I had the vegetable spring rolls from here. They were pretty good, they were hot and I ordered them at around 11:30, the kitchen closes at midnight. There weren't that many non-pork dumpling options especially so late in the night. The drinks were good. We sat outside at the bar area. The music was good, the Bartender was great.

Indulgent, delicious food in St Petersburg! There's a storefront that you walk thru to get to the food truck in the back - a unique set up! Service was fast food came out within 10 mins! We got the chicken rice bowl, the lobster rangoons, and the wagyu pot stickers. Good amount of food to split between 2 people and everything was really good!! Outdoor & indoor seating - we sat out front to be in the sun but out back or inside looked pleasant too!

The remnants of my meal. It smelled so good that I ate most before taking a photo.

The Bang-Bang Chicken came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. Flavorful, perfectly cooked, and the sauce made the rice taste great. There were generous portions that filled me up comfortably, but I wish I could go back. The cook was engaging and helpful, pointing us in a good direction, and I liked the set-up of the food truck in back and comfy, air-conditioned dining room in front (with great music playing). Highly, highly recommended!

Wow! The vegan bang bang rice is out of this world. Flavor. Crunch. So many delicious textures. I got it to go and the staff were super friendly. The outdoor area looked fun and I'll definitely go back for the vibes.

The portion sizes are massive! I ordered the chicken with the rice. I was literally holding like 2 pounds worth of food. They are very generous. The chicken was super crispy and juicy and the orange sauce was very savory. I think it was gochujang sauce. I'm a huge fan of white rice and they did not disappoint. It was very soft and had some flavor to it. Definitely coming back here again. The bao buns were pretty good too, but it was really hard for the chicken to stay in the bun so it kept slipping out. Overall, really cute place. A bit confusing because there's a food truck in the back and the back is actually the front entrance.

We had been wanting to try Shiso Crispy for months and I'm sad to say the experience was extremely underwhelming. First off, the food is pretty pricy. The bao buns were 2 for $12 and the dirty rice with bang bang chicken was $18. Both dishes (and seemingly most of everything on the menu ) is covered in their gochujang sauce which after a while, is the only thing you can taste. There was no differentiation in flavors and the sweet sauce was just too much. The portion sizes were good but for over $30, there are much better options out there. The inside space was clean and comfortable and there is also seating outside in both the front and back. There is a small bathroom inside as well as branded gear for purchase.

Always enjoy Shiso Crispy. This is my first time eating at the Central Ave location. Food is a bit pricey but it NEVER disappoints.

Almost passed this up. When I first arrived, it was around 8:50. The restaurant appeared to be dead. There was no one inside. I was looking around and there's a sign on the window that says "entrance" and points towards the back. And then when you look inside the "restaurant" you see signs in the back that are above a door. When you go around or go through, there is a food truck out back. There's outdoor seating and indoor seating. The ambience is well lit outside! Unfortunately, they did not have the vegan bang bang chicken. Thankfully, they did have other vegetarian options (not sure if they're vegan so I'm not going to say vegan, but I believe it was). They had BBQ jackfruit rice bowl with slaw and then I also got the bao buns with BBQ jackfruit. I started with the rice bowl first. It was $19. Which is kinda pricey. Thankfully, the portion size matches up to the price point! With the amount of rice, it's technically more than one serving. I will say, this bowl was very very sweet. The BBQ jackfruit is sweet bc the BBQ sauce. And then they gave a sweet chili sauce on the side as well, so it was just more sweetness and unfortunately, nothing to combat the sweetness. It was good. I just wish it had some other sauce to help combat the sweetness! Then it would have been great. The bao buns were basically the same. That wasn't my intention but since they were out of the vegan bang bang, I didn't have a choice. So both of these options were essentially the same exact thing. Except one had rice and one had bao. Again, unfortunately it was too sweet and nothing to combat the sweetness. Both were good. My baos did stick the box and rip apart completely so it was very messy. Nonetheless, still good. I think these were $12?? I also appreciate that they're open later than 9, as for it seems everything else around the area closed at 9. Since I don't live in the area, I won't be able to try the other vegan option, but hopefully sometime if I'm in town, I can because it looks/sounds really good!

Super cool place near Fergs. Never knew this place was here. The Bang Bang Chicken with sticky rice was outstanding. Best sauce ever, chicken super crispy and cooked perfectly. Love the sticky rice with fried onions on top. Service was super quick and friendly!

Lobster Rangoon | 7/30/2023

Finally getting around to review the two items I got from the food truck at a special event they were at. Unfortunately, I was so disappointed. I ordered the SCHEZUAN MANDU and LOBSTER RANGOONS. The mandu was bland and came 5 pieces $12.50. A whole bag of frozen mandu could be purchased at any local asian market for half the cost and would have more flavor than that. The lobster rangoons were the biggest disappointment. When I cracked the first one open, all that was in there was cream cheese, no lobster - at least none that I could see or taste. Very unfortunate that these items didn't impress because their dirty rice looks really appetizing. I know they've just opened a new permanent location, but sadly I'm not sure I'd be rushing to try it out.

The burgers are so perfectly smashed, they're bigger than the bun so you get all that extra crunchy goodness around the edges. The flavor of the sauce is amazing and compliments perfectly. Not only that, but they have great fries! I always get the loaded fries which come with their caramelized onions and cheese sauce. Cue the droolingggg. It's hit or miss if there is going to be a long line but somehow my wife and I have always gotten lucky to get there juuust before everyone else. Service is always very friendly and efficient. As for ambiance, they can't really account for that since they are a food truck but Common Dialect has plenty of seating if you want to stay, have a beer, and eat your food. Now, I cannot wait to try their tacos! Fingers crossed they make it to Tampa sometime soon!

But seeing that it was scorching hot, there still wasn't too much shade to be found. I would suggest this be in the winter when it is cooler. I think it would be perfect in January/ February after all the holidays are over. I would also suggest there be areas for misting tents if it is going to be in the hot months of Florida. That would help people feel more refreshed, and more inclined to keep going through. It's hard for me to have an appetite if I can't refresh somewhere close by. I did get to try the Vietnamese coffee from the Pho truck. I loved it, but it was super small just because it was basically ice. I also has the lobster roll from Surf and Turf. It was okay, but I didn't love that it was mostly kale. My hubby had a burger from one of the trucks and loved it because he felt quite full from the fries and huge burger. I have now had my fair share of food truck fests, and I am glad I have checked this off my list twice. (I was also at the one in the Spring at the Florida State Fairgrounds.) This one definitely seemed to have more offerings. Some of my favorites that I also saw were Mmmbap, Mr. C'S Grilled Cheese, and Leanne's Cheesecakes. They also had bbq, Jamaican food, Filipino food, Portuguese, & German, just to name a few.

Too many choices and you couldn't try everything. Got food from Aloha to Go, Willy T's Crab Shack, and Jamaica Jamaica. And then we were too full to eat anymore lol. Wish there were sampler sized portions and prices available at the trucks so we could have tried more. Everything we had was delicious though! Will definitely have to visit Aloha to Go's restaurant soon. And that Jamaican patty/coconut bread..YUM. I believe they are based out of Orlando though. Event seemed very organized. We were able to get our passes quickly when we arrived (thanks Candy!). There were plenty of garbage bins along the road. Got to say hi to some fellow Yelpers while we were there and stopped by the Yelp tent of course lol. Couldn't stay for any of the performances unfortunately. Heard there will be another one sometime in spring of next year at this same location. Might have to check it out again.

As someone with more than three decades in hospitality, I rarely hand out five-star reviews…read more Hawkers earned one. I visited before a Rays game and was immediately impressed by both the service and the food. The staff was attentive without hovering, the pacing was excellent, and the entire experience felt polished and intentional. I ordered the Bibimbap with bulgogi steak, tofu, fried egg, kimchi, vegetables, gochujang, and crispy rice, along with two spring rolls. What stood out most was the balance. The dish delivered heat, sweetness, savory depth, texture, and freshness without relying on heavy sauces or excessive portions. Every ingredient maintained its own identity while contributing to the overall flavor of the dish. Too many restaurants create flavor by drowning food in sauce. Hawkers does it through seasoning, spices, and technique. There was no puddle of sauce at the bottom of the bowl, no overly sweet glaze, and no greasy heaviness. The rice absorbed flavor without becoming soggy, and the kimchi, vegetables, egg, tofu, and bulgogi worked together beautifully. The spring rolls were equally impressive. Light, crisp, delicate, and perfectly executed, with a thin wrapper and just the right amount of crunch. What impressed me most was that I left satisfied, not stuffed. The portions were thoughtful, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the flavors were layered rather than overwhelming. Since moving to Florida, this ranks as one of the best restaurant meals I have had. Highly recommended.
