Delicious- just go! The vibe is pretty homie gives French bistro vibes and feels like an old living room throughout most of the restaurant. Service was friendly, quick and helpful and prices were more than fair for the flavor. We went for brunch and everything we had was very tasty- I didn't use a single condiment, which is rare the French toast was amazing. It's honestly the perfect amount (non American portion), but you will want that more. We also had the crêpe V something and the rustic omelette both exquisite. I will be happy ordering this every time, but I'm also curious to explore a few of the other options. The menu isn't super dense, but we're thinking of trying the sweet crêpe next time and maybe a desert. Pro tip add some of the syrupy whipped cream from your French toast to a cappuccino and enjoy. What a fantastic restaurant and dining experience. We had reservations at 7:30 and were very warmly greeted and served by the same individual. The ambience and chef owners skill and influences were obvious and a true treat rare for central Florida. We enjoyed a bottle of an an Alsacian white and my wife have the duck which she said was outstanding, while I had one of the best Oso Buco's ever with a side of wonderful red cabbage. Found this spot while vacationing in St. Pete Beach. We were looking for a less touristy dining experience and found Alsace. We had never had French cuisine and thought we'd give it a try. So glad we did. The restaurant is tucked back into a little strip mall. The restaurant decor is quint with a French bistro vibe. Dined on a Tuesday evening and it was mostly full. Glad we made a reservation. Seemed like we were the only vacationers in the restaurant. We had a nice bottle of French Pino Gris which seemed fairly priced. My wife had the chicken cordon bleu, it was delicious and too big a portion for her to finish. I had to take care of the rest. She got the rice as a side. Nothing special there. I got the chicken with prunes in a brown mushroom sauce. Very flavorful with a nice contrast having the prunes and the savory gravy. I opted for the potatoes as a side. They were pan fried and very flavorful. The side salads had a nice walnut vinaigrette. For dessert we had the special chocolate bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. A nice sweet treat to top off a great meal. Our first foray into French cuisine was a hit. read more

We had the most delicious meal at Alsace French Bistro. It's tucked away at the end of strip mall but.....what a gem! My husband had steak poivre and I had cordon bleu. Both dishes were delicious. When you walk in the setting feels like France. It a very Alsace menu from salad Nicoise, escargot, and crepes for entrees and desserts. We started with escargot which was in a small bowl with a delicious sauce. It was so good it could have been a soup. My wife had the filet and I had the salmon over lentil beans. Such a wonderful hidden gem! If not for Yelp, never would have found it in the back of a strip mall. Started with the tartiglette appetizer that was perfect! Loved the thin pastry, mushroom and cheese tart. We had 3 main courses that we all shared: shrimp and scallops with potatoes, shrimp in vodka sauce and a salmon crepe with a side of beets. We came for brunch and as expected (based on the 4.6 rating), the food was delicious. I savored every bite. I liked it so much I took home a second meal! The restaurant is charmingly decorated, too. The staff was friendly & warm, and provided great service. And there's private parking in the small shopping center so easy to park. I love their food. It's a small gorgeous little Bistro where the food is outstanding. My favorite is their weekend brunch. The Eggs Benedict are just amazing with fresh, homemade Hollandaise sauce. I was just there for my birthday with some friends. Chris, our waiter, was excellent and accommodating since I arrived a little late (oops). This was on my list of local places to try solo because they don't have anything interesting for my vegetarian wife. Therefore, solo I was tonight. This is a very cute restaurant in Tierra Verde. The inside is cuter than the generic Florida beach strip mall vibe going on outside. Got sat right away but the gentleman warned me he was alone and just caught up after getting slammed. Well for someone working the entire front of the house alone, he did a great job. I never waited long for anything and he was attentive and friendly. When I used to be a server, if I was alone and managing a dozen tables, I would have been a miserable human being. I ordered the French onion soup, the duck entree, and roasted potatoes. The soup was excellent. Very rich. They might have added spoonfuls of fat or something to make it so rich. The duck was great. Crispy but moist and a lot of flavor. The salad it came with was very good. The potatoes were essentially just potatoes in oil. Good but nothing special. There aren't many French restaurants in the area but I am going 4 stars because the others are better, even if just a tad. Left Bank Bistro, Parts of Paris, Parlor House, and Gulf Bistro all are a bit better. But, I recognize that's subjective and also the gap isn't very wide. By all means, come here for a delicious French meal. You will enjoy it. But in the end, you have to rank them somehow and this was great, but not the best. read more

What an amazing experience, from the mind blowingly delicious food, wonderful drinks, fantastic desserts to a charming and lovely atmosphere. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our lovely hostess/ server Diane who is an absolute pleasure, she's friendly, knowledgeable and extremely attentive. My husband and I ordered the pate for an appetizer, poulet moutarde and the house special of Saurkraute and sausage for entrees and the lavender creme Brule along with the pear chocolate tarte for dessert, followed by an espresso and cappuccino. Don't judge me, trust me when I say, once you get to Alsace you'll want to order everything under the sun as well! This place is the definition of a hidden gem! It's tucked in the back of an unassuming (but cute) shopping plaza, but once you walk inside, you're surrounded by quaint decor and a cozy, cheerful interior. Our table was right by a window in the back, which looked out over a grassy area and the water. Needless to say, we wanted to try everything, so we had a tough time choosing our dishes. My boyfriend and I split the tarte flambee gratinee, which is a crispy flatbread with swiss cheese, bacon (though it was more like pieces of ham) and caramelized onions. We also shared the French onion soup, and both of our starters were delicious. I just wish there was more cheese on the soup, but that's a minor thing. For our entrees, I opted for the steak au poivre, which comes with crispy potatoes and a small salad, while my boyfriend got the special, which was a French shepherd's pie. Both entrees were fantastic, and we cleaned our plates. Even though we were feeling ourselves getting full, everything had been so good that we knew we couldn't pass up dessert. I chose the chocolate mousse and he got the lavender creme brulee. These were wonderful... I liked the mousse more, he preferred the creme brulee -- but both were mouthwateringly good. Don't let the strip mall location food you. Dinner at this small French bistro was out of this world! During the week, they open at 5pm for dinner. Started with some Bordeaux wine, French onion soup and escargot (served with a few slices of crusty bread and in a cream sauce rather than a garlic butter) the flavors explode in your mouth. Dinner for two: FILET MIGNON BEURRE (Filet mignon wrapped in bacon with garlic butter) and ESCALOPE PANNE A LA CREME (Chicken cutlet breaded fried served with mushroom cream sauce) Entrees include a small salad and our choice of a side dish was the red cabbage & these carmel crusted potatoes. Went here for brunch, their food was incredible. Might be a nice to place to visit before a day at Fort DeSoto or after an early morning there, since it's on the way. Just fyi it's quite a small restaurant, and I think reservations are recommended. I had the Brie and prosciutto crepe with an egg on top. It was the best crepe I've had. Otherwise, they have lots of other egg and cheese dishes for brunch, like egg croissants, croque mosier (you can add an egg to make a croque madame), and a dish that sounds like an egg casserole. They also have sweet crepes -- crepe Suzette (orange), lemon curd crepe, nutella -- and a few pastries. They also have dinner, which I'm sure is fantastic. But I've only been here for brunch.
