The path is full of boats and houses. If you're looking for a peaceful path full of trees and nature, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a simple place to kayak for an hour or 2, this is a great option.

A lady with a clipboard standing near a picnic table, which we were supposed to know worked there, but didn't know because it was our first time. And she wasn't wearing anything like a labeled shirt that would inform us she worked there. Also being our first time there we were not familiar with the route of the river and no one asked us or offered advice. When I did ask them which way to go, I was asked "Didn't you see the map?" Apparently I was supposed to see a map mural on the side of the building, but missed it when trying to figure out how to checkin. They also didn't mention the whitecaps in the lake or that there were restaurants along the way. The river route was very busy with boaters and other kayakers. There was also a very low bridge you have to duck under. On the positive side, we found it was nice to be able to kayak to the Castaways restaurant. They have a public kayak dock to pull up to, it was great. They have good food too. It was okay, but not welcoming for new people who are not familiar with the area.

Well I would have loved to start my reservation at the correct time and not delay your staff. I was late 20 minutes like you were 20 minutes on my reservation. If your delay made it to where my family and I could not enjoy ourselves on the water then you should have not let us start in the first place. We were not warned that our time was being cut short. I will not return to this location or any business that's states "Ernie" on the building as he kept pointing out. Canal Fulton canoe livery kayaks are well maintained and the staff are friendly. We will be recommending them to friends and family and avoiding this location for now on. So if you're thinking about kayaking here, look into canal Fulton... same water, better staff, better pricing, better trip!!!

Water was calm on our ride, but the 2nd we stopped paddling, these kayaks were immediately start to turn sideways or backwards. My son's kayak had a completely jammed seat back rendering it useless and his foot holders were broken so he got a sore back half way through the ride. My daughter's foot holders also broken. Lesson learned, assess the kayaks ur gonna have before they load them on the trailer or just take ur own if an option.

When I went to pay I told her I've never done this before and she talked to me like I was stupid. All I wanted to know was the prices and how many could go in each size. She was nasty about it and I bit my tongue because I didn't want to make a scene. After we got back it was a hassle to get our IDs back and one girl, maybe a bartender? Came out and started yelling at my friend because she had a beer. We just came off the canoe and were finishing our drinks. She acted like we were just sitting there to keep drinking and avoid paying at the bar. I just got done with the rude lady about the IDs and then after the bartender came out I couldn't handle their rudeness anymore. You would think after all the business we brought them we would be treated better. And I'm not asking for special treatment. I'm just asking for them to treat us with respect and no attitude. For these reasons we will not be coming back. After I shared this experience with friends I found out there's better places to go canoeing so we will go there instead.
