Got being in the middle of the city this park is a great little place. Terr is an area for the kids, a dog park for the doggies, a large yard to run around in abs I hear they have concerts here too.

Quaint park with a water feature for kids to splash around. Doggie friendly park. They have a small coffee shop which is great because this park is so cute and pretty. From time to the me they have events like, barbecue challenge, music fest and others. This park is super close to my old building, Dallas Power and Lights, so I used to come down to this park often.

First I'll be honest to say it under construction, but this does not add to my review. This area, yet gorgeous and lying in the middle of tall skyscrapers was boring. There is one shopping that opened just yesterday (3/28) and chairs and tables next to one of the cross sections. There's a nice fountain that looks like kids or dogs could run through. This isn't the kind of park to really have fun and s relaxing day set in mind. It's looks to have a more purpose to serve to business folk who needs to do a phone, fresh air, or lunch break. I took my dog. On google review, there was mention of unleashing my dog on the grass...... to my disappointment, not grass. I also could not let her in an extended measure because so many people. It was just uncomfortable to bring her. For me. As I said. Pretty park. Had places to sit. Had a view of all around.

This park was a stop during an early morning venture. There was bench and structure seating along the sides along with a playground for young kids. I like to see fountains or public water installations. Check. There is a concrete dog park fenced at park. Some other Downtowners walked their dogs on the grass. While the park looked clean, it did not smell clean. In my opinion, most of the park smelled like a dog park. Not my thing, but I will not knock anyone who finds this park useful for their pets. I would not necessarily go to any events if the smell is still strong.

Warning it's an Event Review: I came to the Main Street Garden Park for the 2017 Homegrown festival. After 17 years of waiting I finally get to see my favorite band from my High School days. I live in the burbs. I took the Dart train to the St. Paul station. It was just 3 blocks from the park. It was a short walk to the festival. Upon entering the park there were several tshirt vendors. At the back of the park I found 6 food truck different offering an array of foods from burgers to bar b q. The middle of the park had two stages opposite of each other. There were probably 20 port a potties brought in for the festival. The park was well manicured. One side of the park was lined with trees and benches. The opposite side had a playground for kids to play. I had an absolute blast. It was an amazing evening listening to live music.

Too little too soon. The City of Dallas' downtown recreational revitalization went off with thud. Now it's not all their fault and the place has potential but I think they pressed the opening weekend too soon. The Neiman's tree was set for Friday night (11/20/09) and they hosted a Music at the Park the next day. I was only there on Saturday but it rained substantially Friday night so the entire green area was roped off with cops' caution tape leaving only benches and short walls to sit on. Since it was music event it was a bit lame to have folks pretty far away from the stage. But that doesn't excuse the loose stone pavers by the entrance like they were just laid down last minute. And the unfinished dog park that had black tarps over some mysterious objects. The lights on some of the sculptures or structures were not all working. I would have like to see the full lighting effect but I left before dark. I did like the design and architecture of the kids park, the cafe, and the seating stone structures spread throughout the perimeter of the park. The event had a few vendors there with some nice tenderloin and chowder. But Lily Pad Park Cafe' is there and should provide local organic food and dog treats but was open for this event. So if you want to go, I'd recommend waiting for it to dry out at least and give them some time to get the kinks outs. I think they would have made a better first impression if they had a mid-December or first of the year opening.

Although I had driven by and spotted Rusty Tacos, I had never taken a moment to actually park and walk through this park. What a nice oasis in the heart of downtown! Not only is there a Rusty Taco stand with amble outdoor seating and tables in the shade. There are fountains for the kids to run through, a cart containing books that are free to the public to read and share while visiting the park, a small dog run and one of the infamous "B" and "G" statues that have been placed around town. With all of the parks in the area busy all the time with kids running around it was nice to see that this was a more laid back and quiet park where you can go and relax.

I think Jon F's review is hilarious... and a little true. But I'm still a fan. Why? Because its the only stinkin Dog park in the downtown, duh! But seriously, there's a huge greenspace for the pooch to walk on. I think the "off leash" area is silly... why isn't it off leash on the big green grass? totally weird! Plus if you want a drink o water for your pooch, you HAVE to enter the off leash area? um... why? Sure there's a place to sit, have a bite and all that... but if your there for your dog what ya gonna do? Leaven em in the off leash by themselves? Also, I'm not a fan of kids area's at a dog park either... how snobby you're thinkin... but, so many dogs act squirrly around squeeky kids and I would hate to see a child bitten. Heck, I act funny around squeeky kids too. :p It can be hot as the dickens at this park to, but I imagine that the tree's will eventually provide a bit of shade. My pooch thinks the place is just ok too... he wasn't excited by the off leash area at all, totally snubbed it.

Now I get it if the other kid was just parked there not moving but the kid was moving but maybe not at the pace the brat wanted. To me, seems like a you problem and someone didn't tell her the world didn't revolve around her and her little sister. Was at another part of the playground and noticed a mom suddenly started yelling obscenities because she lost her son. She was just sitting at a bench I guess closer to her other 2 kiddos. Um newsflash. If you can't handle 3 kids, your poor choices don't need to infect other people trying to enjoy their time there. Note - When we arrived there are sign's at the entrances that say, in order to enter this property you had to call a number that was on the sign and ask for permission first before entering. I did not call, and just walked around admiring the garden as many others did. Though, if you do plan on going, enter at your own risk ( You prob should call and ask for permission first). Sadly I did not take a picture of the sign. I was probably only there 15 minutes at the most to enjoy the whole garden. I'd love to go back with my camera to take some nice pictures sometime. There are views of both the Margaret McDermott and Margaret Hunt Hill bridges, the Trinity River, and the Dallas Skyline. Walking the trail in early April, everything was vibrantly green and absolutely stunning. We hopped off the trail to walk down the Ronald Kirk pedestrian bridge. On a Friday mid morning in the midst of Coronavirus quarantine, the bridge was sparsely populated - just a few people here and there running, biking, or walking their dogs.
