three levels of fish tanks all around the store for you to see!
Simon K.

When you want a wide variety of goldfish.. not just fish.. but the pretty variety, and nothing else will do.. this is probably the most likely place you will find some pretty finned friends. This store has been around since I was young and we would always go see what was new. Just like vegetables, goldfish only come in season, and when the goldfish store owners can get supply. Gone are the days of the old man who use to run this store, and I have a feeling he probably sold the business to a different family, it just feels different coming in now. A very non-talkative male is usually up front from the last few times I was here just waiting for you to ask him to take a fish out and be on your way so he could do something better than put on any hint of a smile, but really, you're here for the water creatures. From oranda's, to comet's, to ryukin, to lionhead, to ranchu, to pearl scale, to red cap, to black moor, to bubble eye, to koi, and some other variety of goldfish, this is the place to be to find that special finned friend. They are not all about goldfish, but the majority is. No salt water from my visits, but other things like parrot fish, to oscar's to tropical fish are pretty abundant as well. They carry a good range of fish tanks, and supplies, to either decorate the tank, to maintaining things, this store has you covered. From the outside, this place really needs a good power wash, it's looking it's age, but the inside, and all the tanks are kept pretty pristine. Communication between you and the person you need help from is minimal to you wanting a fish, him coming over, you pointing, him getting a bag, getting the fish, putting it in the bag, tying it up, walking up to the front counter, taking your money.. and you are gone! Other than that, enjoy looking at the variety and quantity this store has.

This is the only MALE location for small pets in the nearby greater vancouver area. So each…read morePETSMART only has one gender. This ensures they don't accidentally have ballooning litters by accident even if the staff can't sex the critters. A smart move. And it also makes it easier to know if they have a pet or not. In the gender you want. For example I don't like boar cleanings. So I only want female guinea pigs. Males need cleanings and it's so gross not my cup of tea. Where as with Syrians I prefer males to females cuz females go into heat every 4 nights and some of them let off an aroma that attracts males but it stinks up the room. Every 4 nights so for me. Male Syrians are preferred. Anyways. Wanted a male robo and swung by here last day of their sales and got one.

I had passed by this mall-on-a-hill many times before without giving much thought about the specific stores/restaurants that are there. Petsmart shares the higher level with the Canadian Tire and Boston Pizza/Starbucks entrances. Walked in and I was struck by the open bright space. All the aisles were labelled clearly by pet, and we saw our fair share of pets wandering the aisles with their owners. We found the cat litter aisle in two seconds flat, but it was harder to find our specific brand/type. Thankfully we flagged down an employee and he helped us locate our product easily. Took the bag to the front, purchased it, and we were off on our next set of errands without breaking a sweat! Liking this location: new, bright, clean, easy to navigate layout and helpful staff, and lots of parking!

A few weeks ago I had, for the second time, a disappointment leaving my Maltese to have its hair…read morecut. I left my dog at 1 PM and after 4 hours she called me saying that it still hadn't been cut and that I should come back to pick up the dog. That day I had a trip planned to the USA that evening, and I was counting on taking my dog with us already with its hair cut. Well, the manager on duty that day had to request and approve overtime for the employee to try to solve my problem and cut the dog's hair later before the store closed. Because of that, my dog was locked up for approximately 6 hours at PetSmart without food and completely traumatized from being away from its owners for so long. I was very frustrated and disappointed with all of this, besides the fact that the dog's haircut ended up full of imperfections with several waves across the body, and in the end, they still charged me the full price and I had to ask for a discount. I will never go back!!!

Booked a cat grooming online and was sent a confirmation email and told everything was set and…read moreready, however upon arrival we were told that the groomer we booked with was unavailable at the booked time. Supposedly we were also waitlisted, but our email confirmed our booking was ready, saying nothing about a waitlist. I was told they called us many times to cancel, however we checked our call history and it was twice, the second one being minutes before our appointment, with NO VOICEMAIL LEFT either time. We did not pick up said calls as it registered as spam and they did not bother to text or email DESPITE HAVING ALL OUR CONTACT INFORMATION. We put our cat through unnecessary stress in a carrier on the bus to PetSmart only to be turned away. Now we still have a stinky cat, and now a stressed one at that. Thanks so much!!! The site needs to be updated if groomers are unavailable, don't let people make bookings on those times and then barely try to contact us back. If you call someone to cancel and they don't pick up, here's a hint: TEXT. EMAIL. VOICEMAIL.

Title: 2 Months of Trauma & Negligence - A Nightmare for My Pet and Family…read more I am sharing our story and the attached photos to inform every pet owner in Vancouver. What should have been a standard surgery turned into a two-month ordeal of physical suffering for my dog, Hebeh, and deep emotional distress for my entire family. 1. Medical Issues & Double Surgery: After paying $1,628 for a bite wound surgery, the site turned necrotic (dead tissue). A second veterinarian confirmed that the sutures were applied incorrectly, cutting off blood circulation. Because of this, my dog had to undergo a second surgery at another clinic to fix the issue. I ended up paying twice for a procedure that should have been done correctly the first time. 2. High Costs & Unnecessary Risks: When I returned for a drain removal, the clinic quoted $1,200-$1,500 and suggested general anesthesia. I went elsewhere, and the drain was removed safely without anesthesia for a fraction of the cost. They also charged over $200 for a "consultation" where nothing was done. 3. Lack of Accountability: When I reached out to management for an explanation, they were dismissive and unresponsive, eventually suggesting I file a complaint, and offered no refund. 4. Impact on My Family: Seeing the necrotic tissue on our dog was very upsetting for my 2-year-old child, my elderly mother, and my wife. The experience has caused significant stress for all of us. I am sharing this review so other pet owners can make informed decisions based on our experience.

She asked me to repeat every detail (weight, age, when, what, what, etc) at least five times. Twenty minutes later, she referred to my dog as a cat. That's when I asked to speak to someone else. I was on hold for another 23 minutes, at which time I hung up. This is an emergency hospital! For your sake and the sake of your pet--go elsewhere!
