I was a little wary after reading some of the reviews but I made an appointment for a pedicure and went in. The salon is nice and clean. Nice pedicure chairs. Parking is easy. I was taken within 5 min of my appointment time and got a very nice, thorough pedicure for a low price. They are fast and efficient. They're not overly friendly but I'm not there to make friends and I've been to enough nail places to know the routine. They have a steady flow of customers, so I'd recommend calling ahead for an appointment. I'm very satisfied with my pedicure and will make A Nails my regular salon. read more

I'm not a negative person and I tend to trust the artists, but this was the worst set I have ever received. Decided to give myself a pedicure for my birthday. Based on previous review, I expected a relaxed & friendly experience. Walked in & was told to pick a polish color. The man did not introduce himself. He was rough & when I finally (absolutely HAD to) said "ow", he asked "Do you want me to leave it?". That was the sum total of verbal interaction. I've been looking for a regular nail salon to go to and I finally found one. It was definitely a great experience and a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere unlike the last salon that I went to. I was also running late for my appointment and they were able to adjust the time for me. Also, I really enjoyed seeing the team work between them jumping from doing pedicures, manicures and so on while still showing quality and great service. The end result, they look much better than they did when I walked in, which ultimately was my goal. And they were cordial enough if a bit brusque However for $35 shellac manicure... limited colors, which isn't the end of the world, but the whole manicure it took maybe 35 mins,cursory manicure, I could still see rough edges when she started to apply polish, was left resetting and pushing shellac dryer machine (two more times) on my own, which was just prior to being told to put lotion on my hands and it's $35. Went to see John and Lindsay for years. Moved out of the area but they always did great work.

When Linsey left, so did the friendliness and great nail service. John doesn't do a good job and my solar nails started loosening and/or falling off too soon after having them done. He refused to do a nail repair for me. When calling the salon, expect to get no answer or a message about the mailbox being full. Now you have to book an appt. long in advance AND pay for it in advance even if you've been coming to the salon for years and John knows you. He is a poor businessman as well as being a generally unfriendly guy. I will never go there again. read more

This salon provides consistent friendly quality service!! I have been here several times over the years when visiting from California. My grandma, mom, and aunts come here regularly. I have never heard a complaint from any of them! The only reason I did four stars instead of five is that I am used to all the extra options, powders, etc back in CA. I have been a customer at this business for close to a decade. I can't remember what year Jon and Lydia took over the business, but I know it was a long time ago. Today when I arrived at my 10 AM appointment, I needed to use the restroom pretty desperately. So I came in, walked straight past both the owners and used the restroom. I then, after washing my hands returned to the waiting area where I sat and waited for almost 15 minutes past my appointment time before Jon was ready to do my nails. Now mind you, this man has been doing my nails for years. We usually sit and chitchat the entire time of my appointment about anything and everything. After asking if I washed my hands, he proceeded to do the fill on my acrylic nails. I noticed he was doing a rather poor job, not using very much product, very little sanding or manicuring of the acrylic. Then I realized he had not said a word to me and I wondered if he was just stressed out or something. He finished my fill in 15 minutes time, which would usually take 30 to 45 minutes. When he finished and had my nails drying in the ultraviolet light, he told me I owed him $35 for this fill. I looked at him and asked why it was $35, if their price had gone up.? He said it was $25 for the fill, and $10 for using the bathroom because they had signs up that said because of COVID-19, the bathrooms were not for customers and now he had to sterilize it. Yes, I did notice COVID-19 signs all over the place, but probably like most people, I didn't exactly read them. I just knew I had to wear a mask and I need to wash my hands when I got there, which I did after using the restroom. Nowhere did it say there would be a fee if I used the bathroom, which is just ludicrous in the first place. I've been into pretty much every business I would typically visit prior to COVID-19, and I've never seen anything anywhere that said that you couldn't use the bathroom. He did such a terrible job that I had to fix them when I came home and the nailbed area that he filled is very very visible where the acrylic nail ended prior. Horrible job!. read more

I wanted to get my nails done so we stoped by. I walked In at 4:00 and there were two girls drying their nails. Two people walked out from the back. She asked what I needed and I looked at their menu on the wall which stated they the do acrylic nails. She told me that the DO NOT DO THEM. Both were very rude. A nails was recommended to me by someone in Newport. I got my nails done here and all the gel nail polish cracked that same day, which has never happened to me before and they wanted to charge me $10 just to add decorative diamonds. I went in to get them fixed and they said they didn't have time. They are short staffed. Even when the clear gel polish top coat was drying, the nail polish left bubbles and had to be redone. I made an appointment for a 3:30 fill - Showed up at 3:25 then had to wait for 45+ minutes until around 4:20 until they actually even came over to help me, instead they started two girls who were getting full sets and didn't have an appointment who had just sat down in the waiting area when I arrived. When we finally started I could already tell the style was much different than I was used to but I didn't mind as long as they look decent I just needed a quick fill until I got back home. At the end of my appointment (a simple fill / polish) I was charged $45...kind you the girls before me who I waited on for my appointment got full set, designs, and rhinestones for just $55. Even at my salon I go to in Portland that is on the pricey side only charges me $35 for this simple fill. Their price menu in this salon also says a fill is $25?? I was fine with the visit just counting it as a salon I'd not be visiting again but today less than 24 hours after my appointment my nails started peeling. For $45 plus tip I just don't think this is reasonable. read more

It would be a one star for the terrible fungus that I got after a pedicure -- it took nine months, several doc visits and various more intense prescriptions to clear it up -- but they do offer good services, good massage, for a good price. The fact that they don't thoroughally clean and have drainage issues is unforgiveable. When I tried again and returned, I told Lindsay about the lingering fungal issue and she said no one had ever said that before, although I know several people who've quit going here due to getting athlete's foot or worse here. So that was the last straw for me; I now go to more expensive spas that are careful about their cleanliness and their reputations. read more

This was my first visit to A nails and wow was I amazed. I was in town for a brief visit and was interested in a pedicure. When I walked in, I was rudely greeted by a man named John...he asked me what I wanted. I told him I was interested in a pedicure to which he replied to come back because they were busy. When I returned approximately 30 min later (3:30p) a nice young lady did my pedicure. When my toes were ready for color to which I was still deciding on, John; again, rudely told me to 'hurry up because they close at 4pm'...it was 4:10pm. In surprise I said 'okay'...then he proceeded to tell me that 'if I didn't like it, don't come back'. Wow, this is how he treats paying customers?? Maybe he was having a bad day? Although I noticed I wasn't the only one there during that hour that he was rude and impatient with. An elderly woman next to me waiting to get her nails done said he kept putting away the magazine she was trying to read. She wasn't happy and felt rushed. The worst part is the young Lady who did my pedicure said he is generally like this and is rude to his fellow coworkers including herself. Overall, bad business. I will not return. read more

After moving to Lincoln City, OR from California I was having trouble finding a nail salon that could do my nails to my satisfaction. Well I may have just found the right fit. A Nails, is very relaxing, clean as a whistle and reasonably priced. I told John exactly how I wanted my nails done and he came through with flying colors. Lindsey did my pedicure and it was perfect. No complaints. I would definitely recommend "A Nails". Be aware though that an appointment is best, especially in the busy season in the summer. Word to the wise... I've been going there for a year and a half now. I get gel nails refilled (actual jel nails, not just gel polish) and a color change. As a lot of other reviews say, they lack common courtesy. They only put 2 coats on-you can still see the nail underneath-and gets huffy if you ask for a third, which makes the color more rich and have better depth, if you ask me. I even offer to pay more for it. The 2nd time I was there, he cut me above the cuticle with his grinder enough to bleed. He actually had the audacity to blame me. Said I jerked. Well, for the record, I didn't jerk until he cut me. Also, it burns like a bleepidtybleep every time he grinds, slapping your hand if it starts to slip away on its own accord. I giggle nervously and say "sorry-it burns" but he says nothing. Why am I the one apologizing? He's hurting ME, not the other way around! So I wanted to go crazy and get chrome and iridescence, of which they don't do. I asked him if he'd put on the powder for me (that gives it the effect) if I bought some. He said yes. But when I brought the chrome in, first he didn't have the ability, but after another customer called him out on it and said "all you have to do is brush the powder on", he relented. But when the time came, he didn't know what to do but wouldn't read the instructions. I'd have to say "the instructions say..." several times before he relented and decided to read them for himself. It came out crappy, and his attitude was so poor, unhelpful and such a turnoff, that it took a year before I timidly tried again with the iridescence. Again with the feeling that I'm putting him out. He brushes the powder on. Asks "now what?" There's powder all over my fingers that the instructions say to rub off and put another top coat on. He didn't want to and feigned ignorance. Suggested I wash my hands, which I did. Washed off all that iridescence. I showed him what happened. He basically just shrugs and suggests "what do you want ME to do about it?" I mean, he would have put it on again, but you can sense his annoyance. It's so palatable. Sigh. Nothing. Don't bother trying to help. And since he only put 1 coat of color on, now they look like crap. I went out to my car and cried. Yes, I did. I cried. All the way home. And some more at home. That's when you know it's time to move on, when he freaking makes you cry. Unfortunately, there's no one else in Npt who does gel nails so these days are over. I'm never going back. read more

This place has horrible customer service. There are only 2 people that work there. When I first got my pink and white done, I was happy with it. Until 2 days later. I started getting air bubbles under my nails and then 2 of them fell off. I tried to go back in to have it fixed and they told me that they didn't have time. Because I have an important meeting to attend in 2 days I had to go in search of another place. I am so glad I did! B Nails in Lincoln City is completely worth the drive!! They not only have a much bigger selection but it is also a more comfortable salon, they accept more than just cash, the service is way better and there are more techs! I am so frustrated with this nail salon and the owners I could scream! We have been customers for a few years. I always call ahead to make an appointment for my husband and I and we tip well. A few months ago we came in for our appointment and they told us they were over an hr behind and couldn't get us in at our scheduled time. We were on our way to Portland to catch a plane and leave for vacation. Needless to say we were very frustrated but understand things happen. We found a great salon that accommodated us in Lincoln City. It's also obvious they overbooked themselves. Running 20 min late is one thing, over an hour is another. We scheduled a pedi with them today for 2:00pm and were told they were running late, could we come back at 3. Ummm...no. I have a life and that's why we schedule an appointment. No call to us letting us know before we drive there and waste our time. I'm blown away they run their business this way.
