While browsing, staff watched me closely, making me feel like a potential thief rather than a customer. It was frustrating and left a poor first impression. Pros: Acknowledged walk-ins exist. Cons: No proactive scheduling option or follow-up. Uncomfortable, watchful atmosphere. Lacked warmth and welcoming service. Suggestions: offer future-appointment options, greet customers, explain wait times, and create a friendlier, more inviting environment.

I also understand that it's a mechanism eye doctors use to protect themselves from lawsuits. I come from a line of surgeons, and they find methods to curb malpractice lawsuits everyday. The staff could benefit with more training, be that service or technicals. Things are going to get worst for Texas businesses in general when transplants begin to saturate the the local market with skilled professionals, which has already begun. Very quickly, you can toss a penny and hit eye doctors with your eyes closed, no pun intended. More choices are always better.

I've been going to America's Best for years, and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had…read moreat any location. The doctor was incredibly rude and dismissive. I tried explaining that the contact lens prescription he gave me was extremely blurry and that I literally could not see well enough to wear them out safely. Instead of listening, he had me read a numeric line quickly and immediately said, "Nope, you're fine." At that point, since I was clearly such a bother to him, I told him it was okay and that I would just go somewhere else. He then sarcastically responded, "They're gonna tell you the same thing." Completely unprofessional and unnecessary. On top of that, the cleanliness of this location was absolutely disgusting. The mirrors were dirty, the sinks were rusted and filthy, and the entire office felt unhygienic. It honestly made me not want to touch anything. Very disappointing experience overall. I will not be returning to this location.

The rest was the job of sales person in the front to help me. I can do only so much. There were so many styles. Based on my insurance coverage, I could get the brand name frames. So, I chose Oakley. Stylish and light weight. I had a few of my fashion consultants standing by to help me choose a frame that was suitable for my face. A friendly saleswoman helped me to place the order. She mentioned if I get a 2nd pair I would get 40% off. Heck yeah. I picked up the Pair Eyewear style, which comes with detachable tops. That was my main reason changing my vision insurance company because American's Best has this type of frames. On December 10th, I received a text message saying they were ready. But that was only the first pair. I waited weeks and no call no text. I went in today December 19 to find out that was already ready. When I got home, I found out the topper for the Pair Kirby was not the color I chose. I wanted turquoise but the salesperson put in the order as black sparkle. That's ugly as hell. That means I have to go back for the 3rd time to get it right. Both glasses lenses were dirty. They didn't even include a lens clothes. PairEyewear.com has much more styles and selections and cheaper too. Now I know why there are so many 1-star reviews.

During our visit, I was told she could not be seen because of this. When I asked for clarification, I was told there are "places for those people." That response was both unprofessional and disheartening. I understand that not every office has the same level of training or experience, but there is a clear difference between appropriately referring a patient and how that message is communicated. No attempt was made to explore alternative testing methods or accommodations. After sharing my experience publicly, the office responded stating they did not have the training to examine my daughter and chose not to proceed because they would not "do a good job." Families deserve to be treated with respect, even when a provider may not be the right fit. I hope this feedback encourages more awareness and better communication in the future.

The front desk staff was polite and helpful, but my interaction with Dr. Thanh Huynh was the complete opposite. She came into the room with an attitude that was rude, short, and dismissive from the very beginning. When she mentioned additional services and something about "special glasses," I asked her what that meant because I genuinely didn't understand. Instead of explaining it, she brushed me off like I was bothering her. There was no patience, no clarity, and absolutely no effort to make sure I understood what she was recommending. What upset me the most was how she spoke to and handled my children. She was noticeably irritated with them even though they weren't doing anything wrong. As a mother, that instantly threw me off. There is no reason for a doctor who works with families to be that harsh or cold toward kids. During the exam she also held the bright light in my eyes for an unnecessarily long time, and it felt uncomfortable and careless. The whole interaction lacked professionalism, compassion, and basic respect. I will never return to this office solely because of her. The front desk treated us well, but Dr. Huynh's attitude and behavior completely ruined the visit. Patients deserve to feel respected and clearly informed, and that is not what we received here.

My first visit here was kind of weird, but I can understand that because I came in a bit before they were closing. I immediately fell in love with a pair of black frames and said I'd be back. On my second visit, the staff was exceedingly friendly. I didn't feel too bad for trying on so many glasses. Tuyen was especially helpful and proceeded to tell me every little detail I needed to know about each pair, and when I asked, "How do these frames look?" she gave me her honest opinion in a very mannered way. Before having them make my lenses we did a vision test and it turned out that my optometrist had given me a prescription that made me feel very dizzy. They were very patient with me as we tried to sort it out, and the optometrist at beechnut optical offered to check my eyes there and then and issue me a new prescription. Although there was a little bump in the process because of my original optometrist, they took care of me and I love my new glasses. The prices are more reasonable than the Vision Source I normally go to and the hours are better since they close at 7 PM. I highly recommend coming here. They make you feel less like a patient and more like a person.

I've read up on it and it's to discourage buying really crappy and unsterile products from off-market. They were very nice on phone and in person, you should REALLY order 2 weeks-3 weeks before Halloween because some items are more custom drawn. I saw: zombie, vampire, spinning top, hellraiser etc designs. NO SCLERA, that's more theatrical purposes. I got my traditional vampire lens a week after order. insurance does NOT cover this of course, it's cosmetic and I paid $60 I think for 2 lens. You can come back after you wear them and they will reseal the lens in the vials they come in. I unfortunately did not find the lens super comfortable. It might be because I have some chronic dryness from previous contact use and am used to the very breathable and light daily disposables. These are somewhat thicker but vision was great, I used drops to moisten eye etc. Will re-order for next Halloween!
