As always with life, your mileage may vary. Another you need to know it's there to go there place,…read morethe entrance to Lovibonds is tucked away in Greys Road car-park. It's a lovely building and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The beer, however, isn't really my cup of tea. They tend to brew things in what I think of as an American style and the beer is often very cold and fizzy. The best of the bunch is a bottled beer natured in JD casks but, at ten quid or so a bottle, you're not going to be downing a lot of it. Prices, in general, are steep but they don't seem to be struggling to survive. Worth a visit, if for no other reason than to say that you've been to the last remaining brewery in Henley.

In the summer the garden is a great sun trap, and in my opinion the best time and place to sample a cold pint. This is especially true on a saturday when there is ofter a BBQ on the go from 12ish. If you're not sure what beer to try a free tasting at the bar (with generous sample sizes) will help you decide. The guys there are very friendly and will provide old fashioned good service. I think it's worth the extra few pence to drink a premium craft beer as fresh as it gets, served in a glass (and not a plastic beaker a few other pubs in Henley reserve for outside drinkers). It's housed in a beautiful old building with much character detail intact, but has the drawback that in the winter it can get a little chilly, although it looks like some heaters have been installed now. You can always get some take away beer in a growler or mini keg to drink at home or for a picnic. I love the Growler (reusable 1 or 2L glass flagons) as there is zero packaging waste, and is most cost efficient.

And they play both types of music in here - Rock AND Roll. Goditt? Big, bald, aggressive looking blokes locking themselves in toilets in pairs and screeming, out-of-controll girls drink here on a saturday nite before hitting the Catherine Wheel down the road for fights and other illegal activities (probably). The beer is gassy and the place always stinks of bleach. Is that the only cleaning agent that will remove blood for the floor? Having said all that, there are some nice and friendly folk who drink here, or so they keep telling me. Their stap line is 'henley's best kept secret' - lets keep it that way. Please.

Nick, the owner, creates an atmosphere that makes all welcome and he has hired a wonderful staff that takes that message to heart! From staff to the dozen or so patrons with whom I engaged in warm conversion, everyone was wonderful! With a great crowd, cold beer, free darts and pool, this is definitely Henley's neighborhood pub!
