The cafe has recently remodeled and renovated inside. Fancy dishes and utensils from hobby lobby doesn't improve the poor service. I normally don't write bad reviews but all four tables in the back room had issues with not getting their food and waiting for the mistakes the kitchen and waitress made. Lots of menu choices. They got slammed right before we arrived so were basically taking orders at every table - it's a pretty small place. Food still came out hot in a timely fashion. My meatloaf was a bit dry for my taste, but others in my party were quite happy with the biscuits and gravy and fried scrimp. read more

My family stopped here a couple of weekends ago, and I'm glad we did! I was honestly not expecting much because I cannot eat wheat (it's not an allergy, but causes me trouble, so I have no idea how accommodating they can be for those who have Celiac). The omelette and hash browns were delicious, and the rest of the family really enjoyed their food as well. I couldn't find a menu online, so I'm sharing photos. We'll be going back. read more

I am giving them three stars because they completely missed the cook on my eggs really badly. The eggs were for fried over hard, but I ordered them over easy. On the other hand, some of my favorite sausage I've ever had at a cafe. It's definitely the best cafe in town. read more

I've never had a bad meal here. It's standard mom and pop/meat and potatoes. Lots of great flavor and good portions. At times it's pretty busy here for lunch, so expect a crowd. The staff is very accommodating for groups and lunchtime meetings. read more

Dropped in after a long day coming down from Chicago and attending to some things at a friend's local farm. We got there at the end of their business day, 2PM when they close at 3PM, yet no rush to get us to eat and get out. Started with an excellent beef barley soup. Lots of "stuff" in it, and healthy portions of cut up beef. One friend had a chicken sandwich that he said was the best he ever had, and since there was only one serving of meat loaf left, I deferred to my other friend who absolutely loved it. I had the chicken cordon bleu instead, and while it was not the stuffed chicken breast that I am used to, it was a stack of cheese, ham, and chicken breast and really very good, obviously freshly made. Service was excellent, and high marks for cleanliness, too. read more

Pretty good place to eat, I would recommend it to my friends. Food is always hot and fresh. I love there Philly steak and cheese. However it is a very small place and you feel like people are sitting right on top of you. The staff could pay more attention to each table as well. The young staff is careless but If you get one of the older servers you should have pleasant experience. read more

Excellent small town cafe with a great variety of foods. The breakfasts are wonderful. My husband and myself will travel from Danville, IL there just to eat breakfast once in a while. Of course the waitresses are pretty excellent also. Pleasant and friendly..always smiling. We definitely recommend it! read more

I love this place! It is my absolute favorite to go to for Breakfast and Lunch! Whenever my son has an orthodontist appointment we make a stop here for breakfast and I always get the stuffed hash browns ! They are delish! They also make a wonderful Rubin Sandwich and I love their homemade chips! read more

This is possibly one of the worst "diners" I have ever eaten at. I ordered the horseshoe sandwich--something that any diner in a 300 mile radius of Springfield, IL, where it was created, should be able to make if they offer it on their menu. Cheese sauce=out of a squeeze bottle. Not prepared from scratch. Cold. Inedible. What was most disgusting, however, was the order of fried mushrooms. They came out from the kitchen as sliced mushrooms from a can, deep fried and coated with only what we could determine was a glaze of cornstarch. When we said they were disgusting and unacceptable, the mushmouth waiter claimed that's what they always look like and no one's ever complained. Really? Guess that indicates who the regulars are....I told the "hostess" at the counter that the horseshoe was disgusting and wasn't even close to what one should be and she just shrugged. Oh, yeah, and the place was dirty with furniture right out of the 1970's--and not in a fun, kitschy way, but in a dirty, we don't feel like remodeling this funk kind-of-way. Never again. No idea why this is listed as a Mexican restaurant. It's not. It's a normal small-town diner/cafe. And the only decent one in town. Had breakfast this morning...decent selection, omelette looked good, good-size portions, great biscuits and gravy, average hashbrowns. Good coffee with frequent refills. Place is entirely nonsmoking so that's a plus. Friendly staff, food came out a little slow, but overall good experience for Paris. read more
