I will start by saying that I don't know a thing or two about cds, records, or anything else- but my bf is an old soul and loves physical media! he wanted to stop in and we ended up getting 4 CDs. Something that I didn't know was that most cars still have cd players! Afterwards we hopped in the car and popped them in and listened! I noticed they had taylor swift in there and I will be back to get my own cds for my car! the lady at the front desk was nice and so were all the other customers inside! Learning something new is always cool!

Service was amazing! Greeted as soon as we walked in. The selection was unbelievable, honestly. They even had records that just came out a week ago in stock. They're very up to date while providing a nostalgic feel with the variety that they have. They even have rare vinyls. I will be back

Went to Main Street Music for the first time in a year, and was not disappointed. Before making the trip up from Center City, we had the crew there place CDs on hold for us, which we had looked up on their website beforehand, which they were glad to do. Every title we asked for was in stock. My pile consisted of replacements & some that were newer. Namely, The Doors' "L.A. Woman" & "London Fog 1966" (their earliest live recording). Four Enya releases rounded out my purchase. My fiance got selections from 10 mind blowing artists. You can find rare stuff here. Main Street Music carries many newer releases in CD as well as older catalogue in new & used. The prices are great. I'd say that the store is half CD & half vinyl. For those of us who unapolegetically prefer CDs this is the place to frequent. It was a treat to see newer merchandise displayed so invitingly. Jamie was friendly & awesome helping us out. John & Pat (the owner) were all cool. This is a store where you can chat with the staff. Looking forward to coming back here to support this gem of an indie music store.

Video may have killed the radio star, but the internet hasn't killed the record store. Music stores are not dead and Main Street Music in Manayunk is the perfect example of why they aren't. Their selection is killer. I think one of the reasons is because they sell new and old CDs/vinyls. Don't let the small storefront fool you. They have a lot to offer when you start to go through their inventory. They also have in-store concerts, which is the reason for my most recent visits. For anyone who purchased the Good Old War CD/vinyl during a designated time received wristbands to come back for an in-store performance. So you know how I mentioned the storefront isn't huge? Well, a small store makes for a ridiculously intimate concert experience. When purchasing the CD, I asked the girl working the counter how long the concert would be. She said typically they are about 20-30 minutes. I lucked out with an hour long set, plus meet and greet. I don't know how often these types of events happen, but it's really cool that they happen, period. The prices for music are reasonable and they are a local business. What more do you need when buying your tangible music?

First off, I should say that the owner here has been a friend since high school. Second I should say that his music store has become the great place we always liked as kids when shopping for music. Staff who love and know music. Wide range of music available. A social scene as well and place to buy the newest stuff. Now with vinyl available. My highest recommendation.

So I was really in the mood for some Usagi Yojimbo. I was doing some research on trades I might want. Research for me is putting it in my Amazon cart and then hoping I can find it locally. That was Friday night and the plan was to go out to find it Sunday. I just was like there has to be something closer. I started doing some research. There goes that word again. This time it meant googling and reading reviews. That lead me to this place. I read some cool stuff about the owner. He's an illustrator and makes all his own sticker/shirt designs that you can't get anywhere else. So Sunday rolled around and I went over there. Loved the set up. Nice little oldie but goodie section. Cool collectibles and some great rarities. Guy at the front desk was awesome. I spent a while in there bullshitting. He made some pretty good suggestions. I totaled it up and I could walked out of there spending $300 were I to have gotten everything I wanted in there. Luckily I did not. However I will be back. The collectable Batman '89 figure was there. I'd never seen it in person. Also it's cheaper than it is on the internet. That doesn't normally happen. I'm not into it but there was talk with another customer of board game or D&D nights in the near future. So you should check this place out. It's not huge but it has some cool stuff.

Parking was a nightmare, but it was worth it. But the Manayunk neighborhood is adorable! So, they claim they are the "city's first brick-and-mortar romance bookstore." But I did find another that also claims this too! Regardless, I'm ALWAYS going to go to a #romancebookstore! I also happens to walk in during an #authorevent, where Lily Larkspur was signing "Merry Meet Again. Lily said if Hallmark movies were my jam, the.n I'd like her book, so obviously I got it. Signed, and all I honestly don't need any more books (WEIRD to say), so i browsed for a good, long while. But finally, I settled on a book with the edges sprayed in a soccer ball pattern -- the girly tomboy in me loves a book about my fave sport The bookstore, all 600 square feet, is extremely packed full of all romance genres that are very visibly labeled. They also have adorable merch, clothing, and tons of romance trinkets. But BY FAR are the Cockmark (bookmarks) that are so unassuming Also, just down the street is the brand new Thrillerdeplia, a horror and thriller bookstore! I didn't have a chance to swing by, but I'm adding it to my "to do" list! Philly has a limited selection findependent bookstores but Cupid is worth a visit!
