Our last sail was up in the air due to weather until the last minute and Dan was totally cool about playing it by ear. Weather broke and we ended up with a perfect late day sail. I don't have a lot of boating experience, but I was completely at ease after hearing about all of the safety features and systems on the boat. We brought sandwiches and drinks aboard and there was plenty of cooler space and ice for us. Dominic was very friendly and open to taking all of our suggestions about what we wanted to see. At the end, he even gave us a tour if the marina and told us about the history of many of the boats. My husband really loved this as he loves anything boat related. It was a great day.

The day we went, we specifically requested to get up-close to the Camden Cup Classic Sailing Regatta. He helped us get right in the mix of the race and get great looks at the all the boats. His boat is very clean and runs smoothly and quickly. There is no Bimini but in Maine, not really needed. He provided two coolers to store our stuff. The seating is a second captains chair and a comfortable bench in the stern. If you have a party of 6, you can sit on the coolers. The best thing about Captain Dominic is his knowledge of the waters and all surrounding areas. If you're looking for a great way to get on the water and have a nice, personal trip - Osprey Island Yacht Service is the ticket!

The food by Chef Juice, they call him was absolutely 5 stars ! From the best cheeses from around the world hand picked by Capt. Noah and his wife Jane were absolutely fantastic ! They take pride in their appetizers before a wonderful meal ! All the meals are hand made and out of this world ! The trip was almost fog free and we went around many of the Maine islands and had the wonderful lobster bake on Russ island, a favorite of Captain Noah's ! The crew on this trip was absolutely amazing ! They were absolutely spit on with detail and did everything they could to make you feel welcome on such a special schooner cruise. If you haven't taken a schooner cruise, I highly recommend that you give it a try! 3/4 of my sons have gone and they loved it ! Once again, I give this trip a 5 star review !

Being from Las Vegas, I'll admit I had certain expectations about Maine. Blame the media and me not paying enough attention in history class, but I was expecting to see a few more lighthouses. That's definitely not their fault this is why expectations aren't healthy. a little part of me thought it was going to be two awkward hours of me feeling like I was talking too loud Instead, the crew was fantastic, the other passengers were friendly, and for a couple of hours it felt like we had all traveled back in time. It ended up being one of the most enjoyable experiences of our trip. The crew allows passengers to help handle the lines and raise the sails, which was a really cool touch. If that's something you want to do, be quick and be ready because those opportunities go fast! Just an FYI, if you have mobility issues, I would recommend using the restroom before setting sail. The boat's head (restroom) is located below deck and requires navigating stairs.The crew had a sense of humor and professional. kind of bummed they didn't dress like old sailors with pipes:) perfect weather, the scenery. Romantic or family either way a beautiful memory.

Ducktrap Kayak has a really sparse website, but don't let that fool you--they know what they're doing. Rental prices are very reasonable, and they will either help you strap the kayaks to your car or pick you up and drop you off at your convenience. The guy we spoke with was super knowledgable and suggested we kayak around Lake Megunticook (rather than in the ocean), which ended up being a fabulous choice. Even in early June, the water was warm enough to swim in, and there are several 'islands' where you can dock your kayak and stop for a bite to eat or a swim. We started early, so it felt like we had the lake to ourselves! Before he pushed us off, the owner gave us a rundown of how to work the kayaks and some tips for having a great trip. Be sure to check this place out! Definitely makes for a great morning/day of fun!
