Went this past Monday 7/17 in the afternoon. They were sweet and fit me in to the schedule for a pedicure when I walked in and asked (their online system had no openings). There was only one person working, and she did her best. Their massage chairs and foot baths are new and fantastic, and the foot and leg massage was great. The actual pedicure was unfortunately not great: she haphazardly clipped my nails but never went back to round over the pointy corners with a file, or if she did she missed a bunch. She never cleaned under the nails at all, and scraped the skin above my nails when buffing so it stung a lot when she cleaned up with alcohol or acetone prior to polishing, and didn't seem to have any idea how to gently push back cuticles prior to trimming; I stopped her a couple of times as she was jabbing awkwardly at my cuticles with a triangular-headed tool, asking her to please be gentle, but she really didn't seem to comprehend the concept. She did a good job trimming in some places. The polish she applied was neatly done, for the most part, though it got piled up on one side of my big toenail. Other places I've been, they'll put little foam sandals on before they apply polish, then walk you over to the drying fans; not sure if this place doesn't have fans, or the sandals, or what, but she just left me sitting in the massage chair (which again was great, lol) for about 20 minutes until I realized that she was done and I should leave . I was grateful to find a place in Dama to even get a pedi, so hoping this was an aberration. read more

My nails are absolutely ruined after coming here for a gel removal. I was excited to try this place as it had good reviews and fair prices but I definitely won't be coming back. I made an appointment on their third party scheduling website (Vagaro) for the same evening, the website told me I then needed to wait for the appointment to be confirmed and I would get a text. 4pm rolls around and I still haven't had any word back so I called the business and asked if my appointment was confirmed, they replied "no". I asked if I could still come in and they told me to come in at 5pm. The staff not checking their appointments was a little odd but I didn't have anything pressing so I went in at 5pm. This is my first time getting gel nails removed so I didn't really know what to expect. I came in and the place was mostly deserted except for two workers and someone getting their nails done. They sat me down, I waited a while for one of the workers to finish their manicure, she asked me if my nails were real or acrylics (they were very long, healthy, and natural before this) then they buffed my nails and painted a "gel remover" on top of my nails. They sat on my nails for ten minutes while the worker left to give someone a pedicure. Someone else came back with a bowl of alcohol or acetone, told me to soak them, then left. I soaked them for probably another 10 minutes and my fingers started to burn. Again, I really didn't know what to expect so I just waited. The first worker came back, inspected my nails (which hadn't done much, some parts were starting to flake/melt off) and questioned her coworker (in another language) if the bowl had alcohol or acetone in it, the second worker said it was acetone. She then sat down and proceeded to use a nail grinder to grind off all the polish since the soak did nothing. The worker didn't seem to care she was grinding my skin around my nails in the process, which hurt quite a bit. She finished grinding most of the polish off, leaving lots around the very edges of my nails, then buffed with a really abrasive brush, then said "your done". Didn't finish taking the polish off, didn't put any kind of cuticle oil or anything on my nails, and had ground my natural nails into a thin breaking mess. I pointed out the several areas she missed, she ground my nails further. Asked if that was fine, I asked if she could put something on top to protect them? She did a fast round of clear coat and left. They look terrible, have red spots where the nail was ground, feel very bumpy, and hurt when any pressure is applied. I had to cut them all the way down because catching them on anything hurts. This is really sad because my wedding is in a month and I was hoping to get gel for them a few days before and now I don't know if that's possible because of the state of them. After reading about proper gel removal, this grinding and soaking in straight acetone should never have happened in the first place. Do yourself a favor and skip this place! They don't seem to care about nail health or the finished product at all. read more

Ivy, the technician was 5 star. I believed I had book the same service as the last time on Vagaro- a pedicure- however was charged for a spa pedicure which is $25 more. When addressed with the manager she was argumentative thus management receives a 1 star rating bringing the overall rating to 3 star. The situation was de-esculated the situation by my saying I would go back to Vagaro website to see what I misunderstood and would leave a re view to caution other customers from having a similar experience. When I returned to the Vagaro site I was unable to leave a review as there was no record of prior appointment or of being a verified customer and the Book Now button was disabled. Vagaro shows 5 stars for this business however it appears this manager is able to delete customers who have made appointments and received service thus preventing reviews being left. Beware of the business unless there is a change of management. read more

Never will go back. Worst pedicure ever for high price. Nails were cut crooked, paint didn't cover all of the nails, and she did a lazy job on the heels. Poor massage skills as well. I would have done a better job on myself. Don't waste your money here ladies. read more

Mainely Nails' new location is more expansive and well lit than before - a pleasant place to retreat to and rejuvenate. My daughter and I just had our toes done - the place was hopping with customers and the staff handled the rush with calm and gracious professionalism. Stop by but make an appointment first! You will be glad you did. read more

I had a great experience here today at their new location. Lots of parking, and I was able to walk right in to get my holiday red gel but appointments are recommended. The area was spacious and can now accommodate 5 pedicures at one time! Lots of colors and friendly service. I'm super happy with my manicure and will be returning soon! read more

I moved from Mass about 9 months ago and have finally found my go to for my nails This place does an amazing job, it's clean and the girls are absolutely great!!!! They have all the OPI & GELISH options for gel as well as a great selection of regular polish!! Mary did my nails and it was one of the best manicures I've ever had, that's saying a lot given the fact that I have gotten my nails done every two weeks for the past 10 years. read more

Not sure about the Newcastle location but steer clear of the Rockland one. Quantity over quality seems to be there motto. It feels like you are part of an assembly line here because you are passed around from person to person in order to complete a manicure. One person removes your polish, the next files you and the third polishes you. Walk ins are taken over standing appointments and they are never on time. The employees talk on their cell phones while helping you, even stopping to carry on their conversations. I witnessed an employee Facetiming during an appointment once. Had a scheduled appointment and waited 30 minutes for the employee to show up just to be told she'd be another 15 minutes. Worst customer service I've ever received! read more
