We bought wine and they let us bring over food from Cafe Aquatica (two doors down in the same building), as long as we removed our food trash. Very cool of them! It was quiet at the wine bar when we were there, but I imagine it's livelier when they have live music going on. Their back patio area connects to Cafe Aquatica's, so we enjoyed the music coming from there. Staff were super friendly and kind, telling us about the smaller production, local wines they offer. I enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc while soaking in some sunshine and river views. Friendly dogs on leash are welcomed! Cheers Friends!

Started with the baked Brie and wild mushrooms and some olives and almonds. It was a delicious take on baked Brie. After that I had roast chicken with fennel kale and polenta. The combination was excellent. For desert we had home make cheese cake with raspberry sauce it was light and fluffy a perfect texture and flavor. This time, they have classes it up and it is an attractive place to hang out. They have top-shelf glassware, interesting and satiating cheese plates, and put on a Blind Wine Tasting that was enlightening, educational, and enjoyable! The owners are very knowledgeable and eager to impart their wisdom in a non-threatening and collegial manner that invites further discussion and questions and made for an equally interesting experience for wine knowledgeable and wine novice alike. A fun time was had by all and we will definitely be back again soon!

(1) It's a wine bar, so it needs to come to a clear understanding of what the right temp is to serve a wine. The light and medium bodied reds were drank were served far too warm. Some basic learning about temps for wine types would be a good start. (2) The owner and her colleague took up 2 of the 3 chairs at the bar, and were drinking. Surely the seats should be left for customers (3) The owner said our server doesn't really know what she's doing because she's new. Didn't feel right to hear that said publicly in front of her - maybe spend time training her vs. drinking at the counter. (4) The menu states prices for a 6 ounce pour, but no pre-measured mini-carafe is used for wines poured directly from the bottle (this is a simple, but profoundly impactful upgrade for the customers of wine bars). A concept is one thing, but better execution and leadership could result in a real gem in downtown Fort Bragg.

Spoiler alert: it had definitely been ordered :( Had anyone at all checked in on me after the salad arrived, I would have inquired about the main I was waiting for and we would have figured this all out relatively quickly - and I probably would have left a more satisfied customer. (I should also note that the salad and the drink were both good, so I was looking forward to the rest.) Instead, I just asked for the check - and I left still hungry and rather disappointed. To add to the weirdness, the server gave me someone else's check at first, with many more items ordered than my drink and salad. I mention it to help characterize the unfortunate misfire vibe. Respect to the servers, I know they're working hard and there are a ton of things that contribute to situations like this - maybe an off night, maybe a gap in training, maybe unexpectedly slammed... maybe something else entirely - but regardless, Yelp is for reviewing one's experience with a business. You get to watch all of the action in the open kitchen from the bar. I loved watching staff shuck fresh oysters and prepare the other tasty dishes here at Trillium. I don't drink, but luckily, Trillium offers a great alcohol menu and a small NA section. The NA Rose I ordered was very tasty. I didn't splurge on any bites, but everything I watched come out of teh kitchen looked fantastic, and the happy hour deals are a steal! The service was great all the way through, and I just had to order a slice of the fresh coconut cake to go. It was creamy and delicious with tons of coconut flavor.
