The family who ran the farm and farm stand was let go and have moved on. Sadly, the farm stand is now closed and will be missed.

I've purchased hand-made jewelry and handbags as well as CD's from home-town musicians. Speaking of musicians, there's always someone playing music, which entertains everyone. There are usually toddlers dancing to the tunes. My suggestion would be to offer more ready-to-eat meals. I would like to be able to grab that day's lunch and bring it home to serve.

There is a wonderful variety of items to purchase with a healthy balance of produce and local goods. You can find seasonal vegetables, fruit, honey, bread, pastries, meats, seafood and gourmet spreads. Occasionally there is a vendor with unique goods like jewelry and cutting boards. There's even a knife sharpening station! As for the prices, I feel that they are completely in line with what you would pay for locally-grown produce. You can't expect to find the same prices on tomatoes as you would at Super Stop n' Shop, simply because it takes more energy and resources to grow locally and without chemical trickery. I don't know about you, but I'd rather pay a few more cents for a homegrown, grown-in-the-sun tomato than an overgrown tomato that tastes like a water balloon. Pet owners, make sure you bring someone to watch your dog while you shop. Because this is a place that sells food, bringing your pet near the tents is not permitted. (I wish there was a doggy drop-off area to help with this!)

At the farm store, we told the employee that we wanted to pick 4 quarts of strawberries for $40. On the board, it said 2 quarts $25, 4 quarts $40. But I asked for 2 boxes. The Woman told me that I have to buy only 1 box, can not be split. I paid $40 and walked to the field, about 15 minutes. When we got to the field, the employee informed me that 2 people can not pick strawberries to 1 box that we need to buy additional box to enter the field. They did not have any boxes to purchase there. I had to walk back to the front store, buy another box and walk back to the field. I am sorry, but that almost an hour of my time wasted. Plus aggravation of poor customer service. When I got to the store and asked for a refund, because I did not pick any strawberries, i was pointed to the board, where is said no refund. I was handled in the most rude way, wasting $40 of my hard earned money. Sunshine farm provides very poor customer service and lacking human factor. I will never go there again. I will be driving extra 30 minutes to Tougas farm, where employees are always happy to see you, care about customers and their business. It offers so much more!

They recently renovated, upgrading the charming farm stand to a full on rustic market. Fresh veggies, coffee station, frozen goods, jams, chocolate goodies and more. I usually come for the little walk around the farm to see what's growing, the u-pick flower garden, to swing on the swing set, and to see if any farm animals are around. There's a parking lot and picnic tables scattered around. Pricing is reasonable, u-pick is about $15, they used to charge by flower stem. They also host events and have activities for kids. Honestly, Weston is more of a suburb so it's a nice surprise for people when I tell them that there is actually more to see than large homes!

When we arrived to see the big rabbit there the girl that was tending to the bunny was rude to us and said to please step away as she was trying to get it to come to the front so she could place his food bowl inside? Then when the rabbit came to the front she tried to grab it but it ran away from her. My 27 year old Autistic son was trying to see it and was not standing too close but she said he needed to step away as she made it like it was his fault that the rabbit ran to the back again. I'm sorry? but that was just rude of her as we just wanted to get a close look at the cute bunny. She made us feel very unwelcome. I then said to my son c'mon let's go and told him we can come back on a Saturday or something when hopefully she isn't there and that other on-lookers will be there too! I said it right in front of her! We just live the next town over but imagine if we drove a long way and wanted to see the animals and check the place out and were told to keep our distance from the bunny? The rabbit looked just fine and probably would have eaten anyway if he/she was hungry. She made it run back by trying to grab it not my son being there just looking at it. Such rude staff they have there..we won't be back!!

Here's a breakdown: What worked well / strengths The staff were extremely kind and helpful. The grounds and orchards were well maintained and offered enjoyable scenery and walking paths. The cider donuts are outstanding. There are plenty of activities in the orchards, which my students enjoyed. What could improve... The food offerings were not ideal. The quality felt closer to a school lunch standard, but with a price tag higher than expected. As for the cider itself, I'm not a huge fan of it generally, so I can't strongly endorse that part of the menu. Prices for picking or admission can feel steep even for a group rate. Belkin / Lookout Farm is a lovely destination with lots of charm, especially for seasonal visits and orchard-based activities. If you're going primarily for the cider or food, temper expectations. But if your goal is to have students enjoy the orchard, fall vibes, fresh donuts, and outdoor experience, it delivers well.

I haven't been back in a long time and went on a weekday and boy was it different since kids are back in school. It was relatively quiet but still happy they were open and no lines or crowds. You no longer pay by weight. You pay per person at $37/adult and they give you a tiny bag to fill up with apples, pears, peaches and other fruits they have. If you want to purchase another bag it is $15! Parking is complimentary and there is no train, we had to walk! Not sure if that is just because it is a weekday and not a weekend. We did get some Asian pears, peaches, nectarines and apples. At the end we bought Apple cider and donuts at the market.

I spoke to the woman at the stand for the Wayside Inn and asked if there was more coming. She said lots of farms want to come but she turned them down because she didn't want to give the two small stands that were there too much competition. WHAT? Instead, she's trying to attract different kinds of product and crafts and such... Okay, this isn't a craft fair, it's a FARMER'S MARKET. Bring in the farmers! Competition drive down prices and adds variety (even with goods that might be the same basic food, there are differences from farm to farm), which brings more people. I want choice! At least one of the two farms represented is actually down the road and has it's own shop with more variety anyway. There is no reason to bother going to this farmer's market.

Blah, there was nothing worth buying Also as mentioned in Dawn's review, we asked about more stands and the owner turned prospective farmers down? Seriously? From a business point thats really just dumb. She said something about giving too much competition and they already make a lot of money with the small stand they already have but they really didn't have much to get excited about! I won't drive from the city to come here, and if Dawn makes me go again, I will slap her. Smarten up and get some more farmers in! Variety is the spice of life.
