Not a good experience. My daughter and I went for pedicures. Hers was done by Gloria and was great. Mine was awful. She never buffed my feet or my nails. I had to ask her to use the buffer on my feet. I asked if they had time for a manicure. I get shellac. She did such a poor job. It was obvious she didn't want to do it. Five minutes after leaving it's chipped. She didn't even clean u see my nails. She didn't ask if I wanted them shortened. She barely trimmed my cuticles. She didn't put lotion or cuticle oil on.

They lasted 2 days before polish started to chip at the tips.

I called ahead same day for a pedicure. From the phone call through the time I left, Gloria was delightful and authentic. Relaxing and friendly atmosphere. I loved that the TV was on the puppy channel. Pedicure was gentle and thorough, and polish was cleanly applied. This is a humble and sweet little small business. Awesome nail place! My wife and I have visited a number of places over the years in Maui, Seattle, Tacoma and Cozumel Mexico. This is our favorite! Great service and knowledge. The store front is just a tad bit hard to find, tucked in next to several other stores. read more

I had a destination wedding I was getting a pedicure for. Together we came up with a color that just didn't come out like we thought. I was not going to complain at all as they did what I agreed to. I received a text a short time later asking if I was happy with the outcome. I replied that it was not as I expected. She scheduled me to come back the next day before my trip. Special care was taken to make sure the quality was good and I was happy. Many places in my opinion would never even notice I was disappointed let alone call to inquire. I am sorry to write a negative review but I depend on Yelp when looking for a specific business so want to share my experience. Glo is warm and lovely. She did my husband's pedi and it was okay. I saw Mai for an acrylic fill with gel polish and I am dissatisfied with her work. While trimming skin around the nail, Mai would cut and jerk the clipper away. Sometimes she didn't cut through and it would rip the skin. No apologies when it hurt. It took several days for my thumb to heal. The nails are done with ridges at the cuticles that looks bad. Two nails lifted 3 days after I was there. Lifting acrylic nails are painful! So I have to find someone else to replace those. The polish is poorly applied - thin double coat with no top coat. I was very much hoping for a long-term nail tech and made that clear during my appointment but I just can't go back. I want to add that I have had acrylic nails for 30 years in our prior hometown. My nails only lifted from the nail bed when my tech used an inferior product - one time. I guess I have been spoiled. read more

Mai did a lovely job! Hubby and I needed predicates and we made our appointment and got right in! She did a lovely job and a nice little leg massage to boot! The shop is clean and she is very nice. We will definitely go back and maybe even try a haircut for the hubby next time! read more

We stopped by upon the shop's opening in hopes of (not expecting) a "walk-in" appointment for two. Visitors in the area, in need of pedicures. Were asked to return in an hour (we were staying 5 minutes away). What a treat! Very personable, welcoming, and absolutely wonderful pedicure experience for both my husband and me. I came in here today last minute. The owners, a mother and daughter, were very accommodating as I had only called 15 minutes before she squeezed me in. I didn't feel rushed and my pedicure is super pretty! The lady who did my nails was sweet, conversational, and my massage was amazing! I'll definitely be going back soon! read more

A dear friend and I took a two day getaway to Newport and called a few salons to see who could take us at the last minute on a Saturday. Mai was able to see us both at 11am and we sat next to each other in the only two salon pedi chairs available. Fun color selection, each pedi $35, and she was diligent about making sure we wore our masks, washed our hands, used hand sanitizer, and social distanced behind a clever screen she made to place between her and the client, aside from the feet, which she pedicured with gloved hands. The leg massage and scrub were fantastic and the polish was satisfactory, minus a couple of spots on surrounding skin that were easy to remove afterward. We will come back if our feet are ever in need in Newport. :) read more

This was the only location that had a day of appointment on a Friday. The reviews were pretty positive so I gave it a try. Mai was sweet and very nice. I think she is the only person that works there. If you're in a hurry, don't even stop in. Prepare for slower, but friendly service. I asked for a shellac mani and a regular pedi and needed my eyebrows cleaned up. My shellac mani lasted 2 days before the first nail started to chip. She charges 20 for a shellac mani, which is less than what I normally pay, so you get what you pay for. My eyebrows were waxed too thin for my liking. I asked for a clean up and trim, not nearly expecting how much was actually waxed off. Overall, she was a nice lady and her prices were very reasonable. However, the next time I visit Newport and need my nails done, I will make sure to book an appointment with a different salon ahead of time. read more

DONT GO HERE!!! she doubled her prices for a quick repair and a fill,,---did horrible work. didnt do half the filing, grinding that is required so that nails dont lift. .....and then to top it all when i pointed out how bad they would look she blamed me...... STAY AWAY..... read more

Visiting Newport and my nails completely chipped while in town. They were able to get me in quickly and did a fantastic job. Gloria took time removing the acrylic dip I had and replaced with gel fill and polish. I have tiny nail beds and most places end up knicking me, not Gloria! So thankful she was able to work me in and took her time. They were also very friendly and make you feel right at home. They are a life saver and I will visit again when in the area to try their pedicures. read more

Yeah called to see if we needed an appt she said yes I told her there were two she told me sure I would have to do one at a time told her that was fine she said can you come right now? Told yes and told her where we were she said ok got here and she said oh you called and I said yes she said oh didn't think you were coming so I booked someone else. SERIOUSLY!? It took us 7 minutes and I told her where we were in 7 minutes you couldn't wait? Yeah you suck!! UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Thank You for wasting our time driving to get there... read more

She just isn't very detail oriented. I felt like I had a kid painting my nails. Looked terrible and had to have them redone. She seems annoyed and uninterested. It's a one person shop with junk everywhere. It was noisy from the bounce house kids next door. so between the horrible "spa experience" and the ridiculous pedicure that needed to be done by another salon I have to rate it 1 star. I hope she takes a continuing ed class on nails- she needs it. read more

Very happy with Mai. She's an independent owner running this shop by herself. My daughter went in for mani pedis on a stormy summer day to get out of the wind. Mai is incredibly friendly and thorough. She's not fast, this is not a high volume place like in the city it's a beach town, if you are prepared to relax and enjoy some conversation this a a perfect place for you. She's got a great selection of colors both traditional and gell. Her place feels clean and welcoming. I'll be back the next time I'm through town. read more

Cute little shop in a touristy strip near the aquarium. I was in town for a night and needed a shellac manicure. I went around to several places that offered walk in service and was told no time and ALL of them wanted $35 for a shellac mani (there was none to remove) and they were cash only. Mai made time for me, was polite and professional and was almost half the price at $20 however you wanted to pay. I had been reluctant after reading reviews here but I was very happy with her service. read more

Wanted a pedicure and Mai was able to fit me in that afternoon. I drive right by her shop without noticing, but FYI it's right on Ferry Slip Road, not set back in Aquarium Village like my navigation was telling me. It's a small shop but really pleasant. I was the only customer in there and Mai was quick and attentive. My feet feel so smooth and I love the color selection. Will definitely go back when the time rolls around for another pedicure! read more

I was impressed she gave us a leg message with pedicure.Everywhere we go along the coast ,we do not received them.ITS part of a pedicure. TERRIBLE!! I've never had such a bad experience in 50 years of getting my nails done..First of all I called 2 days ago to make this appointment. I asked for a pedicure and gel manicure. So the pedicure was adequate even if it looked like a child put on the polish..started by using the electric drill to take off the old gel polish on my nails. I told her my nails are very fragile and paper thin..she then switched to foil and acetone which would have been fine except she took it off too soon and started scrapping my nails with a cuticle pusher.. I again told her she is being too rough and if she leaves the foil and acetone on longer it should come off in one clean swipe. But no she just rushed right thru and scrapped and filed and my nails until they were left rough and red streaked and sore..she quickly applied 2 sloppy coats of gel missed a couple edges, and didn't like when I pointed it out. As I was paying her I decided to tell her I felt she had damaged my nail beds and she told me I was too picky and I should go up the street next time and that it was my fault because I didn't tel her I had gel nails on????? and she had to get to next client..Which by the way I told her on the phone and while I was getting a pedicure.. I feel insulted and damaged by her and I wish I had not left her a tip..Please don't go here!!! read more

I went and got a full set of nails and burned my cuticles left snail burn makes on three different fingers and my nails broke within two days of having them it was the worst nail job I ever got in my life never going back here and I don't recommend anyone to go here stay away read more
