Red thin spots on nail after nail grinder
    Teagan R.

My nails are absolutely ruined after coming here for a gel removal. I was excited to try this place as it had good reviews and fair prices but I definitely won't be coming back. I made an appointment on their third party scheduling website (Vagaro) for the same evening, the website told me I then needed to wait for the appointment to be confirmed and I would get a text. 4pm rolls around and I still haven't had any word back so I called the business and asked if my appointment was confirmed, they replied "no". I asked if I could still come in and they told me to come in at 5pm. The staff not checking their appointments was a little odd but I didn't have anything pressing so I went in at 5pm. This is my first time getting gel nails removed so I didn't really know what to expect. I came in and the place was mostly deserted except for two workers and someone getting their nails done. They sat me down, I waited a while for one of the workers to finish their manicure, she asked me if my nails were real or acrylics (they were very long, healthy, and natural before this) then they buffed my nails and painted a "gel remover" on top of my nails. They sat on my nails for ten minutes while the worker left to give someone a pedicure. Someone else came back with a bowl of alcohol or acetone, told me to soak them, then left. I soaked them for probably another 10 minutes and my fingers started to burn. Again, I really didn't know what to expect so I just waited. The first worker came back, inspected my nails (which hadn't done much, some parts were starting to flake/melt off) and questioned her coworker (in another language) if the bowl had alcohol or acetone in it, the second worker said it was acetone. She then sat down and proceeded to use a nail grinder to grind off all the polish since the soak did nothing. The worker didn't seem to care she was grinding my skin around my nails in the process, which hurt quite a bit. She finished grinding most of the polish off, leaving lots around the very edges of my nails, then buffed with a really abrasive brush, then said "your done". Didn't finish taking the polish off, didn't put any kind of cuticle oil or anything on my nails, and had ground my natural nails into a thin breaking mess. I pointed out the several areas she missed, she ground my nails further. Asked if that was fine, I asked if she could put something on top to protect them? She did a fast round of clear coat and left. They look terrible, have red spots where the nail was ground, feel very bumpy, and hurt when any pressure is applied. I had to cut them all the way down because catching them on anything hurts. This is really sad because my wedding is in a month and I was hoping to get gel for them a few days before and now I don't know if that's possible because of the state of them. After reading about proper gel removal, this grinding and soaking in straight acetone should never have happened in the first place. Do yourself a favor and skip this place! They don't seem to care about nail health or the finished product at all.

I feel quite honored to be the first reviewer of Endless Spa here on Yelp. : )…read more I was visiting the area for a couple weeks with my partner in July, and needed a massage BADLY, as I had been traveling up and down East Coast/New England, and in and out of houses, with no time for real exercise or stretching, for the past 4 weeks. I must admit I was very leery of the services they would have here - I mean come on - I'm from San Francisco and lived in NY, places where spa services are top notch all over the city, and I'm here in MAINE?? How good can a deep massage REALLY be in a small town of Maine? Well, I'm glad I can say I was proven WRONG! I had a one-hour treatment with Tiffany, and let me tell you - her knowledge and skill could have presented her from any cosmopolitan city - San Fran, NY, LA, etc. (but not Boston: sorry, but i had two different experiences in Boston that definitely was not at that level). I gave specific areas to be worked on, and she knew exactly what to do, and then some! I loved that she wanted to know exactly what I wanted - more of a general body massage? or more time on a specific area? - the latter of which is what I needed (iliopsoas/iT band, etc). She really went in there, slowly and carefully, and yes, DEEPLY and THOROUGHLY. She made sure I knew what was going on, and during the whole time was very pleasant to chat with, as well as making my session informative. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone. I also want to make note that Tiffany told me she was the youngest person (by experience there), and that only let me know how solid and serious the spa represents itself. I believe it has been around for over 10 years, and I guess their word-of-mouth is so entrusted as it even can be difficult to find a time slot to come in. So just make sure if you are in Damariscotta/Newcastle area, to call ahead. Thank you Tiffany and Endless Spa for making a summer vacation in Maine even more relaxing!

I absolutely loved my bridal make-up and can't believe that it managed to last all day AND night…read moreduring a HURRICANE. I had the fortune of getting married during hurricane lee and despite taking pre-wedding photos outside in the rain, my gorgeous make-up remained flawless well into the night. I love that About Face specializes in natural-looking make-up and uses many of the same products I use on a daily basis, free of harmful and harsh chemicals. My family and friends loved their make-up so much they were taking photos of and buying products on the spot. Linda also took great notes during my trial and I was so pleased that my day-of make-up looked exactly the same (I've seen some less than stellar matches on some of my friends). She was also able to create a look that went perfectly with my less-than-traditional wedding dress. My mom and I both had lash lifts done at About Face a week before the wedding as well, which I would definitely recommend if you prefer not to wear fake eyelashes. Not only did I avoid the annoying wedding tears with fake eyelashes and contact itching nonsense, but got to enjoy long, luscious lashes all throughout my honeymoon.
