I brought my girls here before Halloween to have fun at a farm and pick out pumpkins. There were several different activities for the kids to do but the long lines and rude staff made the outing anything but fun. My wife and I have gone to Mainstay for a long time for pumpkins and Christmas trees, and we always have a blast. They seem to add something new every year which is another reason to come back. I have to say my favorite is either the 100 foot slide or the zip lines. Also, this place doesn't feel corporatey, I mean everything they have is nice, but it doesn't feel like a cookie cutter place, every thing feels authentic and hand made. This is really a tremendous place run by people with high integrity. The food is good, the people are nice, and we always have a good time. I'd say bring a camera, (and maybe take some anti-histamine because you are in the country, haha), and be ready for a good time! read more

This is a cute farm but it is very lacking when he comes to safety. The slides on the playground equipment are very steep, the tubing slide has a very steep incline which pops up at the end and is very easy to fly off of and hurt yourself, the ferris wheel is very rusty and rickety, and the roller coaster is very jarring and rough on the body (it has a metal piece that is very easy for little kids to hit the back of their head on). They have signs everywhere that say ride at your own risk as well as you have to sign a waiver before you go, so basically they can't be held liable for injuries. In addition, there is an absence of workers watching to make sure kids are safe. They do have animals (goats, bunnies, a donkey and chickens) you can pet, but they have signs everywhere saying that they bite. Also, they had large gas cans just sitting right out in the open under the covered table area that could be problematic if kids got a hold of them. They have cars you can ride and manually peddle, but half of them had issues and weren't working effectively. The tree maze is in a wooded area with lots of bugs, so make sure you bring bug spray or a mosquito net for baby strollers. We did bring our baby stroller, but your baby is going to get a jarring sitting in the stroller as you go over lots of rocks and bumpy terrain, also having to cart the stroller up/down steep hills is a workout. They have a new playground area which is nice but mostly for older kids, like 6 and above. It was ok to visit the first time, but after going a second time we were really not impressed and VERY concerned with the lack of safe equipment. We will not be going back. read more

Get out your ice chest and pack yourself a healthy picnic. Plan on a full day of outrageous fun for your children, grandchildren or whoever you bring with you. This farm is the best place around...worth every penny you spend. There is an old service station filled full of ice cream. My favorite is the bourbon bean Dr. Pepper float. A gift shop that is so beautiful and filled full of unique Christmas ornaments. A pumpkin cottage with a maze of sunflowers surrounding it. Perfect for picture taking. Zip lines, the gigantic tree house up on the hill. Mazes that will keep your children of all ages smiling. The restaurant makes spectacular curly fries. I always love the hayride! So many fun activities to do and fun seems to never end. Don't forget to swing in the gigantic bench swing (up on the hill). I'm already looking forward to next year's traditional picnic planned visit to Mainstay Farm. read more

Longest lines ever!!!! Waited 1hr just for face painting that costed $9 per child and looked like a 1st grader did it. Way too expensive. Paid $50 for 4 hot dogs and some chips. Every line was at least an hour long. So we didn't ride any rides due to the kids not wanting to wait that long. Horrible horrible experience. We also drove an hour for no reason at all. read more

I was worried this place wouldn't be worth the money. I was extremely wrong! There was so much to do. It's the perfect place for kids. There are all kinds of things to do. We easily passed 5 hours with all the activities. They have a trampoline type of thing, fun photo ops, playgrounds, bicycle tracks, carnival rides, a huge tube slide, pumpkin patch, train ride, face painting and a few mazes etc. This totally exceeded my expectations. Great for families with little kids. Our sons were a little bored with many of the games that are designed for 3-7 year olds. We still had a great time and cut down a Christmas tree. Overall we liked it, especially if you buy tickets online for a lower cost. read more

Fun place for a field trip! My kindergarten sons class came here today and they had a blast! Lots of stuff to do and they kept the different groups separated and organized changing different play stations. Hay ride was enjoyed by the kiddos and teachers... No parents.... Which allowed us to get pictures. Great place for a christmas field trip!!! read more

So disappointed! Not worth the $19.95 per person to get in. Total waste of money and time. There's no staff involvement, free activities were not fun, they have outrageous prices on EVERYTHING, and the lines were horrible for the activities that did cost. Website was deceiving - they didn't have rows and rows of pumpkins. Will not recommend to anyone. read more

We have always loved this place. Christmastime always reminds me of my parents. Not only have we cut down our own Christmas trees here we have enjoyed the festivities for years. Always smiling happy people. There was one occasion when I got stuck in the corrugated slide that I did not particularly think was funny but the entire group including my family got a huge laugh out of it. They have amazing funnel cakes. The staff has always been so helpful and there are a bunch of neat things to do here. My son and husband love the zipline. If you're ever around when this place is open I suggest you go to it check it out you won't be disappointed read more

My husband and I took our 18 month old daughter during the 2018 fall pumpkin days and we loved it! She had so much fun playing in the kiddy area and riding the little "train". We can't wait to go back once the weather warms up. It's definitely worth the money, and you can get tickets even cheaper if you pay online. We're definitely fans. Only thing I would say could be better is a wider selection of animals to pet, we only saw a few goats, a donkey, and some chickens. read more

I can't say enough good things about Mainstay Farms! My boyfriend and I came out to buy a Christmas tree, not expecting to stay for long. We had our little dog with us, and absolutely love that they are dog friendly. Our dog quickly made friends with their sweet dog, Bella. Great food, friendly staff, and they had something for everyone! We adored the walking trail and gift shops. And we found the perfect tree! We were shocked to realize we were there for almost 4 hours, and will definitely be back!! read more

I would not recommend this place. I was hurt on the big slide. They make you sign an ironclad waiver. It's been several months and I still not feel my thumb. I have a severe neck injury. They have no procedures on reporting injuries. They did give us a bandaid. This place is unsafe. Unprofessional. read more

This is a great place to take your kids and get a Christmas tree, it was a family tradition for the last 6 years. They have a hay ride and a-lot of things for the kids to play on. I would definitely give it 5 stars if I hadn't found out that they are now charging admission per person because people are apparently bringing their kids up there to play and not buying trees. I was told it was $14 a person which is ridiculous when were already paying about 20% more than we would at Home depot or Lowes for similar trees. If they would offer some recourse to those of us who've come up and spent $200 -$250 every year, Now I have to spend another $70 to walk in the door??? Maybe try a waived entry fee for tree purchase or apply the fee to the cost of the tree it would make sense, but to make everybody pay because other people are cheats doesn't fly with me. Too bad, we enjoyed the trip down there and tradition with our family, but most things end this way, unfortunately. read more

I would have given this 5 stars because there are alot of activities and much fun to be had HOWEVER PRICES ARE RIDICULOUS!!! It is not all inclusive after you pay entry fee, there are several of the more fun activities that are an additional charge $6.75 to ride a short zipline or the big slide, $6 to blast a few apples, $5.50 for a DINKY ear of corn, (they grow the corn so this is outrageous!) $3 for a small soda, $4 for 1 TINY scoop of ice cream. These prices put the whole experience out of reasonable reach for a family fun day at the "pumpkin patch". The pumpkins themselves are also expensive and stacked up for purchase on the way out. Im used to pumpkin patches where you literally walk into the patch and pick your pumpkin off the vine! We spent a total of just under $100 for 3 of us. I feel gouged and it took away from a feel good experience. Im surprised they didnt charge to park as well. Be prepared to empty your wallet if you go. read more

Last year I only gave a 3 star - this year they EARNED a 5!! Big difference to me was that last year after paying a healthy general admission you had to then pay additional fees for two of the main rides children would want to ride. I really appreciated that the farm decided this year to include those with the general admission and add the basketball game too!! This year we felt the price was fair for everything you could do on the property. Everything was very clean and in good condition with sufficient staffing. My ONLY suggestion would be that the parking attendants should not have people parking in the very back near the road entrance when a third of the spots near the front are empty. Elderly and parents with strollers appreciate being closer to the gate. :). My husband and I had a wonderful time enjoying all the attractions!! read more

I have been to Pumpkin Days every fall since 2006 and cannot wait for this year's celebration. Mainstay Farms is comfort food for the soul!

Decent entertainment but such a rip off. $5.50 for a hot dog and $3 for a water. Zero staff to assist with activities. The "petting zoo" is really a fenced area to feed goats through the fence no petting involved. Fountain Drinks are $6.50. read more

My family and I went to this farm for the first time this past weekend, and had a great time! There is fun to be had by everyone, no matter the age. I read reviews about this place before we went, and was a bit sketchy. Coming from Fort Hood, I wanted to make sure that it was worth the drive. If you are reading my review and coming from the same area, please get in your vehicle and go! It was definitely worth our drive, and our kids (3 & 6) had a great time. The price to get in is not bad, I don't really understand why people are saying it's so expensive. You pay to get in, and the admission includes so many free/fun things! The only thing that cost extra were the tube sliding, and the zip lining for the older kids. Even that was only like $6 per, but you get to go as many times as you want. We got to the farm a little after noon, and shut the place down! They close at 5:30, and even then, our kids were still playing. They have a sandpit, hay bales to play on, bounce areas (one for smaller kids, and one for older kids), a ton of different slides for all ages, train ride, hayride out to cut down your own tree, playground area, a few different tricycle areas, an area to cook your own s'mores, a visit with Santa & Mrs Claus, and good food as well. We unfortunately didn't get to try their desserts, but their hot chocolate was yummy! Santa & Mrs Claus made their rounds around the farm when they weren't busy. You can take your own pictures with them, which is great. Most places charge outrageous prices for pictures that you may or may not like. They had a little store that had unique things to buy as well. Clean bathrooms, with soap and water! If you don't have porta potties that's a plus for me, especially with little ones. We did not cut down our own tree, since I do not like the type of tree that they are (not sure of the name), but we did buy a tree from them. Definitely on the higher end, but get this! Honda salespeople were out walking around handing out cards, and if you take them to the cashier you got $60 off of your tree! So a $90 tree, we brought home for $30! So awesome that Honda and the Farm linked up to create an awesome deal for their customers. My family and i can't wait to go back! I wish we had made it a tradition every year, but will continue to do so for as long as we are in the Fort Hood area. read more
