Such a cool old school Italian deli. Feel like you step back in time. The decor is cool, cozy and dark inside, soft booths to sit in, and bar area to sit. Service was fast. And friendly. The chicken salad sandwich was homemade style, with not a ton a different things in it, bread was super soft but toast, so good! Ham and cheese on the onion roll was also good. Clam chowder was good as well. If we lived close by, this would be a weekly stop.

This business is located in the downtown area. We found street parking near the restaurant. There were several areas to sit inside of the business. We were greeted upon our arrival and our server was attentive. We decided to get the business lunch deal. This deal consisted of your choice of a sandwich, soup or chili, and a salad for around $11. I got the chili with my sandwich and salad. My meal tasted good and was worth the money. I did have some food leftover. I would come back if I was in the area again.

Biting into one of these sandwiches transports you back to your childhood having a delicious homemade sandwich made by mom. It's been around since the 50's and it looks it in the best way. Prices are reasonable and the service is efficient. They have plenty of seating and a small bar you can sit at. Whenever I come to Sarasota I make it my business to stop here. The sandwiches, soups and chili are all all incredible and live rent free in my mind.

Good egg salad sandwich packed with quality. Quick take out service. Very friendly employees. Stopped for lunch to go and tried the egg salad on pumpernickel bread. It was delightful! Took about 5 min and I was on my way. M I'll be back!

The Mayan (sans tomato) portions are very small for the price, and sandwiches are served a la carte

We enjoyed our sandwiches (the Mayan for me, and the New Orleans muffuletta for him). The "ambiance" is unique, like stepping back in time. I would not describe it as cozy by any means. We were a bit disappointed with table service & portions. $36 for two small sandwiches, two drinks, and two bags of potato chips.

Drinks very reasonable and decent volume/quantity/pour. A buck for my soda water with lemon..... a bargain for the driver and non-drinker! The boss got 10 wings, 1/2 parm cheese and 1/2 barbecue. The reputation is best wings in Sarasota??? She like flats only and we paid $1 for just flats. This was a very nice option as I the whole food plant based "spartan vegan" will usually cringe at leaving those drums behind or wasted??? I did try one of each though. I believe they are baked and then before serving deep fried to crisp them up and heat them. Sadly the barbecued ones where burnt (see picture) and a little too crisped. The meat and most of the wing and the flavor was pretty good. 5/10 The parm wings where actually the opposite and the meat and wing undercooked, but the deep fry dunking crisped up the skin which would have been really raw and rubbery. These were also seasoned nicely and tasty. 8/10 Both easily fantastic with attention to pre-cooking and cooking? I got the Cup o' Spuds (sweet potato) in a little basket. These were pretty deeply fried and a few blackened/burnt but were nice and hot and flavorful and couple burned gave it some character and was a big deal. The menu is very limited for whole food plant based, vegetarian, vegan, nutritarian mix and match or anything....... so went with one of the three salads. the Side Salad I got an entree size. Romaine, diced tomatoes, cucumbers and black olives and a balsamic. My server missed my point after the second ask about adding "protein". I would have LOVED to have seen some black, pinto, kidney, navy, garbanzo, or any kind of BEANS to add to this salad as a "PROTEIN" or a quinoa, or even scoop of rice or edamame or even a few chunks of toasted or grilled tofu!!!! The salad ingredients were fresh and a nice amount of each. Dressing good but I only used a little since I thought I had asked for Balsamic Vinegar (no oil) and this was a Balsamic "Dressing" with actually quite a bit of oil. Service by "Nightime Bar B" was very attentive and friendly. REALLY good! Fielded our myriad of questions and we were never wanting or waiting. We had a long discussion about the wings which is why my wife wanted to go here. Maybe I should have put this first.......but the pricing was EXTREMELY reasonable especially for Main Street and I guess technically IN Season? The drinks about $12 for a Cosmo, Tito and club $10 ? Tax, tags, tip at 20% plus and we got out under $70 for two!!! VERY nice! Good spot. We will be back!!! As we have just about completed the Mainstreet and City of Sarasota circuit these guys are in the "rotation" for a before cabaret or full production play at the FST.

Another OUCH I wanted so much to love this place but when you're eating your meal and thinking my OJ at home is sooo much better than this one. I wonder how long this bacon has been sitting around because it's dry and tough? THAT's NOT GOOD. Food should taste fresh as though it was just made, FOR ME. This food was not. It lacked flavor was not very warm and again did not express freshness. Bagel was also just okay. No where near a New York Bagel. Overall for a restaurant to be memorable each individual item has to be the best. This results in a total amazing meal. This meal unfortunately was not amazing just Okay. What was good? Glad you asked. Coffee was warm & tasted good. Extra points for providing real cream on the side. Love that! It's a great touch! The cream cheese was excellent. Service was also good. I think this place has great potential but definitely needs a new chef with more upscale, fresh ideas.

The original, iconic Wolfie Cohen's Rascal House and Wolfie's Delicatessen in Miami Beach & Sunny Isles closed in 2008. The original Miami Beach locations were famous landmarks for 50 years before closing. We almost missed the deli. It's sort of around the corner in a little alleyway. We walked in past the bakery, deli meats, salads, and desserts before getting to the maître D. Danielle waited on us, she was informative and on point. We shared a pastrami on Rye and a potato knish. It was a lot of memorabilia inside as well as a full bar. We sat outdoors. It was a beautiful afternoon. Our potato knish was large. It was enough for two of us, a little cold in the middle. Our pastrami sandwich was too big to fit in my mouth, the meat was a little dry and tough. The dessert we ordered 4 Rugelach that tasted more like cake. I'm glad we shared because this would've been much too much to eat on my own. There seem to be confusion between our waitress and the kitchen, either they brought out something that we didn't order or nothing came out and Danielle thought we were serve served. Our shared dinner was reasonable, $40 for the both of us.

IT is located at the old micky's location on Pineapple and Ringling. A new paint job has lightened up the building and sitting outside when it is nice out is a welcome change. As you might expect from the name, Panini's are the main thing going on here. I ordered the "spicy" sausage panini and my co-workers sampled other of the short list of things offered. I have no problem with short lists at restaurants, keeps down the microwaving, but the offerings are fairly similar (turkey Vs chicken). One thing I liked was the panini was served with plantain chips and some decent fruit as sides. A nice change. But what I didn't like was I got 3 chips and a ton of fruit and my coworker to the right got three bits of apple and a ton of chips! Some QC is need as the plates go out, which was kind of slow as well. The sandwich was good, not great. And in no way was that a spicy sausage hiding in my panini. I know "spicy" food in Sarasota is often toned down, but they would have been better off calling it a savory sausage instead of spicy. There is a sweet version offered as well, but I typically prefer spicy as all too often I've been seen breakfast links passed off as sweet sausage (which they are) but that is not what I'm looking for during lunch. For the price, the slow service and the strange proportions of sides, the size of the sandwich, panini press gets 2 stars.
