I rarely write the reviews but my experience with this place was so bad that I wanted to warn other people. I was their client for about 10 years (probably only because I never had to file a claim and to learn what this place was really about) and never missed any single payment. At some point, due to constantly increasing cost, I decided to switch my insurance and asked Major Point Ins to cancel my plan (to be clear not even to cancel but just not to renew for another year). I completed and provided them with all the required paperwork two weeks in advance. Later I received a call from the agent I worked with, Inna, telling me that there is nothing to do at this point and in order to cancel, we only need to remove my automated account withdrawal payments (what?). Even not being an insurance specialist, I found that strange and despite my multiple calls with Inna, she insisted that that was the way to cancel. A few months later, I received a letter from the collection agency notifying me that my Nationwide account was placed to collections because, sure enough, they never received a proper cancellation notice. I could not contact Nationwide directly because once you buy your plan through an agency, Nationwide would auto-prompt you to contact your agent instead. It took me about 6 months of endless phone calls between the collectors and Major point ins to correct this error. Inna returned some of my emails, but mostly was "on vacation" or "sick". Once I called the agency and had an unpleasant conversation with their CEO Mike Patyuk who was EXTREMELY rude. I tried to explain him my situation and the first question he asked was "Are you our client NOW? Then why are you calling??" Well, maybe because your agency messed up so much that it has been a few months since I am not a client anymore but still trying to fix your agents' mistakes due to their negligence, unprofessionalism and lack of knowledge in the field. I also learnt from Mike Patyuk the following: "Your case is important to YOU, but not to US", "I am gonna tell you what to do, not the other way around". He eventually hung up. I don't think it's an appropriate way for an owner to treat the client of 10 years who is trying to fix YOUR agency errors, or not even any person at all. I honestly should have reported them to California Department of Insurance, but since I have not, I want to at least warn people to be VERY careful about this place. They will be very happy to collect your commission, but good luck if you decide to cancel with them since they apparently have not learnt yet how to properly process clients' cancellation requests, or at least how to be polite.
