They advised me that I am out of their service area but then went on to tell me what fungal disease the tree had and also advised that it was beyond saving and should be removed asap. Mahwah Tree is the best tree service around. It starts with Chris, who is one of the owners. He came to my property on Monday morning when I called on Sunday evening. Chris did a thorough assessment. He also gave me options, from simply taking care of the immediate problem (a large and dangerous dangling limb near my home) to a more thorough long-term solution to several issues (I have a lot of old trees on my property). There was no upselling, just good information to help make a decision. This is now the second time I have used Mahwah Tree Service, and both times the crew was great. Tim and Chris and the whole team at Mahwah Tree are great to work with. They removed four huge old half dead trees from my yard that were in a very difficult spot and close to my house and the neighbors house. They have the equipment and the experience to do this kind of work. They made it look easy but it was definitely not. They did the job very carefully so that there was no damage to my yard or house or the next door neighbors. I had to wait a while to get them here but it was worth it. I was incredibly happy with the excellent work Mahwah Tree provided. Every step of the process (from scheduling an estimate to the "clean up" after the work was performed) was a "five star" worthy experience. I had them come to give me an estimate for a specific issue I was having with a partially broken branch on my property and asked them to do a full "check up" on the other trees. They gave me an honest estimate - never trying to "upsell" me and even explaining to me why I didn't need certain work I thought (mistakenly) might be needed. They could have easily taken my money for work that wasn't really needed but, instead, they were honest and candid about what was needed, what might be recommended and what I didn't need at all. I was very satisfied with the price (which was much less than what I anticipated) and scheduled the work for the following week. When the team showed up (on time as scheduled) they came ready to WORK! They knocked off the list of tasks efficiently but with precision and focus. They cleaned up after themselves in a way that left NOTHING for me to do. I was incredibly impressed by Mahwah Tree in every way. I've worked with countless contractors and rarely have I had such an overwhelmingly positive experience with "no notes" and nothing I would have liked done differently. I will be sure to recommend them to all my neighbors, friends and colleagues. I found them on a Google search myself and hoped the reviews were accurate (but was skeptical). Didn't give them a easy job. Multiple trees hanging over fences, grinding 12 stumps, not easily accessible, and trees right next to neighbors fence. Made trimmed trees look natural, cleaned up after themselves. Quick turn around from start to finish, about 3 weeks, which is half of my past experiences with other companies. All and all A++. Oh by the way, they were also pleasant, and accommodating to my weird schedule. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would (please note I have never taken the time to write a review before). I received very poor service and worse attitude from the owner/president of Mahwah Tree. He was condescending and disrespectful and said he "didn't have time for me" when I called to discuss my concern. this company was cutting my neighbours' trees and upon leaving backed their equipment and truck over my lawn, over the bricks bordering my driveway in order to turn around and leave. the driver then drove out and backed over the lawn and bricks one more time and i had to go running out and yell at him to stop. and i was thinking of using them to cut down my trees, but not now! awful! read more

My family has now used the exceptional service provided by Mahwah tree for the third time. I was prompted to to write this review due to the fact that my mother who is elderly and lives alone recently needed emergency tree removal after a snowstorm. Mahwah tree service had previously done work for my parents as well as myself and when I called them after business hours my call was returned at 0730 the next day, not only did Chris one of the co-owners remember me from 5 years earlier he remembered my father as well. Chris made a appointment and was at the house the same day !! Professional, polite and very respectful of my mother and the fact that she was a recent widow and was very nervous. Chris answered all the questions and described exactly what would be done. The crew was at the house the next day at 8am a half hour early, not only did they remove the tree and two other very large shrubs that had fallen but helped my mother remove items from the garage and do some other yard trimming all while being nothings but polite and patient with my mother who is in her 80s and can be a tad picky. Three stumps were ground out and after it seemed as if no work had been done cause the yard was so cleans This kind of service and the fact that this crew was so nice to my mom can not be described in a review except to say they were nothing but exceptional.
