Brought my car in to have it repaired for failed NJ Inspection and Tune up . Was told by Mike it would cost $800 just for the inspection repair and another $3200 for new tires, brakes etc . I told him just to do the Inspection for now, am a 79 year old widow on a fixed income. Spoke to my daughter and she told me to call and tell Mike not to do it., which I did about 2 hours after I spoke to him the first time . Went to pick up my car the next day and was charged $157 for the mechanic to look at my car . Took my car to Intrgrity Motors on route 9 in Galloway and was charged $765 , did not need tires or breaks . Don't go to Mainland Auti in Galloway, they took advantage of a senior citzen, Not Very Nice Mike ! read more

When I got into my car to leave work, my dashboard indicated a tire pressure problem. The back right pressure was at 9 PSI, the others were at 38 and 37. I momentarily panicked because I was heading to New York City and back that afternoon. I knew it was more than just a fix by putting air in the tire. I drove directly to Mainland Auto, obviously without an appointment. Even though their parking lot looked busy, when I explained my problem I was told to pull my car around back to the first bay. A technician was waiting for me as I parked my car. As it was 96 degrees that day, he even suggested I stay comfortably in the car with the emergency brake on and the air-conditioning running...so kind of him even though I felt a bit guilty. He quickly removed a nail from my tire, and assured me my car was 100% ready to drive to New York! My unplanned visit to Mainland Auto was quick and efficient! I was there for approximately 17 minutes, and was on my way to NYC! read more

Waaaaaay overpriced. Was quoted $650 for a few small fixes (vc gasket, plugs, wires, distributer, o2 sensors) Bought all the items online for under $150 and did myself. I know most shops will charge an arm and a leg to work on a vehicle but $500 over cost is a bit much. read more

The tensioner for the serpentine belt went bad, George was good with making an appointment. I dropped my car off the night before and they started working on it first thing next morning. George called to inform me of what they found, which was a tad beyond my request I made (I expected there to be extra repairs and parts, he did Not bait me on) and he gave me an estimate that I agreed to. He installed new parts and associated parts that a good mechanic would do to avoid a problem with something in the same system (so not to fix the same system little by little, which is annoying and costs more further down the road.) Mainland came recommended by my cousins. I was pleased with the service and work done. George spoke with me when I went to pick up my car and took his time despite being busy (out of respect I tried to not hold him up.) I had a good experience the next day with an employee who answered my question and responded to my benefit. So yes, I recommend Mainland. read more

This place is great. I have 2 European cars that I lease so i am particular where i take my cars to get serviced. My Mercedes GLK needed an oil change and the car requires Mobile 1 synthetic oil. i emailed Galloway Auto because i wanted to double check to see if they used that product. I was emailed back within 5 minutes with an employee that was super helpful and gave me a competitive price considering the car also requires a special filter. I did call around to other places as well and Galloway Auto still came in as the cheapest price. I secured a 11am slot on Tuesday right after Memorial Day. They took my car into the back right after i came in...no wait. I knew they were very busy but I waited. It took exactly 1 hour which was great considering it was right after a holiday and they were slammed. George, the employee behind the counter was extremely kind and helpful. They parked my car back out in front and parked in backwards so i could drive out with ease. Overall, the shop and waiting room was very clean and so were the employees. I told the mechanic he could put my seat back since i drive practically on the dashboard, and when i got back in the car, he had put the seat back to its original position. I know these are little things, however they all add up and when you see positive things at a mechanic shop, it makes you feel more at ease. I know oil changes are basic but i have gone to places in the past that tried to scam me or tried to get me to do other things that were not needed. When i went to pay, the price was still exact to what was given via email. thats honesty. I recommend this place and I'm happy i live near an honest auto shop i can take my cars in when needed. read more

Don't take your car here. If you have to, push it to anywhere else or let a high school kid work on while wearing a blindfold. My daughter's car started to shake and the check engine light was flashing after driving for about 110 miles. Not being from the area and being forced to stay near there, she took the car to Mainland. Blah Blah, we were told what the problem was, agreed to the outrageous charges (no options), then another $100 was added for a "plastic clip". But it gets worse: they didn't fix the problem! After about 110 miles, the car was shaking and the light was blinking again. read more

I really don't understand the reviews here, these guys at Mainland Auto are fantastic. Couldn't be nicer, service is always great, and they really go out of the way to help you. Even helped me with a quick tire issue on short notice and didn't even charge me anything. read more
