(Today was Wednesday, so I had to wait until Friday of the following week. ) I said ok just give me the maximum allowed today, and I'll retrieve the same tomorrow. The clerk seemed new, she went to ask another teller who told me I needed proof of why I needed the cash. I said I just need it to pay bills, and to have cash available. She said it was not enough, and that if I did not show proof, the bank can refuse to give me my money, to which I said fine, I own properties I have bills to pay, but if that's not enough for you, I'm buying a house. She wanted to see proof when I returned the following Friday. I was advised the reason was because there is a lot of fraud going and was provided with a form advising of the reasons why they could not give me my money. Is it a crime to take your own money out to pay for bills, or large purchases? Paying bills is not enough reason? I have to show you proof where my money goes? Your high school educated clerks need more training, and they need to remember that it is not their money they are handing the customer! I explained I was a real estate investor, I was not a drug dealer, and they could send the cops to my house If they need it to. Ultimately I asked for a cashier's check and closed my account.
