Hearing the music floating in the air as you moved from space to space was so nice. Gorgeous, but still pretty early on the season for flowers. The music and wonderful art made it a really lovely evening. The cafeteria and bar were also serving and had a good selection.

It was built during the Roaring Twenties and its magnificence sure reminded me of the mansions I've seen in Newport, RI. There is a grand foyer at the main entrance where you'll see a gorgeous chandelier hanging from the ceiling. There is Italian marble flooring, oak and mahogany wood trim everywhere, artwork on the walls and on the furniture, a music room with a piano, and six bedrooms, There are gardens, a reflecting pool, even a gazebo, so the photo opportunities are endless. We started with a cocktail hour under a tent and enjoyed fruit and crudities and then passed hors d'oeuvres, such as Caprese skewers, goat cheese and honey filled strawberries, shrimp and more. The cocktail hour continued as we moved inside and even more hors d'oeuvres came parading out of the kitchen. Dinner was served in the Fountain View Room - its big enough to hold 275 guests in a sit-down dinner and their dance floor is 750 square feet big! The food was excellent, and so was the ice cream bar that offered every known accompaniment under the sun. On our wedding day they really tended to our every need. This venue really goes above and beyond. They offer so much more than other venues. When booking your wedding you also have the option to rent out rooms at the estate. The estate also has a bridal party hair and makeup house (called the rose cottage). At the estate it is set up with a grooms man wing and a bridal wing with the Spanish room meeting at the center. So you and your bridesmaids get ready at the rose cottage and then head over to the garden room in the bridal wing. This room has glass windows that can overlook when your guests arrive for your ceremony. I love it! Jasmine allowed us an early checking for hair and makeup at the rose cottage and from the second we arrived she was on it! Bringing up fruit plates and wine/champagne (which you order in advance but it is reasonable). This alone was so nice. No need to get ready at a hotel and shuttle the wedding party over. I brought quite a bit of decorations and the Harding Allen Estate team did a fantastic job at setting this all up, this included my own plates and cups which they washed and repackage. I was shocked to find all my decorations were wrapped the exact way I brought them. There was so much attention to detail. We also had a few food allergies and they were able to accommodate for both the wedding and the rehearsal dinner, and it was delicious! We used the in house catering because we had a smaller wedding. This is truly a family run establishment, some of the people on staff who weren't related to Jasmine and Suzy were also related. It truly felt like a family, the staff was so kind and respectful. For the wedding we used DJ fusion who has done many weddings at the Estate and he did a great job. For photographer we used Amanda Adams Photography (the pictures attached to this review are screen shots from our wedding video, just a family member with a camera. Amanda shot one of them which is pretty easy to tell which one). Jasmine does a fantastic job and two weeks before your wedding you're really a priority for her and she does respond pretty quickly but if its prior to 2 weeks before your wedding you may have to wait for a response. Honestly getting married at the Harding Allen Estate was the best decision we made. It was such a dream. I think this is going to be one of the top wedding venues in New England, especially with all the extras you get (bridal hair and makeup area, after party for you and the guests staying at the venue, vintage car, beautiful separate cocktail, ceremony and reception areas, the gardens, the breakfast the next morning). The steak tips were ok, I had asked for them medium and they were charred on the outside and very rare in the middle but otherwise edible. The bill came to $157 for four, which was fine and we asked to split the bill in half. The waitress came back with two checks for $97 each without bringing back the original bill so we could double check if there was a mistake. She did not apologize or otherwise say much when the mistake was called to her attention. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth., no pun intended.

The bathroom had no racks for drying towels. The coffee that was available in the morning in the lobby cost $2. The desk clerk who checked us didn't make the electronic room keys active for both nights of our visit and no one was at the desk when we returned the second night. When the clerk appeared several minutes later she apologized but it was clear that the good service we had come to expect was gone.
