I've taken out from Craft probably close to a dozen times. I have yet to dine in. Overall I have been satisfied with the operation after being a customer for over five years. Staff usually has my order prepared upon arrival leaving my house after putting in the order, so roughly 15 minutes. The staff has also has been friendly and remembers my order. I also want to mention they have a good bourbon selection. My order of a craft house build burger with waffle fries. They use quality Greg Norman Waygu beef. My only complaint is the fries do not heat up well and have been soggy. I haven't been back for a while, but a long overdue review for a strong business. Recommend!

Currently this is my favorite burger in Virginia Beach. If you want a quality burger, with the option size that a burger should be, Craft is your place. Perfectly cooked, seasoned patties, with all sorts of toppings/fixins whatever you might call them lol. My appetite is not around the world (literally) and I left there satisfied and that's saying something. Ambience is casual sports bar type. Adequate parking and it don't break the bank. The service was attentive and thorough and all of our food came out hot and ready to go. All in all it's one of the best burgers in this area, you can't go wrong with any one off the menu!

Don't even need to rate this place, everyone knows it's great. The burgers are great I build my own. The meat is good quality and you can taste it. The chili is phenomenal, recently I've been getting the wagyu chili hot dog and it's amazing. Some of the best sweet potato fries I've ever had, Mac and cheese is good too. I've got only great things to say, and I've been here more times than I can count.

We love Craft Burger Bar in Virginia Beach, and the wait staff is always so nice and attentive! I love the chicken sandwich and broccoli, and my favorite is the nachos - so yummy and so huge!! We will be back again and again and again :)

Came back for a semi-late dinner and was not disappointed! Ordered the nachos (warned that they were HUGE) and gleefully accepted the challenge! Loved the fresh avocados & plentiful jalapeño slices. Then topped off with a Lager and crispy Buffalo chicken wrap + tater tots. Always a great place for a meal!

Absolutely amazing service and the food was delicious. I had the nacho burger, side of broccoli, and a side of Mac and cheese. This burger was the best I've had in Virginia Beach so far and the service was incredible and attentive.

Located in a strip-mall with plenty of parking, right off main road for easy access. Greeted & seated right away by a friendly Hostess. Nice & clean dining area with a bar if dining alone or just wanting to catch a game on one of several TV's located throughout. Our waitress was friendly, patient and helped with the decision process. She brought our drinks quickly and they never went empty as she checked on us regularly. We went with a Wagyu Burger, just a basic classic style (nothing fancy) with cheese and lettuce, tomato, pickles - Condiments are on the table. We planned to share burger and an order of Wagyu Chilli Nachos. In hind-site, we would have been good with just one, but at same-time would have missed out My wife likes her burger well-done, I don't, but when sharing I compromise. Despite being well-done enough to keep the wife happy, it was the juiciest & most flavorful burger that I have had, Top 3 for sure. It was damn good !!! It came with waffle fries which were good, but mostly skipped as the burger along with the most amazing NACHOS that I have had since San Francisco. I cannot say enough to fully describe the things that I loved about the Wagyu Nachoes. Each layer was as delicious as the first, no plain nacho chips anywhere as the toppings were not just on top, but on each layer. Topped with 1/2 an Avocado and jalapeño peppers, cheese and more cheese, WAGYU CHILLI, each bite was just WOW. My biggest complaint is that we live over 3 hours away. I will be singing the praise of these Nachos for years to come. Please do not change a thing !!!

My daughter and I went to Craft Burger bar on a Friday evening after we were snowed in for a day. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated fairly quickly. The atmosphere is your typical Pub style restaurant. They could use a little upgrading the booth that we were seated at had tape on the seat so it is probably time to replace them. What did we order: We ordered the Fried Pimento Cheese & pickles for appetizer, for our main course we had the Black & Blue Wagyu and the Tijuana Burger. The first thing I will say about the food is that you have to try the fried pickles. The fried pickles were absolutely delicious, they were cut with the perfect amount of thickness and they were not salty, they were perfect. I do wish there was an option to just get fried pickles without the pimento cheese. The Pimento cheese was ok but to be honest we both only ate 1 and that was enough for us. I did make substitutions on the Black & Blue burger. I swapped the Sauteed onions for the fried onion straw and instead of the blue cheese sauce I had BBQ Sauce. The waitress originally recommended getting the blue cheese sauce on the side because she said it would be very blue cheese forward between the sauce and the added blue cheese crumbles. My burger was very flavorful and juicy. My daughter did not make any changes to her Tijuana which was topped with avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion and a green chili aioli. We both ordered 2 cocktails that were also very tasty and well-balance. I would definitely be going back to craft burger bar especially when I have a craving for fried pickles

Waygu Nachos

Didn't have a burger, which is what we had originally came for. However, we decided to get nachos to start- the waiters warned us they were big. But these were HUMUNGOUS and we couldn't stomach anything else. Super delicious and filling. Plus the iced tea is bomb! I will certainly be back to try a burger. Our waitress was awesome too :)

She Crab Soup and the Craft chili Cheese Dog w/onion rings. Delicious

Food and service are the best. Everything they have is great. Best Nachos in the 757 also.

Aristocrat Burger (added tomato, red onions)

It was our first time here, I tried to call ahead but there's no call ahead seating. When we got here there was a bit of a wait for a table, but zero wait at the bar, so we sat there. My husband wanted an IPA and the bartender let him taste 2 different IPAs--one was gluten free (which he said wasn't bad). We got the fried cheese curds as an appetizer and they were hot and fresh and the sauce had the right amount of spice. I had the Aristocrat (with some of the complimentary extras) and he had the Nacho. The waffle fries were fantastic. The burgers are a bit messy to eat but very delicious. The vibe was nice. TVs, music--I'd go again.

This was a great lunch stop while we were in Virginia Beach for a tournament. A little off the beaten path, but totally worth it to avoid crowds and beach front prices! Our meals were delicious. The beef is high quality and the portions are large! I had a lettuce wrap jalapeño burger (sauce on the side - it was HOT!) with sweet potato fries, husband had a bacon burger with regular fries and son had a plain chicken sandwich topped with Mac and cheese. The one downside was my son's chicken sandwich lacked any flavor, so I assume they rely on toppings for the taste. Great attentive service, Great drink specials during the week, we would definitely return!

First walking into Craft Burger Bar, I loved the atmosphere and vibe. The hostess was friendly, greeted us with a smile and let us know what the specials were before our waitress came after we were seated. I was craving a burger and man! The options!! I ended up trying the Mac Daddy because I LOVE Mac & Cheese. And I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the burger as it comes just to get the full experience. After trying it, I would like it better without the buffalo sauce personally but it was still very tasty. The waffle fries were delicious as well. Overall, great dish and I'd be back again.

I ordered the Sunrise Burger, subbing hot honey for the mayo and oh-mah-gawsh that was an excellent decision. (The burgers are a little on the smaller side, but I found it to be the perfect size.) I told my husband that the onion rings were some of the best I've ever had. Kyle was our server, and he was incredible--attentive despite being a little overwhelmed. It's darker on the inside because of the wood paneling, but it works for the saloon-adjacent vibe it's going for. Highly recommend!

So when one of the Homies told me about this place I was all in because - burgers - what's not to love. Barrel 17 did not disappoint; when i got there i realized quickly i was the last to know because it was busy. We had about a 10 minute wait to be seated but that was cut short by option to sit at the bar. The bartender was working like she had six arms. It was non stop; attentive, taking orders, making drinks, checking back with others, she was truly impressive. The places was jumping; it was busy, casual and didn't slow down from the time we arrived until we left. Parking is challenging, there's a small lot beside the restaurant and a small lot behind it so if you can car pool you'll benefit yourselves. Now on to the star of the show - the food! The only knock I had was portion size. In a big guy with an even bigger appetite and when i left there i could've eaten my whole meal over again lol. But that's also because it was delicious. I got the mac n cheese starter, the Beast Burger, tater tots , and the biggest slice of chocolate cake I've ever had. Literally the biggest slice of cake ever- twice the size of my burger. Everything was delicious, from start to finish and if i were a person that had a normal appetite i would've left full like my friends did. Will definitely be back!

Stopped by for a burger and a beer to drown in my solitude. Had great service. Prompt, attentive and genuine. Only downside was some pretentious guy named Jeff kept whining about the hostess and the service being "special needs" because he couldn't get his group prompt service under 15 minutes on a special holiday. If it wasn't for some derogative guy whining off the bell about how the service wasn't up to par every couple minutes I'd have enjoyed what would've been quite a depressing day for me. Other than that, burger was damn heavenly. Beer was cold and good. Service was grand. Some people just ruin it for others. Great spot, great burger, good beer and good folks. B.W.

The last time I set foot inside their Pleasure House Rd location was at least 10 years ago. I celebrated my birthday there as my friends were kind enough to take me out. It was a Sunday morning and I sought out a place that offered brunch. I noticed 1608 was open and decided to head over, especially since I haven't visited them in ages. When I walked in, I noticed their dining room is dimly lit - much darker than I remember. I was greeted immediately by a kind hostess and she proceeded to sit me at a nearby table and provided me with menus (one food, one alcohol). I took my time looking over the food menu, and in the meantime I ordered a pint of Center of the Universe's Bald Irishman and a bottle of Boylan's Black Cherry soda (they do not have a soda fountain). What made this visit memorable was that 1608's bartender, Hunter, was an old acquaintance from back in my restaurant days. He spotted me and came over to say hi. After my meal, I continued to catch up with him at the bar. His presence made a pleasant experience even more fantastic. I thought I was hungry, so I ordered 2 dishes - Smoked Ham Fried Rice and the Breakfast Burrito. According to Hunter, every item is made fresh in house. After biting into each, you could tell that's true. Both the fried rice and burrito were delicious and boasted lots of flavor. Although I prefer my fried rice a bit simpler (if you give me just garlic fried rice, I am SET), 1608's fried rice (veggies, garlic, soy, basmati rice, 2 runny eggs, smoked ham) had a lot going on, which made for a flavorful dish. I liked the rice and the burrito (Korean style fried chicken breast, scrambled eggs, cilantro lime, cheddar, pico de gallo) a lot. I didn't finish either because it was a lot of food (I really thought I was hungry, haha). But these leftovers turned into a fantastic dinner later on. 1608 looked clean and organized, although I thought it was a little too dark inside, at least for brunch service. That's not a dealbreaker since everything from the food to the service was as excellent as I remember. I hope to return soon with my mom. Regardless, I'll find my way back eventually. Thank you, 1608 Crafthouse! And great seeing you again, Hunter! JV

Our first table ended up being under a spotlight that was directly in our line of sight (it looked like it was meant for the specials board), so we asked to move. Staff was accommodating and got us to a better table quickly. The space itself is really nice. It was clean, rustically decorated, and the live plants in liquor bottles on the tables are a nice touch. Our server was friendly from the start and took drink orders right away. My daughter and I had sodas, and my husband ordered the Southern Charm Old Fashioned off the specials menu, which he enjoyed. The menu is on the smaller side, which we actually like. One unique detail was the option to "buy a round for the kitchen," which we thought was a really nice touch and decided to add it when we ordered our appetizer. We started with the fried deviled eggs after a friend recommended them. They were creative with three styles (classic with pickle, togarashi ginger, and crispy prosciutto), but overall a bit on the dry side and not as flavorful as we expected. We asked for Dijon, but they don't have it. Our server suggested and brought out the Baja dipping sauce instead, which did pair well and kind of improved them. My husband had the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. He said the fish was flaky and well cooked. I ordered the Union grilled cheese, which unfortunately seemed like it had been sitting a bit before being served, as the bottom was soggy. It was just okay overall and not particularly memorable for the price. The sweet potato fries on the side were the clear standout. They were crispy, the perfect balance of sweet and salty and honestly the best part of the dish. Our daughter had the kid's smashburger. It was exactly that. Service throughout the meal was good. She was friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and there when needed. The main disappointment came at the end. When our meals were served, the server actually offered sauces at the table (ketchup, mayo, ranch, etc.), and specifically suggested items like the baja sauce for the eggs and ranch to us. Because of that, we were surprised to see several charges for the sauces on the bill, especially since they were offered and recommended at the table with no mention of any additional cost. We were also charged a credit card fee, with no signage anywhere (entrance, hostess stand, or menu) indicating that paying with a card would include an extra charge. It just left an unnecessary sour note on an otherwise solid, casual meal. Nothing was bad, and nothing really stood out as exceptional, but the lack of transparency around those final charges really impacted the overall experience for us.

One piece of advice: arrive a little before Happy Hour begins at 3:00 p.m. If you wait until then, you'll likely find yourself several people deep in line. Don't let that discourage you. Embrace it, because once you're seated you'll quickly discover that the wait was well worth it. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices--especially during Happy Hour--are outstanding. The Atlantic specializes in oysters, and their Happy Hour runs daily from 3:00-6:00 p.m., including weekends. We began with a Chopped Caesar Salad ($9). Every ingredient was crisp, fresh, and flavorful--a simple dish executed exactly as it should be. Next came the oysters: a dozen Rockefeller and a dozen Pacific. The Rockefeller oysters were everything you would expect from this classic preparation--rich, savory, and baked beautifully. The Pacific oysters, however, completely stole the show. Each oyster was topped with a delicious combination of chorizo sausage, pepper jack cheese, and seasonings before being baked to perfection. They were bold, flavorful, and easily my favorite item of the afternoon. I also ordered the Double Stack Cheeseburger ($7), and what a terrific value. The burger arrived piping hot, loaded with melted cheese, and accompanied by a generous serving of crispy fries. It's hard to imagine finding a better burger at that price anywhere along the Oceanfront. My wife ordered the pork, shrimp, and kimchi dumplings served with a chili crunch and ponzu sauce that tied the entire dish together beautifully. She jokingly threatened to drink the remaining sauce after finishing the dumplings (she didn't), but she did convince me to dip one of my fries into it. She was absolutely right--it was fantastic. In fact, I now regret turning down the dumpling she generously offered me. Part of the fun of dining here is watching Shuck-Master Slim work. He's not only remarkably skilled but entertaining as well, adding a little personality to an already enjoyable experience. From the fresh seafood to the outstanding value and friendly atmosphere, this was another memorable visit to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. If you haven't been to The Atlantic on Pacific, I highly recommend adding it to your list. I've been told they aren't supposed to let you walk out with to go orders on their taco Tuesday, but if I pay for and eat some of my food who is this manager to say I can't leave with a to go box(which in most cases I have), but I digress. I tried to do it today and the manager comes to me with a nasty attitude over me not tipping enough for his standards telling me I can't take my food to go because he doesn't feel I tip enough and "what's a 5 dollar tip gonna do for him". Keep in mind I told him I'm not ordering food for just myself I sometimes take lunch orders from work which is never more than 5 to go small tacos. I work for a reputable company that sees a lot of tourism and I often recommended this spot to our guests but due to this situation I will be advising people to avoid this place if you're not just going to drink at the end of the night on The Weekend. In the specific event the owner of the restaurant was there and confirmed they weren't supposed to be doing to go tacos which I can respect. I believe the bridge wasn't open for whatever reason on Sunday nevertheless we were able to sit on the patio. Our lovely waitress Katie was super as well. Haley and Katie kind of look like twins so I was like okay this experience will probably hit the same as Friday and needless to say it did. Katie was super awesome as well ...super attentive super patient I mean New River these two ladies are keepers and Katie shared with us that she's getting married soon so congratulations again pretty girl. Even though brunch was taking place you are still able to order pizza from the lunch / dinner menu. We ordered the Godfather again of course we ordered the chicken Parmesan pizza I forgot the name of that and the Hawaiian pizza all of them were good but my favorite on this go around was the chicken Parmesan pizza. I ate all of it even though we did share slices amongst us all the Godfather is definitely a close second. We tried the Mimosa flight it was okay I'm not a mimosa girl but the other two in my party they enjoyed it. I did have a glass of the Pinot Noir wine I'm definitely a red wine girl so the wine was right on time...right up my alley. We decided we love it here and when my bestie is visiting from Florida he already said this place is a must dine. And whoever was responsible for Designing the bathroom decor for the ladies very nice very nice. Have fun and enjoy life. :)
