I said I found her online searching for a doctor who understands low carb and would give me a comprehensive health eval and do extra blood tests that 99% of other doctors don't do. Also, I'm getting older and I suspect I have inflammation. She spoke a bit about what she does. It was what I was looking for. She mentioned her fee and I was ok with the fee. Then she said she only takes referrals from doctors because "most people don't understand what she does". If she just stopped her sentence at "only takes referrals from doctors" I would have thanked her and the conversation would have ended. But I replied that I do understand what she does and that I have a lot of knowledge about low carb and have done it on and off for years and have had success in weight loss and felt better. But I didn't stick with it because of my lifestyle and now in my 50's I have inflammation and I want to work with a doctor like her. She said she disagreed with me about why I didn't stick to low carb as if she has any clue about me, my health and life. She rambled on and kept pushing me for a doctors name even after I said I didn't have one. So thinking maybe it would help, I revealed a minor health issue I had in 2016 and how that doctor (I mentioned that doctor by name) told me to go low carb. She immediately started talking so she had no idea what I did and didn't do for treatment and what results were of tests I had back then in regard to this issue and that I have had no issues with it since. The conversation went on for a while and it was a jumbled mess. She was all over the place with her words. She spoke erratically. There was nothing linear about our conversation. She called me "obese". I never told her my height and weight but she probably took an educated guess thinking from a BMI perspective I am considered "obese". That's true but visually speaking I am overweight but I do not look obese. I'm not even in plus size clothing. It was totally unnecessary for her to call me obese in this conversation. Then she told me to go to any ol' MD, which is exactly what I don't want. I remember her saying the word "bariatric" in her mess of words and then she said that I need to get on pharmaceuticals and HRT. I said I want a doctor who will use nutrition and supplements first and see how it goes. She said it wouldn't be possible for me to do that and be successful with my health. She said this to me with minimal information about me and no lab work. I was shocked how a doctor who presents herself on her website as using food, fasting and supplements for health just wanted to pawn me off on any ol' MD and get on pharmaceuticals and HRT. I have read a ton of books and listened to a lot of podcasts on low carb, keto, carnivore and fasting. I know a lot can be corrected without drugs and HRT. And her website leads you to think she knows this too. Finally she sounded as if she had enough of dealing with me and wrapped up the conversation pushing me away and wishing me well in my health (something like that, it was a crazy whirlwind) and I literally stood there mouth agape at the appalling manner in which this doctor handled this entire conversation. Her site says her protocols "are designed to prevent the onset of chronic diseases and limit the progression of aging." Judging by her very comprehensive website I should have been a shoo-in for this doctor. But no. Something is very "off" about her. Update: Just looked at the facebook page for her practice. She claims she stands with "science" and that fraud Fauci. She actually believes "testing" with that fake PCR test means anything. She's masked up like a c0v-id cult freak in a few photos. She is decked out in these things. LOL She's a conventional medical industrial complex MD who just happens to follow a low carb/keto diet. I dodged a bullet.

She had called first thing because of a painful ear ache and Dr. Schultz squeezed her in. Many of the doctors I've seen in the past would just tell you they were booked and send you off to immediate care. * There was some confusion as to whether her old office sent over my records as requested. I've always assumed that doctors cram before seeing a patient, reminding themselves what their health issues are and personal tidbits. Not Dr. Schultz, she's the real deal, she was fuzzy on a few minor things, but remembered the important stuff! * Northwestern has this system called Relay Health, she explained that I can get info electronically, communicate with the office, and schedule appointments through it. She also went through the security features of the site and told me what steps I could skip to make getting set up quicker. All of that combined with how nice and friendly she is makes Dr. Schultz one fabulous doc. And like others have said the people she's referred me to have always been top notch!

When I went there last week, they checked me and another girl in at the same time, let us into the office at the same time, and our waiting rooms were next to each other. Apparently we both had an 8am appointment with Dr. Schultz, and for some reason she decided to see the other girl first. So it was me, by myself, waiting in the room next door, for about 25min. And I could clearly hear the girl talking with the doctor next door. I mean we all know people can't appear in two places at the same time, so why would you make two appointments at the same time available to patients? It's an inefficient use of my time and it's an inefficient use of the resources at the office.

They are two separate appointments and they won't combine them: one is "to establish care" and the other is an illness visit. Once I see her as a "wellness visit" on August 18, I would be able to "get in quicker" to see her in the future. For now, if I'd like to be seen and monitored by "someone else" who has more availability in their schedule I could do that. Well, I've had a terrible experience with a doctor in Chicago that left me with ongoing medical issues that could have been prevented. So I did my research and selected someone I felt I could trust. I was so very lucky to have that in New Orleans (from where I just moved) and I just wanted that again. I don't really want to see "someone else" that I don't know anything about and waiting 6+ weeks to see a doctor I researched heavily. So while I can't really rate Dr. Boyd herself, this is a warning to those who are looking for a doctor: even though her site says she is accepting new patients, I don't think she really has time for them. Be sure you can wait six weeks before seeing her if you choose her. I get why she's busy -- she's good. But why advertise that you're accepting new patients when you really don't have time for someone who needs you?
