Walking inside, all of the staff are dressed to the nines and people are seated at white tablecloth covered tables. During my time in Santa Rosa, it was probably the most formal dining experience. I ordered chicken and wine sauce served with vegetables and trace. While I was waiting, my cup of water never became empty and butter with bread was brought out to me. Then I had a bowl of soup and a small salad before my meal was served. My favorite part of the meal was the chicken which was so flavorful and unlike anything I cook at home. I left the richness of French cuisine and how do juicy and flavorful the chicken was. The staff was very attentive to me and made sure that I had everything I needed and went above and beyond to provide an exceptional experience for me. Because I was dining by myself in a formal setting I was a little nervous I would feel out of place, but they made me feel welcomed and taken care of.

It just didn't have the same impact I was hoping for. The steak looked beautiful when it arrived, but my medium rare steak was closer to medium well and ended up a bit dry. The dessert I selected was also a little disappointing, though perhaps I should have gone with the crème brûlée instead. I think this experience stood out because they normally hit everything perfectly. When a restaurant consistently sets such a high standard, even a slightly off night is noticeable. That said, I'll definitely continue coming back, especially for their prime rib nights, still my favorite!

We started with the amuse bouche-a beautifully decorated flower bowl with a cherry infused rock cod credo (5/5), light airy. Served with a too delicate na fennel cordial (2/5). Next the summer squash and trumpet mushroom cappelletti-a wonderful al dente ravioli with a delicious filling and sea lettuce beurre blanc (5/5). Served with a warm house bread roll and focaccia (4/5) with house butter (5/5). The halibut mosaic with mustard spinach in a bay laurel gel was delightful- clean fresh, tasty (5/5). The mains were a bit disappointing with no vegetables. The ribeye was well done, medium rare with a madeira sauce (3/5) but not memorable. The lamb was very overcooked- a reconstructed lamb combo just didn't get my vote. The accompanying beans and lamb jus tasted very good (overall 2/5). The final berry granita was a delicious end to the meal, made with house creme fraiche, macerated berries, mint oil and a macerated lemon zest (5/5). At one point the waiter responded that it "wasn't a big egg allergy," which was a confusing and honestly worrying thing to hear when asking about food safety for a child. On top of all that, the affogato wasn't actually an affogato -- it was just frozen vanilla ice cream with frozen espresso, not the classic hot-espresso-poured-over-ice-cream dessert we expected. Food overall was subpar, we also saw 3 of the wait staff take a shot of alcohol with another table while completing ignoring service for our table.
