out of this place, I have a big grin on my face and couple of badass pictures haha. read more

Most recently, I was there re-qualifying for my CCW permit, and once again, the experience was outstanding. The facility is always clean, well-organized, and professionally run. She helped us schedule our group outing and was incredibly communicative and responsive throughout the entire process, making planning so easy and stress-free. When we arrived, Erika led our safety training with patience and clarity, ensuring everyone felt confident and prepared. She answered all of our questions, took the time to make sure we understood everything, and stayed attentive and supportive the whole time we were on the range. Alright i got here at 6:50pm and they close at 8pm. Last call clearly states an hour before closing which is 7pm. Butttt noooo some guy looking like a swat wannabe with his 10 glock mags, 3 Ar mags, handcuffs and armor walks to my car to say "sorry sir we just did last call" but i got here before 7 but no sorry. Whats up Magnum just cause i come here to shoot you have to send some juggernaut wannable to tell me completely bs. I REQUEST FOR THE OWNER to reach out to me because of this incident. Hey when your customers come here to shoot it takes planning ammo,rangebag,firearms,protection etc. But yet you treat me like im danger. Ive been a customer since 2009 but now ill take my business elsewhere. read more
