Ordered a cheeseburger and fries with a side of slaw. Asked to have it well done. Well it was but the center was cold. How the heck does that happen? It was terrible. The fries looked like they scraped the bottom of the deep fry basket. Poor quality. The slaw was horrible. Had a bad chemical taste. Extremely unacceptable for take out. I'll never go there again. I lived in Thailand for six months, and most places' suicide wings are enjoyably hot but less than what I'm used to. When this place says suicide they mean it - my sinuses were clearing so much I was afraid it was ruining my makeup. Not only that, but they had a delicious habanero flavour that is hard to find. Best wings I've had in a long time. Obviously, do not order those wings if you can't handle very hot food. (The nice waitress came out as the place got less busy to check on me, noting that the kitchen staff sometimes dare each other to have a plate of them.) We were in the area and craving some lunch and ordered: * Junior Hot Pastrami with Swiss * Corn Beef Melt Special You order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. The junior hot pastrami was served on a roll; it was a large junior (is that an oxymoron) and the pastrami was hot and tasty. The corn beef was ordered on light rye and came with coleslaw and was even tastier. The corn beef was very tender. I ordered mayo on the side, and expected a pickle would come with the sandwiches, but neither arrived. If pickles aren't included, it would be good to know that I would have ordered one. This is a very good place to go for sandwiches, wings, and everything in-between. I really like their wings. They are big, juicy and flavorful. The pastrami sandwiches are piled high with pastrami, the way they are supposed to be. I like that the fries are not coated and the beer batter rings are crispy and yummy inside. I went here with a group, and it seems like none of us were too impressed. I think it's fine if you really just want a quick sub, and maybe my mistake was ordering something other than roast beef or wings. As a vegetarian, I ordered the only item on their menu that wasn't meat or deep fried, the eggplant parm sub. You can take a look at the pictures that speak themselves, but the eggplant was undercooked, slimy, and feel apart in the sandwich. There was minimal sauce. The bread they use for the subs were decent but a bit stiff like it was a few days too old. The ambience fits more of a fast food joint than a sports bar or any place I would stay at longer than the 10 minutes it takes me to finish my sandwich. The front staff were nice though; they were able to accommodate when the soda fountain wasn't working for us, which was appreciated. read more

We tried Major League Roast Beef a few years ago and we weren't quite sure what to get because the menu is up on the wall and there is soooo many things to pick from. So we just ordered a roast beef sandwich and we weren't really impressed. So yesterday we're looking for someplace that's not too far to drive and is kinda quick. I was looking at my handy dandy Yelp app and noticed a close family member had gave Major League Roast Beef a great review....... so, we pulled up the menu and decided what we wanted to eat beforehand and headed over. We got there and it wasn't too busy, not long to wait to order or yo get our food. We ordered 2 Super Pastrami Platters, a cup of chili and a bottle of water. Our food was delivered to our table when it was ready and the pastrami sandwich and chili were delicious. Onion rings were very good too, but the fries were just fair...I probably would skip them next time. It also came with coleslaw that wasn't anything special. My wife and I took a Sunday drive in our RV. We were driving down RT 20 and were drawn by the lights anc curb appeal of Major League Roast Beef and Wings front facade and large parking (important when trying to park a 27' RV. We were greeted a friendly smile and "welcome to Major League..." The menu had A LOT to choose from. I opted for "The Auburn" roast beef grinder with extra blue cheese crumbles, my wife had "The Classic" The food did not disappoint. The Auburn has a horseradish that is the perfect accompaniment to the blue cheese dressing and crumbles. The fries and onion rings were perfectly crisp and not greasy. The restaurant features a nice selection of bottled beverages and a Coke dispenser where you can make your own mix/blend of soft drink. It was a very enjoyable date night. Definitely recommend this place if you like really good roast beef grinders and are in the area. read more

ohhhh, no no no...I'm sorry, this is NOT a good burrito. I know, I know....I guess that's what I get for ordering a burrito at a roast beef & wings joint! The $8 special chicken burrito on Wednesdays was mostly tomato sauce and rice, good sized and then smothered with some kinda cream sauce but it was the tomato sauce that was so unappealing. It was so heavily seasoned with chilli powder it was almost inedible and downright nauseating I could barely eat half of it. Not to mention, my night of gastric distress! I love Mexican food and cook it at home often and it is easy to overpower using chilli powder. I leave this review as constructive advice to adjust their seasoning for a more palatable burrito experience. Hey, all you have to do is TASTE it yourself to judge it's flavor, folks. read more

They have a surprisingly expansive menu and I wish I had stomach space left for wings and fish & chips. Ambience is casual and decorated with Boston sports memorabilia. Been going there for years and years. I love their fried haddock (cape codder) or the roast beef sandwich on a bun. Went today and ordered the Cape Codder. Not very busy at all, one couple ordering the same time I did and another couple waitng their turn. Got my drink and sat down. About ten minutes went by and I saw that the couple that ordered when I did got their food served. Several more minutes passed and I noticed that the couple that ordered after me got their food. I waited another 5 minutes then went to the counter to see what happened to my order. The girl at the counter told me that since I ordered fried fish that it would take longer to cook. Now I've been around for a while and I know that's not true but rather than argue the point I decided that I had done my job about notifying someone about the delay so I went back to my seat. I sat down just in time for the counter girl who was now right behind me to deliver my fried haddock sandwich. I thought "Wow, what timing, my fish must have just come out of the fryer, it should be nice and hot" Wrong! The fish was on the cool side of barely warm. Now, how could that be? If it was just made the fish would have been hot, but it was not. So I brought it back to the counter and told the counter person that my fish was barely warm. She asked if I wanted another one, so I said ok. Within 5 minutes I got my second try haddock sandwich which was hot . Unfortunately the fish was oily, greasey like nothing I've ever had there. So I gave up after a few bites and tossed the remainder of it in the trash where it belonged. Usually this place is great, but not today. The sandwich wasn't that great (although it wasn't bad either) but it was a just a regular size; I was anticipating a half pound of roast beef for the price I paid! I almost brought it back given the absurd price they charged. Delis in downtown Boston's financial district are cheaper. The one star is for "apparently" inaccurate prices on the signs above their counter. When I confronted them that they charged me more than what the sign says, they said they raised their prices but didn't update the signs yet. Is that illegal? So much to choose from, that if you can't find what you want, you're not hungry! Wife had the fried whole belly clams. She said they tasted good, cooked ok, and not one bit of grit. I ordered the philly bomb, which had jalapeño slices in it. We both ordered the platter and hutch included steak fries and onion rings. The bread on the bomb was so fresh that it took little effort to squeeze it. The waitress confirmed that they get their bread fresh baked every morning. Only complaint was that either the roll was too big or there wasn't enough stuffing. I choose the latter, because it could of used a little more onions, and peppers in it. I had a bacon burger, and my son had chicken tenders. I asked for the burger to be well done since I'm pregnant and can't consume raw meat, it came as medium well. I ate around the pink parts, no big deal. My sons chicken tenders however. He took a bite and spit it out instantly. I asked him what's wrong and he said they were gross so I took a bite. They were so over cooked that they tasted like rubber. I would give this place another chance because of the service and the food my company received looked great. read more
