Main Street Amusements has exceptionally well maintained games and certain games are as little as 25 cents per play- a real bargain these days. The games accept tokens or app-pay via smartphone. Bonus tokens are given for purchasing tokens in quantity. MSA is a clean and well lighted facility- an excellent destination for family fun as well as adult relaxation. Tournament and league play weekly as well as special events. MSA is in a great location with lots of free parking street-side. So much more than just a nostalgia destination; why not visit MSA soon and make some new memories or re-live past good times!

What a great arcade! Main Street Amusements focuses solely on pinball machines dating from the first half of the 20th century with Bally's 'Rocket' and 'Morocco' to modern machines such as the Tron reboot and Avatar. They've even got machines older than your grand dad that cost a mere nickel! If you ask nicely, the owner might even break out the cool fortune teller machine. I envision Main Street Amusements as a great place for parties (no alcohol, though) and it's certainly a great way to spend an evening downtown after shopping and dining. Bring your quarters and nickels!

There's not much to say about Main Street Amusements other than it is downright fun. If you are into arcade games or classic pinball, this is the best place in the Lafayette area to go. As a Purdue student, I go here with friends every month or so. Dinner, pinball, and then some nightlife? That's the perfect night out in Lafayette. The collection of Pinball machines spans every era and there are plenty of games to keep you entertained. My personal favorites are The Walking Dead, TRON, and Monopoly. Payment here is pretty simple and actually quite flexible for an arcade. You can, of course, pay for tokens with cash. You can also swipe your card, but the coolest option is that you can download an app on your phone to add funds to, and the machine pays via your phone over Bluetooth. It's very convenient. The prices are pretty cheap for an arcade. You can get a good amount of time here for about $5, and it helps if you are able to keep the ball in play for longer of course! If you're at all a pinball fan, you have to check this place out.

Great selection of pinball! Oldies on juke box...all around good fun!

As a child of the 80s, this brings me to my childhood! A great selection of vintage to more modern pinball machines that are well maintained. Games range in price from $0.25 - $1.00 and some have 4 plays for the price of 3. The interior is clean and has a nice touch of the 80s with graffiti art decoration. To make it even better, the classic oldies tunes are from a vintage juke box. There is no food and drink, but my friends and I brought in coffee from a nearby shop with no trouble and we spotted menus from nearby restaurants so perhaps they'd allow you to bring food in, but, if not, the location is surrounded by several great downtown Lafayette spots within walking distance. You don't have to spend a lot to have fun, but I could see this place draining lots of "quarters" from my wallet!

I like the idea of Main St. Amusements, but the decor is bland, the lighting is depressing, and it always smells like paint.

I really like the ambiance at night, when they turn on the neon lights and turn off the regular day lights. Prices aren't that bad at all too, compared to when I went bowling in California in my hometown. The workers there are nice, mostly college students. I didn't try any of the food there so I can't speak for that but overall a great place to have fun!

The Memorial Union's "Rack and Roll" is a play on the phrase 'rock & roll' (which they have playing through speakers), as well as describing exactly what you can do there: shoot billiards ('rack' the pool balls) and go bowling ('roll' the.....well, duh). So the name is (perhaps unintentionally) clever, big deal. But is it still worthy of a 5-star rating? Absolutely. Their pool tables are either in good or great condition, depending on which one you choose, but the lighting is perfectly appropriate for the nature of the sport. The arcade games are excellent as well--they have 2 pinballs, 'Family Guy' and 'Iron Man' (both newer Stern tables in fine shape), in addition to a Guitar Hero Arcade version, high-definition Terminator shoot-em-up, and several others. The bowling area is just as well-maintained, as I've never experienced an issue with balls getting stuck in the gutter, needing a pin reset, etc. The animations that are displayed after a throw (e.g. spare, strike, 7-10 split) are cute, sometimes funny even, and I'm fairly certain that they're student-made on behalf of the college of computery-people. I recall the price to bowl being very reasonable, and often times students can do so for free during special events. I loved coming here as a student to roll (just NOT on Shomer Shabbos), and I'm looking forward to many happy returns as an Alumni. The Union's Rack and Roll is a terrific place to relax in between classes or decompress after a 2-hour differential equations final. "Well, that's like, your opinion, man."

When you walk in, it takes just a second for your eyes to adjust as the whole place is dark and lit by blacklights. As you enter the door, you are greeted with a few arcade game machines. The mini golf course is towards the back and was relatively reasonable for pricing. It was $26.00 for three adults to play a round. The course was decent with many right angle banking and some shots where you need to hit it into an obstacle. There is no elevation to the holes unless it is a ramp so the holes are almost all flat. The final hole is a large clown face where you hit the ball into his mouth. The arcade consisted of quite a few games to play: skee ball, crane games, deal or no deal, a big wheel to spin and a few other fan favorites as well. The games cost anywhere from $1.10 to $1.75 for a play so it isn't completely outrageous. There were 't too many options to choose from at the arcade redemption center so I would suggest expanding more items here for people to earn. This is a fun place to spend a couple hours with the kids or a fun date. They even have birthday packages available for children with a designated room.
