Such a cute winery and definitely a hidden gem tucked away! I loved all the different seating areas, both inside and outside. The outdoor area had such a gorgeous view, and they even had cornhole to enjoy while relaxing with your wine. Inside, they had a nice selection of snacks that paired well with the tastings. We ended up trying both the wine tasting and the sangria tasting. The rosé was probably my favorite! I was hoping we'd be able to walk a little farther down through the vines, but unfortunately that area was closed off during our visit. Overall, we had a great experience and the service was wonderful. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a cute winery to relax and enjoy some drinks! read more

Wow their white wines are simply delicious! I liked them all so much it is hard to pick my favorite. I decided on a glass of the wicked white. Light not dry at all and nice flavor. I'm usually a Cabernet drinker and their Malbec was to die for! Sooo very smooth and mellow wow! My boyfriend bought a bottle of the Vidal blanc which was a bit too sour for me. Their wines were around $20 a bottle, they also have wine slushies for $10 a glass. Inside is classy and new looking, they have 2 small bars and a few tables. Outside is beautiful with some picnic tables and a cute porch next to the scenic vineyard. Dogs are allowed outside, not sure about inside. Very impressed with their wines, we will def make another visit! read more

Beautiful venue for a bridal shower this past weekend. Food was provided by and set up by the bridal party, decorations were set up and provided by the bridal party. One bartender was the only person on duty to service 50+ guests. She was overworked but gracious, everyone appreciated her hard work. Owner walks in 30 minutes before the end of the rented time and requests us to leave because her regular business day was beginning even though we had paid for the entire time. Made us take our trash with us! What??? Never will I ever recommend this venue and on top of all of this a 30% gratuity was required! For what? What did you do ? I visit wineries all the time when I travel and from the 5 i was able to visit during our stay, I must say this one is one of the best ones (this is not Napa or Chile) it is Massachussets! So those giving it bad reviews should consider that Massachusetts wine is not the best tasting wine. This is a Beautiful winery! The owner is very knowledgeable about their wines and the tasting room is very pleasant. You can bring your own cheese and salami platters to pair with your wine. The property is beautiful. The wine glasses you get with the tasting are also of good quality. If you are looking for a place to spend a good afternoon This is the place to visit in the heart of Massachusetts. Next time you plan a trip to Boston you can do a stop here and enjoy the beauty! In regards to the actual wine itself, I can't say it was delicious. I only enjoyed one Red. I think their wines are still very young and their winemaker has not perfected the balance in the acidity, tannin, alcohol levels. I must agree with other reviewers that the wine is not there yet. But I think it has potential. I personally think this venue can be great to host events and the views are beautiful and homey feeling. They did a great job with the decor. Great location have been there many times. They recently went on TikTok. I went today and I would describe the vibe as chaotic. Like they were not prepared for the TikTok effect. They had a private event which they did not list on their website so everyone else had to sit at the picnic tables and walk around the building to get drinks. Not a huge issue but would have been nice to know in advance as I would have liked to sit on the back deck. That being said... I feel that they need to work on how to handle their newfound guests. Some of the staff were a little testy. There was a clear lack of management. I love the venue so I'll give it one more shot but they need to get their act together. read more

I have been going to this vineyard for a few years now. It recently changed ownership, but the new owners kept the great perks that the initial owners had established, while adding a few improvements of their own. One of the best things about this vineyard is the atmosphere.There is plenty of seating both under the covered porch and on the grounds. One really nice thing about this Vineyard is they allow you to bring your own food with you while you are enjoying their wine. Other local vineyards have gotten rid of this policy and I refuse to go back, especially being the designated driver and not being allowed to bring in my own water. I will continue to bring my guests to Broken Creek Vineyard. read more

I love this venue so much. Small. Quiet. Beautiful. Perfect place to enjoy a nice summer day in Shrewsbury. We love to buy a bottle of wine and sit outside with our own picnic of food. Now for the negative....and this is a BIG deal to us, our biggest complaint and the reason for 2 stars is because all too often during the very short summer season, they close for private events during regular business hours. And although it is clearly posted on their website for planning purposes-this still takes away from a very limited time that the public can enjoy the venue. I believe they are open 12-6 on Saturdays and Sundays. However, if there is a private event, they won't open until 3 or they will close at 3....so during the best hours of the day, they are closing their doors for the average patron coming to enjoy the wine and venue. I really wish that the owners would reconsider their private event times. Or perhaps provide a specific area for private events without closing to the public. We can easily go and spend our time at another local winery that does not shut down for private events but would rather continue supporting Broken Creek. read more

I understand people have different skills, but it would have been nice. I knew they did not do tasting before we went. My plan was to buy 4 - 6 bottles, so we could try several. We spent a nice hour or so tasting a variety of wines ranging from a sweet white to a robust red. Most of them were made from their own estate grapes. They have a small tasting room with a deck with tables and umbrellas where you can sit & sip your wine and enjoy a peaceful view of the vineyard and the hills of Central Mass. I grew up just a town over from Broken Creek, so I was thrilled when I heard a new local vineyard was moving in just down the road. I enjoyed watching the property develop from the planting of the vines to the opening of the tasting room. After visiting the vineyard for a $10 tasting, I am afraid that the wine still needs a little work. The tasting room is lovely and very comfortable with a small corner bar. They also have a pleasant back porch overlooking their vines. They have an impressive number of wines available considering that they are still a young vineyard, including traditional varietals as well as more unusual grapes that are estate grown, which is wonderful! The wines were very young (which is not a bad thing), but for me, the whites were very light and overly acidic that detracted from some of the nice tropical fruit flavors. The reds were very fruity but almost to the point of tasting syrupy or medicinal. I ended up deciding not to purchase a glass or a bottle. I look forward to watching them grow and to taste the next vintage! read more

I was so excited to try this vineyard, especially after all of the positive reviews on Yelp. I hate to give a less than glowing review for a local business, but the wine here was just not good. My husband and I stopped in for a tasting this weekend and the location and tasting room are just beautiful. I really enjoyed the "homey" feel with the long tables and inviting candles as well as the beautiful porch complete with tables to sip wine and enjoy the view of the vines. The first thing that concerned me was the presence of scented candles in the tasting room. For me, tasting wine has a lot to do with smell and the smell of those candles really detracted from the wine tasting. We did a 5 wine tasting for $10 and by the end of the tasting, I still hadn't found a wine that I enjoyed. Overall, the white wines are very acidic with little flavor and the reds have an almost medicinal quality to them. We've done a lot of wine tastings, and while I didn't expect bold aged reds given both the location and the "newness" of this vineyard, I was hoping for good flavor without an ethanol undertone. I really hope that aging helps these wines and things will improve with time. We'll give them a couple of years and hope they've got things sorted out by then. read more

Eric is a complete jerk. I was trying to book this venue for my daughters baby shower. She initially filled out the paperwork and apparently it wasn't done correctly. She has put in two dates in case one wasn't available. He sent an email telling us to fill it out correctly, which we did. Somehow she missed the spot about mailing in a check and so a week later he sent another email asking for the deposit. Fine. I went to send the check and realized I was out. I sent an email asking if I could pay another way because I had run out of checks. A few hours later I received a kinda nasty email just cancelling the date. I called him and he was even more nasty on the phone. He kept talking over me when I was explaining the situation and asking if I could just use a credit card. He's not the type of person you want to do business with for sure. I ended up hanging up on him because he was so disrespectful. Probably why the place is for sale! read more

We had a wonderful day at Broken Creek Vineyard! From the moment we arrived we were impressed with all aspects of this winery. My daughter, granddaughters, and I like to visit different wineries for tastings and finding new wines. We found the venue offered three options, indoor, patio, and picnic tables all with a beautiful view of the vineyard. Peggy made some great suggestions based on our individual tastes. The facilities were lovely, and we enjoyed our lunch on the porch and selected some of our favorite wines to take home. This was our first visit to Broken Creek and it will not be our last. We attended a bridal shower here yesterday. A bridesmaid informed them there weren't enough seats for everyone. The bartender/owner pointed at 2 chairs and said there are empty seats. She said that those were already taken. He said there are plenty of seats. Turns out 5 people needed to eat outside on the deck alone in 100 degree heat because there we're not enough chairs. At 12:30, they demanded we begin to clear all the tables. (They would only let us reserve the space until 1:00). They were rude about it and followed people around literally instructing us to move our belongings. The male owner moved a chair from right behind a guest who was standing at the table and pushed it over to another table. Had we not warned her, she would've ended up on the floor. After 1:00, a group of 4 women came in and sat next to our table. The female owner said loudly "feel free to move to another table to get away from the chaos" (by this point there were only 10 of us at one table left). It may be a nice enough spot for a quick glass of wine, but steer clear if you're looking to host an event. This is not a welcoming venue at all. read more

Vineyard was cute and the wine was very good. The owners were not too friendly as we brought are two children (who are very well behaved) and the bee's were everywhere so it was hard to enjoy. What a fantastic place, tucked in the woods of Shrewsbury. To their great advantage, the little road (off of Route 20) was recently paved. I was surprised at the spacious vineyard. Amid the pandemic, no tasting yet, but many tables out back in the sun - or shade. Very clean bathrooms! And most importantly, we drank the popular Albarino white, which was perfectly described at the counter, and it was the right flavor today. Go visit!! read more

Absolutely loved it here. Having grown up in Shrewsbury I could not be more excited that they got such a perfect winery up the street from my old house. The venue itself is gorgeous inside and out. The wines are great, and a lot of them are made with locally grown grapes, which was really neat to get to enjoy. I will be back often, and I'm very excited to see them as they continue to grow. We had an amazing time at Broken Creek Vineyard. Prices we great, only $10 for a 5 wine tasting flight and you get to keep the wine glass!! It was our first time visiting and must say, we will be back again! Peggy is extremely knowledgeable about the various types of grapes, fermentation process and the harvest season. The tasting room is cozy and will soon be expanding to have a larger bar, seating area and a spacious patio that overlooks the vineyard. After the wine tasting we bought a bottle and enjoyed cheese and crackers, while we sat at one of the tables outside, overlooking the vineyard. read more
