I am Maine-iacs new number 1 fan, and I'm telling you to make sure to stop by them when you are at one of Tampa's fresh open air markets. You can find out the schedule at Tampabaymarkets.com. I stopped by their stand this past weekend at The Shops at Wiregrass. I was able to get to talk with the owner's wife. The owner Guy is directly from Maine, and has a knack for the amazing flavor in their lobster rolls, lobster mac and cheese, lobster bisque, and whoopie pies. The owner Guy is also an author with novels that he has written, published, and selling as well. It's pretty cool to be able to support a St. Pete local especially with his goals being twofold. With their lobster rolls, they add an easy amount of mayo, lemon juice, seasonings, and fresh chunks of lobster. This really is a great portion with 4 ounces for the classic, and 6 ounces for the mega. I could taste every bite. They served it on a bun, and I really just loved the lobster so much, I didn't care about the bun, The lobster rolls are super fresh, light, and tasty. It was quite perfect for an afternoon that seemed a lot warmer for a December day than usual. You can tell they have a passion in their product, and they are very open, and nice to talk to. I loved loved my lobster roll, and it was perfect for my taste buds. I can't wait to try their other items as well. The next Tampa Bay Market is in Seminole Heights this Sunday, December 14, 9-2 at the front of the Hillsborough High School. I'm totally there! Maybe I will see you too. If you want to follow them, they are working on their website, but you can like their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/maineiacslobster

Very good. Lobster meat mixed with some mayo on a toasted hotdog bun. The Mainer owner was friendly. Authentic and very tasty.

What a fun afternoon! I have been meaning to go to this market for a while and am glad I did. It…read morewas September's market so it was a hot one. Dress for the weather because part of it is outside and the inside space has a lot of people coming in and out so if it is hot outside, it is hot inside. There were a lot of cool vendors at the market. I was looking for plants that were different from what I already have. I have a lot of succulents and cacti, a couple orchids and some other random plants so a good plant sale is always a good place for me. In addition to the plants there were many other vendors with crafty items, or specialty items or jewelry. However, I didn't find anything that I couldn't live without. A cool part about having the market here is that you also get to stroll through the creative clay area and see the art that people there have made, which is also for sale. They also have some artists working wheels so people could see how pots start. I think I enjoyed this part of the market more than the vendor portion this time around but I know I will be back. There were also a couple food vendors outside but nothing spoke to me that day and since Three Sisters Brewery is a block from the parking area, I went over there to have a snack and a CBD bev.

This place had some cool stuff for sale, some very repetitive types of items, but all with the…read moreunique spin of the artists and creators. Overall, it's nice outdoor market to stop by if you're really into supporting local small artists and makers. But personally, I didn't find anything that stood out to me as worth my money and useful for my decor or aesthetic. The thing that drops stars from my review is the rightness of the aisles. Man, it was tight! To the point of being plain uncomfortable to go through and see everything. That alone makes it a place I'll never again visit.

I parked at Madeira fundamental and rode the trolley to John's pass. It's free fair and "admission" and perfect for a nice ride. You're dropped off and picked up under the bridge-- super convenient! When walking around it was packed, but definitely busy. I got the crab Rangoon cheese sticks and a strawberry lemonade. Both were good, but not outstanding. The food selection was unfortunately smaller than anticipated, but there was some great live music!

It is free to enter and there are no gimmicks like buying tickets to get food. The crowd was very chill (mostly 50-70 years old), the music was good as was the shopping and it was a great way to spend 2-3 hours. We did choose to eat at a restaurant instead of the vendors because it was too hot to walk around eating a big meal out of plastic containers. Let's start with the parking. Personally I wouldn't even attempt to drive all the way to the festival, if you go early it is possible but you may have trouble getting back out. Using the free shuttle service was very easy to use. We used the free lot at Madeira Beach Fundamental School. The shuttle seems to run about every 10 minutes from there. It takes about 20 minutes to get from the lot to the festival. There is additional parking at City Hall but I don't suggest that. The trolley's load first at the school so if it's full there you aren't getting on at City Hall. When returning it stops at the school first so the trip is 10 minutes shorter than City Hall. Ok, enough about the parking let's get onto the festival itself. The trolley will drop you off and pick you up at the John's Pass parking at the foot of the bridge. You will walk under the bridge and up Boardwalk Place East. It will be obvious where to go from there or you can follow the music. If you are in need of a mixed drink I suggest you stop at the festival entrance where the Friendly Fisherman Restaurant has an outside bar/tent. The mixed drink lines grow dramatically the further in you go. If you are drinking beer or coolers those are everywhere and at only $4 a bargain. There is a large stage at Boardwalk and Village but if you prefer something quieter, a smaller stage is straight down the end of Boardwalk. Along Village Blvd is where most of the action is with plenty of food and other retail vendors. All the brick and mortar stores were open so there is plenty of shopping to do. As far as the food goes, while it is predominantly seafood there are other options as well. The one downside I felt is they were all selling essentially full meals and they are no bargain. We wanted more of small bites we could walk around with sampling different options. If you choose to go the full meal route there is a large covered eating area in the parking lot at Village Blvd and 129th where there is an even larger stage. This is already long enough so I will wrap it up with a few other highlights; -There is a kids zone on 129th. -Dogs are allowed. -The North end at Bamboo Beach Bar is more adult oriented.
