I ordered the Ox Tail Cheesesteak and was very satisfied with it. Service was good despite them being busy. Price was a lot higher than I was expecting, but overall a good experience. I definitely think they could remodel the place a bit. The floors were pretty beat up and the downstairs eating area was a mess. I probably won't return but definitely recommend trying at least once if you're in the mood for a good cheesesteak!

I was crsving a phillysteak cheese sandwhich and I came across this spot on yelp. I placed my order online and scheduled it for delivery to my house. I ordered the surf and turf phillysteak cheese sandwhich with french fries. The surf and turf comes with a few pieces of shirmp over top of the phillysteak meat. It also had their special melted cheese over it. The fries were really seasons and good! My food was freshly prepped and neatly bagged. Usually when I order delivery my stuff is thrown around and not neatly packaged so I was glad that it was not like that. Would love to visit the spot in person one day!

Nice little hidden spot in downtown Norfolk recommended by a friend. It's very small but clean. The person taking the order didn't want to be at work that day. She wasn't rude but customer service could have been better. I ordered the oxtail egg roll, small chicken Philly and mango lemonade. Eggrolls were great!! Philly was just ok and lemonade was too sweet to drink. That's probably just a preference thing. I'll go back to get egg rolls

The cheesesteak was nice and cheesy! The meat was tender. I thoroughly enjoyed this classic. The bread wasn't too think nor too thick. The brothy flavor made this one to desire. The fries are the soggy long cut. I'm personally not the biggest fan of this style. The service was cool. You use the kiosk tablet to order and pay. I do have to say the ambiance is lack luster. It has a cool graffiti vibe in the front, but the downstairs is pretty empty. I feel like the decor is not complete. They have such a cool spot, I hope they are able to continue decorating it. Overall, a super good cheesesteak to satisfy that craving.

The oxtail cheesesteak is one of my go to's when I come to Major Phillies. I also like the jerk salmon philly and the egg rolls are great too! One of the best restaurants in the 757 area hands down and the customer service is top tier as well!

Checked this place out on a Saturday around 1. We got there just in time to put our order in the kiosk immediately. There are three kiosk setup to order and one was down at the time. By the time we were done there were at least 20 people that came in to order. Establishment is very small and has not seating or waiting area. There was one employee bagging orders and taking cash from Customers. In my opinion they can use another person to help with crowd control as it gets very packed quickly. You couldn't tell who was waiting from who still needed to order. Food took about 15-20 mins. Ordered the Philly cheesesteak with peppers, onions, cheese and mayo with Parmesan fries. Daughter ordered something similar. Food was fresh and good however our meal was about $40. I do want to try their oxtail cheesesteak so I'll return but definitely not in the weekends and definitely will prepare to take home as I wasn't expecting to eat in my car on this visit.

Sigh! I wanted to like this place so much. I wanted it to be better than Iggles so I can start going here instead. Unfortunately it was just ok for me. I spent over $100 on 4 subs, 1fry, 1 loaded fry, and a lemonade. I don't mind spending a lot of money when the food is amazing, but not for food that is "ok". I was excited for the drink choices, flavored teas, lemonades and what not. Also, the cheese whiz, and the seafood option on the cheesesteaks. Being from Baltimore, I was super excited to have an authentic cheesesteak spot with the shrimp option. However I was sadly disappointed by under seasoned meat, under seasoned shrimp. The fries had more seasoning than the shrimp and the meat itself. I don't think I'll be back for the food, maybe the drinks.

    Hmmm...where did the food go???

Back in January, Yelp Elites were given the chance to check out Major Phillie for a complimentary meal consisting of a 6-inch cheesesteak, shrimp tacos (which were added to the menu permanently) and garlic parmesean fries. Needless to say, the meal was delicious. This time around, my girlfriend and I decided to head back for a 2nd round of cheesesteaks. Could this be a successful return or a Debbie Downer waiting to happen? Ordering was simple once we walked in. Go to the counter and use the touchscreen to select your meal. Both of us selected a 6-inch surf and turf sandwich (mine included ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, Provolone cheese and sweet peppers), Garlic Parmesean fries and bottled water. Like before, we dined in. And just like the last time, a very delicious time. The beef and shrimp were both seasoned and cooked to perfection and the fries were perfect. Within 15 minutes, my meal was......take a look at the picture and you'll see for yourself :) Once again, Chef Allen and his staff delivered. The drive from Newport News was truly worth it.

When we heard there was a Philly Cheesesteak place that had cheese whiz, we had to take a drive. Parking was not to bad when we arrived. We opted for the paid lot just around the corner. When we arrived we ordered on computers. Kinda like you do at Wawa.. another Pennsylvania staple. Ordering was simple. Once we ordered we found seating downstairs which was great for my family of four. It was a tad bit cold down there but quiet. The walls all over had names of areas in Philly. It was great! They even had sports teams. The staff was great. They were always checking up on us and brought us anything we needed. I appreciate that extra mile. M The food arrived pretty quick. My favorite was the cheesesteak egg rolls! Nice crunch and good flavor. I loved the bread with out cheesesteaks. The whiz was not the best for me. Not sure why. It was slightly cold and had a lump or two. Other than that my steak was great. Next time I'm going to get American cheese and extra onions. My husband raved about his Jerk Chicken steak! He devoured it. In all we had a great time and enjoyed the food. I loved all the small Philly details around, especially the Herrs chips... another Pennsylvania staple!

Yeah, it's a no for me waited over 45 minutes for the order to be wrong. The customer service sucked definitely will not be returning! Food wasn't good at all I've had better. I ordered a chicken deluxe for reference

I ordered Cajun Salmon cheesesteak.. and it had no cheese or mayo no condiments at all just dry bread and salmon with peppers. I didn't think I needed to add or ask for cheese on something with cheese in the name. The stormy blue lemonade tastes like blue Hawaiian Punch and the fries were terribly salty. The only thing decent was the jerk chicken egg roll and even that was a 7/10. For a proper seafood cheesesteak I recommend Our people's soul food seafood unfortunately they were closed today!

Came here for the first time on my lunch break with a co-worker. The staff was friendly and the Philly I had was pretty good along with the fries. Next time we came to visit we noticed some changes. The menu options and prices were different (which we liked) but also, we noticed a change in the Philly cheesesteak and fries. The meat now is more of a ground beef consistency which I personally am not a fan of and the fries also changed to be a bit thinner (which is fine but just unexpected). Not really a fan of my Philly my second time around but the staff is still incredibly nice and if you like your philly's that style I would recommend just not my personal preference.

    I devoured that!!!

Me and my buddy are on a cheesesteak kick to find the best in the area. How did this fare? VERY delicious. The steak and seasoning were SPOT on awesome. The level of cheese and steak were just perfection. I had flashbacks of eating this cheesesteak and made the mistake of going somewhere close by for another... talk about a huge letdown. Had some fries as well on top of that and yep... awesome seasoning for them as well. When it comes to Cheesesteaks - this place is a solid 4.8... why the .2 less? The only thing that could make this perfect would be the bread. if they toasted it or changed it to make it that super crusty bread, these would probably be the best without even thinking. I got a watermelon crush which I had never seen before and enjoyed it. I have mixed feelings about the cheesesteak. It didn't feel like enough cheese and the bread was pretty soggy. I think I will come back to try their pizza or non-cheesesteak sandwiches/wraps but we'll see!

So we pulled up yelp and found fat Phillies. This is what I would call a classic Bodega/hood joint (They have all the flavors of Rap Snacks) that does a great job of serving up a good variety of sandwiches and sides at an affordable price. Now this establishment is housed inside of a convenient store in a strip mall that also has a Chinese food place and a couple of other establishments. This is a typical convenient store with groceries drinks and a couple of casino machines at the other end of the building. We pulled up to the counter as they were shutting down, so unfortunately, the wings weren't available. So we decided to go with the standard Philly cheesesteak, and fries. Sandwiches were ready in about 10 minutes and they were cooked to order. Both of us were very satisfied with the sandwiches. Mine did have a little bit of grissel and tougher meat, but not necessarily something I didn't expect given the price. Overall, this is definitely a place I would likely stop through every now and then just to grab some sandwiches and other items that I can't find in a Whole Foods.

I chose the Becca Burger, without mushrooms and their Steak Diablo Fries. They make everything fresh, to order with fresh ingredients. Since they make it all fresh, you might wait a few minutes longer than the typical burger joint, but that's fine considering the amazing eats you're about to enjoy. My burger came out looking beautiful and it was definitely sitting tall! The flavor was excellent! Meat was great too!! I definitely liked having their chipotle mayo on it!! After attending Sunday Mass on 1/12/25, I decided to try out King's Philly. Cheesesteaks are…read moredifficult to successfully replicate, despite the fact I generally enjoy the ones I've tried locally. In that respect, if you're looking for authenticity, King's Philly won't make that list. When I arrived, King's was empty. There was one employee at the counter, and I quickly noticed two kiosks against the wall to the right of the entrance. I made my way to the kiosks and noted that the employee didn't say a word when I walked in. I like kiosks mainly because I can see, right in front of me, the entire menu. I noticed an oxtail philly, a bulgogi philly, and even a salmon philly on the menu. With this being my first time here, I decided on a regular old philly - in this case, a Classic Philly Beef. I ordered that and made it a combo (French fries, can of soda). After I ordered and paid, I sat down at a table and waited for my food. As I waited, I noticed that King's Philly is connected to Sushi King. Sushi King has been consolidating their space the past few years as they converted the other end of their suite into a Domoishi, and now this space for King's. By the way, King's interior is bright, colorful, clean, and organized. I waited maybe 10 minutes - the girl at the counter informed me my order was ready, and I picked it up at the counter. There are no fountain drinks available (a drawback, imo), but there is a fridge at the counter where you can choose your soda (cans). There is a second fridge next to it which has bottled drinks. The Classic Philly Beef was okay. The beef wasn't sliced ribeye and honestly tasted like frozen beef that was defrosted and then heated up on the flat top. The philly wasn't rotten nor was it bad, but it wasn't outstanding. And for $14-$15 for an 8" sub, I feel it needs to be outstanding. Also, the bun/roll they used for their philly didn't hold up. It almost immediately fell apart and its contents (beef, grilled onions, grilled peppers, provolone) fell all over the place. I ate a good amount of my philly with a fork, so I wasn't able to enjoy it as a sandwich. The fries were decent - well cooked, so they were crispy. King's Philly is an okay cheesesteak option, but it's not a first-choice one. I was curious since they're new, but when/if I'm in the mood for a cheesesteak, I unfortunately will opt for another place. I will return, though, to try the oxtail and the salmon phillies. Maybe those will help me to become a regular, but the classic philly beef will take a backseat. Thank you, King's Philly! JV

The one young guy running the grille was friendly and recommended the cheesesteaks which I gotta say as a lover was suspicious. However I was willing to risk it on the off chance this food stand in a parking lot could actually deliver a fabulous steak. The price was affordable for a footling around $10 and added a bottle water and tip came to $13+ The cheesesteak was completed in around 8 minutes wrapped up and in a bag with napkins. I popped it open in the car and was amazed at the pure size and amount of meat. The smell was glorious with steam waffling above. The bread was fresh and authentic to Philly. The only thing left was a bite and it did not disappoint one bit, just wowzers! It was good enough to return prior to writing a review. I had today off, and while I was running errands I figured I'd catch a bit from one of the spots on…read moremy list that I wanted to try. This one was the closest, so I parked and went up to order a sandwich. The place is cute inside, bunch of Eagles memorabilia lining the walls, the big open counter you can see the kitchen through. Good vibes, I liked it. I had looked on their menu before to see what sounded best, and I decided on a mushroom and cheese along with a regular hot dog. The man at the counter explained my topping options. So, I got onions, ketchup, and mustard for the dog, and sweet peppers, mayo, mustard, and grilled onions for my sandwich. He wrote it down, and said I'd pay once my order was called. It was fairly quick despite seeming busy with the start of a lunch rush. I paid, and went to my car for a quick bite before wrapping and eating the rest at home. First impressions, it was hot but not burn your tongue hot. The sandwich was also huge, and the hotdog a decent size. The hot dog was split in half and grilled on both sides, which was a nice texture enhancer. Could've used a little more condiments, I'm a condiment person, but it was a solid dog. Buns were toasted a little and they flattened out a bit, which was nice. It was a good dog to bun ratio. As for the sandwich, I was super excited for it. The bread is nice, spongey, not crisp. The meat was fine, good quality and chopped nice. It was cooked, a little dry but greasy. Cheese was great. Loved the melt and flavor. Sweet peppers were almost like pickles, which added a good balance. Mushrooms were sliced so thin it blended really nicely into the meat. Onions added more savory to the meat. The mayo and mustard made it a bit more moist. Overall, it was a really great, greasy, messy lunch. They did give me a bunch of napkins which helped a lot. I can see myself coming back again, and most definitely will. If you haven't tried this place I would recommend putting it on your list, it's a great spot!

Make sure to order a whole sub, the two halves will definitely be worth while. Unfortunately I…read moreordered the half which was on a much smaller piece of bread that didn't even compare to 1/2 of a full sub. Food was good but portion inconsistency @ $9.99 1/2 Sub might be a deal breaker for customers.

The whole trip to deliver the Dash order, I made up my mind that after the end of my shift, I would return to find out if the food was as tasty as it smelled...they did not disappoint!!! I ordered the Philly Steak and Cheese , it was seasoned the way I like , with the right amount of onion and green pepper, the bun was grilled to perfection. A little more steak on that sandwich would have earned them 5 stars. My Mozzarella sticks with Maranara was good and just enough to satisfy. I WILL be back, stop by and let Super Extreme dazzle your tastebuds!!!!

Do NOT waste your money. We are in town for the night. My birthday eve, for a track meet. Our…read morefamily planned on going to dinner to celebrate my birthday, but we are pretty tired so we decided to order takeout. We found this place on door dash. The ordering was overly confusing on DoorDash, charging for each and every topping and condiments. So my husband suggested I call the order in and he'd pick it up. Upon answering the phone the restaurant team member informed me they were pretty backed up and it would be approximately 45 minutes until pickup time. As I began to order something told me to just hang up the phone, I now wish I would have. We ordered a half buffalo chicken hero, for me, a whole super cheesesteak hero for my husband and a personal pepperoni pizza for our son + 2 orders of fries. The chicken on my hero was literally microwave chicken nuggets! I had two small nuggets cut into little pieces on my sandwich. Please see the pictures. My hero was mainly bread and lettuce. It was also mushy and looked nothing like the buffalo chicken sandwich advertised. My husband's Philly was soggy and not appetizing. It's very unsettling to receive food that looks like it may cause you to feel sick. Our son's pizza looked like a frozen pizza. Cheese similar to what kids get on their school grade pizzas. Yuck. Over priced microwave food is exactly what we received. This place is a rip off and should update their menu advertisement photos asap. Fraudulent marketing is not ok. We spent $50 on two subs and a small pizza. We should have just made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and called it a night. At least that way we would know our stomachs would be ok in a few hours. I decided to trash my meal because I found hair in my sandwich. The fries were old and cold, you could tell they had been sitting for some time, as the subs were still hot. Just totally ridiculous, super extreme heros, they were NOT. My husband did say the restaurant location was cool. Seemed clean. Was not busy like the lady on the phone said it was.

One thing to note is that this place is technically "The Cheesesteak Shop"... you'll see it on the menu when you come in. Rick's is a staple of a name in the Hampton Roads area. Rick's is a name that is synonymous with great Cheese Steak and if you visit them all you'll notice differences in the recipes/flavor amongst them. We were at the one in Williamsburg one week, then went directly to this one the next week later. This one, the meat is slightly more seasoned with pepper or something with a mild heat. Nothing crazy, just noticeable. The bread was a little wet and I really would've preferred it being more toasted. Overall, it was an 'ok' cheese steak. I was going to rate this a 3 but overall I give it a 4 b/c the service was friendly enough to warrant the boost.
