I recently moved to the neighborhood and was looking to update my prescription for my glasses. After some looking around online I found this fantastic place based on reviews on Google as well as yelp. It was quick and efficient to make an appointment and they give you a reminder call just in case you forget. On the day of my visit I was impressed by the waiting area which was very modern and chic. The receptionist was warm and welcoming and even though I was new to this place I felt very comfortable. After a brief intake by the technician I was greeted the Doctor Who took the time to listen to my past history with stigmatism And conducted a thorough exam and concluded that I needed an updated prescription. I was able to select a pair of frames while I was waiting and they gave me a great deal. I have been rocking my new prescription and frames for the past week and couldn't be happier. I was so happy to find someone close by, for my kids. I was not loving my older place, they were a bit pushy when it came to buying things, whereas here they were not. I know I saw some older reviews that said they were pushy, I did not experience that at all. The Dr. was so patient with my son, it made the experience so much easier. I I walked into the place, needed to talk to the doctor because I have a lense I got stuck on my own. She told me to make an appointment for the next day and all the procedure will take a look on my eye and tell me if there is loads in there or not. I came back next day in the morning. First thing she told me it's gonna cost you $250 to look at your eye. I said mam I don't need an examination just for someone to look at my eye she said we don't care, that's podcast I walked away for customer service and human I gave them zero pets for the heck of it I'm gonna give him one read more

A really good and through exam. No complaints it is just after the exam you get bombarded with upsale. This includes eye drops for dry eyes $33.00, then you need the eye pillow $30.00. Oh wait forgot the fish oil tablets four a day another $30.00. Then you are asked to come back with another appointment to check your dry eyes. It's like geez chill. I also agreed to take a test for my tear ducks another $30.00 dollars. That test I was ok with but I was ready to go after my test. Very unprofessional, if you ONLy want to loose both your time and money only go here! Dr. Sonia did my routine check up and I ordered my new glasses based on her prescription, I was not feeling comfortable at all with my new glasses; I contacted them one more time making sure Costco made my glasses right which was the case and I realized from Dr. Sariah that they made a mistake on my prescription! She just simply gave me another prescription asking me to deal with who ever made my glasses!!!!! I have a big doubt about their knowledge and unfortunately used my insurance already for myself and my daughter without having any confident on what they did, I will probably ending up using my former glasses and find a professional optometrist to check my daughter and myself. If I could give them ZERO I would absolutely do that!!!! Update: I got my second pair of glass based on the corrected! Prescription and as soon as I put it on, I was almost blind!!! I called the doctor office and they told me this time Costco did not make your glass right (which is absolutely incorrect) and I think they gave me a wrong prescription using only what ever their machine says and also giving me near distance lenses without any further test and just due to my age and my lenses numbers!! I'm ending up to use my former prescription where as I paid them and also used my insurance and also paid for incorrect lenses!! A VERY COSTLY AND TIME CONSUMING LESSON LEARNED!!! read more

I had lasik 11 years back elsewhere and noticed my vision wasn't quite as sharp as before so I went to Pro-Optix for an exam. Dr Malik and her staff were super friendly, professional and helpful. In addition to a traditional eye exam, they did very thorough retinal imaging which my previous dr hadn't done before. When it came time to pick my frames, Dr Malik herself and her staff were super helpful and patient while I tried on at least 15 pairs of glasses. They ordered the frames I wanted in a color that wasn't available in the office and they were ready within a matter of days. I love them so much, I wear them even when it's not necessary (I hardly even needed glasses, the frames were just that cute). From start to finish everyone in the office went above and beyond making sure I understood every step in the exam process. My family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) all went for exams and all needed glasses. It was fun picking frames and everyone in the office helped giving an opinion on frames. Even Dr. Malik jump in and picked my frame with ease. That was cool! The office is decorated like a boutique hotel lobby and they have a pretty good selection of frames. Dr. Malik hands down is the best OD in the business she gave a prescription that now I can see crystal clear and I must add has an vogue Italia style! Nice staff that actually talks you through as you try on different glasses. It was cool that they were engaged because it's hard to decide on a suitable pair when you visit by yourself. I am very pleased with this business. The appointment setting was dead easy and extremely convenient through Zodoc. I found an appointment for my son and I for the same day. They are in my network which was wonderful too because I had a very small copay and we had great benefits for frames and lenses. Dr. Malik was very professional and thorough in her examination. Her approach to treating a pediatric patient as well as an adult, was impeccable and extremely pleasant. The office is brand new and tastefully decorate, and the location could not be more convenient (In the parking lot of the new HEB on San Felipe and Fountain view). They also have state of the art medical equipment and a nice collection of frames as well as sunglasses. We ordered our frames and they were offered for one week after. I really wanted to like this optometry office and remain a patient/customer, but my last experience was so bad, I'm hesitant to get eyeglasses at an office ever again. I will say that my first visit was excellent-- the building is incredibly clean and glamorous, and one of the sisters that did my check-up was kind. I think it was Regina who worked their desk at this time, and she was incredibly patient with me when she showed me how to put in contact lenses for the first time. I had to return to get my eyes dilated another time, and I got the other sister as the optometrist. She came off more cold, and her prescription was different from my initial visit with the other sister. I got my lenses replaced in the frames I was wearing at the time, and it went perfectly well. My second annual check-up will be my last. I brought in my favorite frames to have new lenses put in. The woman who worked at the desk at this time was pushy in me buying new frames from them, but I insisted that these are my favorite frames (that can't be ordered anymore), and that I have no intention in getting new ones. I went ahead and ordered the lenses and brought them in another day to have them placed in. She came back and said in almost a joking matter that she had bad news and cracked my frames. I was very heartbroken over it, but I do understand that plastic frames can be delicate, and I'm sure this happens more than I expect. It's how this woman handled it that bothered me. She kept twisting my frames around more than she needed to in order to show me how broken they were, and I feel like that further damaged them. I asked what they can do for me at this point, and she kept repeating that I can buy frames from them. I had already declined the first time since I didn't like their options, so this wasn't going to make me suddenly like them any more. I had already paid for the new lenses as well. The good news is that they will refund your money for the lenses in this scenario, but the bad news is that they can't offer any replacements/discounts when it was their fault. I'm sure it's in the paperwork that they have you sign that they're not liable for any damages on items that weren't bought through them. I just hoped this office would have done more for me when it was their fault. It was salt to the wound when the woman kept bending my frames to tell me they were broken, and that she ultimately was rude to me. A minor downside to this office is that they never seem to have samples for eyedrops when I was there. I was so relieved at my first visit when the optometrist told me my irritation was from dry eyes. She suggested preservative-free drops, but she "ran out of samples" for me to try. The year after that, I showed the optometrist the preservative-free drops I had been using, and she told me that brand is bad. When I asked her if she had samples of a brand she suggests I use, she said they had "run out". I never had an idea of what eyedrops I should have used, and it was a shame I couldn't try what they felt was better for me. I ended up using the prescription they gave me to order glasses online. I much like this option more, but after that last experience, I'll be going to a different office to get my eyes checked. read more

I've been to them twice, mainly because the location is conveniently located to my home. My prescription was done correctly but the whole experience is over shadowed by up selling and poor communication. They stated they offer a price match on contacts but ultimately didn't price match. I had to make multiple text/call/emails for them to clarify their price match policy. The communication is generally lacking. I referred a friend to them and he sent the insurance information over to them and they said they would contact him after they verify his information. He sent that insurance information over two days before the appointment. The day of the appointment they state they are out of network and they can do the appointment for $750! I will never go back or refer anyone to them again. This only reinforced my perception that they are more focused on the money rather than the client experience. read more

Scheduled my appointment through Zocdoc.com and completed my personal info, medical hx, and signed consent forms all online. I do like how I can get all these things done online and out of the way prior to my appointment - definitely a time saver. It was most especially beneficial to me since I scheduled my appointment during my hour lunch break. I informed Dr. Sana that I only have an hour allotted for the appointment and she was very understanding and took care of me quickly but efficiently given the time constraint. I was able to get in and out without getting passed my lunch break. Staff was exceptional and professional, the clinic is beautifully and luxuriously designed, and overall experience definitely deserves 5 stars.
