When it was finally my turn, the employee refused to even run the California ammo eligibility check on my driver's license. The reason? My license shows my city as "Rancho Cucamo" instead of spelling out "Rancho Cucamonga." This is a standard DMV abbreviation because the full city name is too long to fit on the license. Instead of simply running the check and letting the system decide, the employee said he didn't want to process it because the city wasn't spelled out fully. Waiting that long just to be turned away for something printed by the DMV was extremely frustrating. I understand stores have to follow California laws, but refusing to even try the check after a two-hour wait felt unprofessional and like a waste of a customer's time. Hopefully Bass Pro Shop improves training and customer service at the ammo counter so others don't have to deal with the same experience.

Special shout outs to Ethan who was one of the first staff members I interacted with and have since developed an immense gratitude for his knowledge and service attitude, frequently picking his brain and taking up his time, never making me feel rushed. Additionally aside from Ethan , it's been great getting to know Tyler and Kyle whom also exemplify great knowledge, great service, and general patience for a guy like me with a million questions. The shops selection is insane with your usual popular options and even select harder find options that aren't readily available at other lgs. The team/staff seem to be growing to match their high customer volume ( of which I have had the opportunity to work with through my several purchases ). Also while not directly involved in my purchases with processing paperwork's but often giving approval or influencing the deals that make purchases easy, Aubri has also been impactful and always takes the time to say hello! Don't buy anything from here unless you want to risk criminal charges ... bought a serialized p80…read moreframe from them that they had to register as a bolt action just to get it serialized but rip all of the components off before selling it to you just to get around California law . They told me to contact polymer 80 when I called them a week after receiving it since it was defective and received a new frame from polymer 80 with a different serial number . Now I'm out 700 bucks over something they should have handled because there was never any paperwork done on the new frame I received . Luckily everything is recorded , maybe I'll have to contact DOJ and let them know about this and the 1$ gun lock I supposedly bought since they won't even answer their phone ...luckily everything is recorded there...now I have to go out and buy a new gun out of pocket . They don't even answer their phone , shows how much they care about their customers .
