This was right at the heaviest time after the storm, when everyone's power was still out, there were trees blocking all the roads ... I must have called at least 20 different arborists and left messages for all of them. I got a call back from a scheduler in the office before long, and Bob Wilson came out to look at my property and give me an estimate later that same day. A very nice guy. He was able to schedule the crew to come out and do the work the very next morning. They showed up right when he said they would. The total bill came out to less than the estimated amount. I received a follow-up phone call the next day from someone in the office to make sure everything had been satisfactory, which it was. Later that next day, Bob himself dropped by unexpectedly in the middle of the nor'easter, snow blowing all over the place, to offer to give me a hand putting a tarp on the roof where the trees had crashed down on it. The reason why I selected Happy Trees Services is bc 1) they came out right away letting me know when they could cone out to provide the estimate and actually came out when they said they would, 2) Mike was really personable and straight forward about his tree removal service-how he remove the trees n provided recommendations of which trees were dying/dead n based on his experience bc we have limit of how many trees we could remove per ordinance, the town would be more lenient on the dead tree removal-clean up, and 3) Mike literally gave me the estimate as we finished the walk through. There was no, "i'll put together the estimate n get back to you with a quote". It showed that he knew what the job would entail n just gave me a quote on the spot-then backed it up with a written quote. So I felt confident that he knew what he was doing. I again asked them if the estimates are free the person who answered the phone said "absolutely". Two days later someone from Timberline called to make an appointment and told me the estimate costs $200. I told him that is not what the website or the person who answered the phone said. He told me the estimate is free only if we cut down the tree. That is not what is written. How can you trust a place that has false advertisement and lies before you use them . Every other arborist I call give legitimate free estimates.
