I had to call him on a weekend to get it refilled as I need this medicine every day. He said he wasn't going to spend the time waiting on the phone with the pharmacy because it takes 20 minutes, and that I'll just have to miss 2 days of my medicine. This is completely unacceptable and when I called my pharmacy to follow up they said there was no wait time to speak to them if a physician calls. I will definitely be finding a new doctor who cares more about his patients.

My father was placed here following a major stroke. It felt like whenever we requested anything from help to get my father into a wheel chair to take him to the courtyard, to something simple like an extra pillow, it was as if we were asking her to do the impossible. My father fell out of bed a few times and they stationed a nurse outside his room to monitor him. After 2 days, they told my mother she needed to sleep there overnight every night as they could no longer afford to keep the nurse outside his room. Excuse me, what? -- Parking is in the structure 1st and 3rd floors. Grab a ticket on your way in and self validate with a stamp at the nurse's station located in front of the elevators on the floor you're visiting.

I was very fortunate when I went to the ER, Dr. Oyama just so happened to be there to check me out. Backing up a little. What lead me to going to the ER? Long story short, I was helping a friend move a washing machine up some massive amount of stairs and I blacked out. My primary doctor said to go to the ER right away. I did, CT Scan, MRI, X-ray, etc, etc, etc. Those all came back showing I was in pretty good shape. This is where Dr. Oyama expertise comes in. He ordered my blood to be tested a couple of times. He noticed the troponin levels kept going up which is a sign of a heart attack. He said the only way to really know what's going on is to do an angiogram the following day which we did and he found one of my valves was 100% and another one 95% blocked. He ended up putting a Stent in and the rest is history. He and my primary doctor put me on a heart healthy diet. I can't say I'm enjoying it but I'm enjoying being 6 feet above ground and not under. I recommend seeing Dr. Oyama if you are looking for a good cardiologist that is thorough because he is the man or shall I say doctor.

Before you know it your waking up than they will give you POG juice or water . Than the next step they will call your ride to pick you up from the front entrance curbside. It was a very smooth experience from start to end . Actually I been here before so I'm an expert lol. It's not bad being violated in the rear . The worst part like everyone says it's the day before the prep. Drinking the Miralax mix and also not eating over 48hrs yuck. Besides inpatient services at POB III they also provide services at Queen's-West Oahu, their Healthcare Centers on the Neighbor Islands, and outpatient cardiology. They share a remodeled check in and waiting area with the Geriatric Practice. When you are called a nurse will greet you, go over your current medication list, weigh you, and take vitals. You will then be assigned a room, probably by an APRN who will gather or provide more specific information for your visit. The physicians here work closely with their own dedicated APRNs. There may also be someone undergoing clinical CVD training shadowing the physician. I am very comfortable with how they work together as a team. When you and your physician are done the APRN or RN will walk you to an area where you will make your next appointment and receive a summary of your visit. Someone will direct you to the exit area which is in a different area from the reception waiting area. This is an extremely busy practice and despite the apparent size they have to cram in their staff wherever there is space. I've found the physicians and APRNs are always patient and engaged, and helpful in clearly explaining options and procedures. Count me satisfied and happy.
