Even with the bad reviews, we still came here because we NEEDED to do laundry. The first machine ate 6.75 (costs $7 for a load... was this a setup?) went to another machine which worked. Dryer also took VERY long and after 75 minutes (and some more eaten quarters) was still damp. At least our clothes are clean for the week we're here. We will plan on washing in the sink if we need anything. Nobody was around the whole time we were there to talk with and there isn't a phone number. Seems they can get away with this because it's the only one in town. It's a shame because the rest of the town is AMAZING! read more

We needed a laundromat while on vacation in Cambria, lovely community however the only laundromat we could find was this one off of main Street. It was an absolute dump, filthy dirty, smelled bad, most of the machines didn't work and it was expensive. This laundromat was just awful, not a good way to do laundry while on vacation but didn't really have a choice, so very sad because the town is lovely. The owners of this laundromat need to step up their game. Or possibly sell it, because it's obvious they don't know how to take care of it. read more

Most of the machines are busted and the prices are ridiculous. Also, the place is filthy. I fed $7 into a machine only to have it not work. And of course, there's no phone number to call for service or a refund. You're better off doing laundry in a bathroom sink. If anyone is looking for a business opportunity, open a half-decent laundromat next door to this POS. read more

Long trip so needed to wash clothing. No signage out front so address is essential. Place is not well kept and most machines are not operable and those that are, are not taken cared of. This is the only choice in town. If washing dog stuff (which I did see), it will do. If you can wait, then do that. The bill changer was accurate, but not that putting quarters in the machine takes some force. Try to use the smaller machines, they are smaller but are newer than the larger ones. read more

This place is gross!! Smells terrible in the building like mildew. Machines are so incredibly old and make screeching noises when running. Dryer took $1.50 of mine and metal piece sticking out of dryer blade ripped my shirt. No manager or owner around no phone number to reach them and Neighboring businesses want nothing to do with this place! I would have rather worn dirty clothes then have washed my stuff here. $6.00 to wash a medium load and .25 for 5 mins of luke warm air. Ridiculous! read more

This place is pretty gross, very dirty and the machines look they may not even work. There were a lot of broken / out of service machines. There's a huge pile of old thrown away clothes in the back. Too bad this is the only laundromat in Cambria, definitely not representative of this amazing and cute town. read more

We are from Southern California and in an emergency. I needed a laundromat, this happened to be the only one around. I will be contacting the health department and the Better Business Bureau. Nothing works. Do not come in here. It's filthy and it's disgusting. Read the other reviews. Seriously, I am contacting the health department and the Better Business Bureau. They need to get their act together. This is terrible. Disgusting. I come to Cambria all the time and I cannot believe they allow this. Nothing works, soda has clogged up the lines. The are super old. Poor little Lady was in there putting a quarter in each dryer to find out which one produced heat. So they do take your money as well. read more

This place is really dirty and under maintained. But, it's the only option in Cambria. I go when all my dog things are dirty only. The last few times I've been a washing machine has stolen $7.00 so I've been forced to use another machine. I've called the number on site and never received a response back. The owners have such a poor business model. Many of the machines are out of order and the others are inefficient. It's February 5, 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic and I'm here doing my laundry while on vacation and it's in the little strip mall with a couple restaurants right here. It's an old area of town. The laundromat is clean and most of the washers and dryer's are in working order. There is a change machine and there's a machine with laundry soap and softener sheets. There is also several carts inside for use I'm very happy with this location I would definitely use it again the next time I visit Cambria. read more

The owners of this place ought to be ashamed. Half the washing machines were out of order, and the other half were disgusting.

Main laundromat is an okay place that's sufficient enough to clean your clothes. Expect No Frills from this laundromat. The dryers are cheap but take twice as long to dry your clothes as a normal dryer so it ends up costing twice as much. The washers are small and they're overpriced. This is only for when you're in a pinch and you absolutely need clean clothes. More locals than I thought come into this laundromat. Every time I have been here I have always had an interesting conversation with at least one person. The plus side of having to use this laundromat is it's in a strip mall that's very Charming. It's just a little walk to a candy shop this helps to kill the time. read more

Unlike the other reviewer, we had no trouble here. All the machines were working, they told you how much time each would take, the change machine was working, and the place was reasonably clean. Sure it's expensive, but it is a tourist town in the middle of nowhere so that's to be expected. read more

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT come here for laundry. It was pretty much the single worst customer experience I've ever had in my life. Between all the individual washers that weren't functioning due to severe disrepair, I must have spent fifteen bucks for a single load including multiple wasted boxes of detergent and lots of frustration. Multiple people doing their laundry around the same time were complaining about the same having similar experiences, but, of course, this is the only laundromat in town. This place takes peoples' money and rips them off, plain and simple. The city or county should come in and regulate the place. Unfortunately I don't think it can be shut down since a fair number of people seem to rely upon it, especially given the CA water shortages. read more

Yes, this laundromat has gone down for many years. IT is the only laundromat in town unfortunately. I try to do my laundry in Morro Bay as often as possible..... this laundromat does not have hot water, does not have enough large machines, and out of the four or five it has, usually half of them are not working.... and so much more. Even though they have a room full of brand new, paid for by the cambria ccsd.... in other words all the residents here, new smaller washers...... it still hasn't made this place any better. read more

What a horrible experience! Pro: Cambria has a laundromat! Con: It seems to be the laundromat from hell! I expected that in a little town like Cambria, a laundromat might charge more than your average laundry, but $3.50 a single load? Whatever, I needed to wash a doggy bed that my pup got car sick on during the trip to this wonderful town. We'd decided to stay an extra day in Cambria, so I washed a load of clothing too. The washing machines were fine, but that's where it ended. The machine that exchanged quarters for detergent, dryer sheets, etc. got stuck at one point, holding the quarters hostage. Finally, I was able to get the quarters back but realized that the machine was out of detergent and dryer sheets. Fine. A ways down main street I found a market that had what I needed. Still, I'd like to think that a laundromat would have these items available. But, I survived. The dryers were horrible! First of all, they are not labeled to reflect how long a quarter lasted for. Different dryers (seemingly the same size) allotted different times per quarter. One dryer I used never got warm even though I pushed the permanent press button. So I ended up moving these items to another dryer which seemed okay. I placed my 2nd load into a dryer that appeared to be "newer" and pressed the "delicate" setting. The dryer got going and settled in on "medium" setting, and I could not change it. Exasperated, and without a real need for the "delicate" cycle, I settled that "medium" would suffice. I use it at home and it's fine. Oh my goodness, when I took the clothes out, they were incredibly HOT!!! The setting was not accurate. Just handling the clothing to put in the basket was excruciating. My fingers burned. At one point, I my hands accidentally touched a metal button on some jeans, as I transferred the clothes to the basket (for cooling), and it actually caused a blister. An athletic type jacket of mine, which does not have special care instructions, actually melted a bit in this dryer. By the way, there was no personnel on site, nor a number to contact anyone at. Honestly, if it wasn't such a horrible experience, it wouldn't have been so funny! I had to laugh, having never had, nor expecting to have such a negative experience at a laundromat. Fortunately, Cambria itself is amazing and some wine tasting soon made the memories of the laundromat from hell experience fade. read more

We almost didn't go here due to the other bad reviews, but 5 days on the road and we had no choice. Glad we did. Machines worked fine and so did the dryer. Those that didn't work, which was a lot, were marked and $5 to clean and dry everything on the road seemed acceptable to me. Will be back if passing through and find a need. read more
