At first, I was impressed to see such positive ratings about this company. But when you look a bit closer, you'll see that 25 of their 31 reviewers have only done 20 Yelp reviews or less - this is a classic tell-tale sign that this company is just getting their family and friends to write positive reviews (and perhaps even paying a service to write fake reviews too). Look around on Yelp, and you'll see what I mean - the truly reputable companies have positive ratings by people who have done dozens, sometimes even HUNDREDS, of reviews. So take this company's Yelp "reviews" with a grain of salt. Also, you might want to consider my own personal experience... I first emailed them to ask about rates (for condo, auto, earthquake, and flood) on April 7. Five days later, when they hadn't replied, I tried again, and finally, this time, I received a reply from Ariel Rashimi. A few days later, when I thought all was going well, she provided me with rates for condo and auto, but didn't send me anything for earthquake or flood. So, I asked again. Never heard back, and it's been over a month now. If you like being ignored, this is definitely the company for you. read more

I've been getting my insurance through them for about 4 years now and they're great! I'm extremely high maintanence... always changing my policy, needing new cards, questions, etc and everyone always helps me with a smile! ESPECIALLY YASMIN! She always knows the answer to my questions, and even though she already knows, she takes the time to verify it again. I ask her to do stuff for me I could easily do myself by going online, but she does it anyway with such a sweet attitude! She always gets back to you quickly, and even notices random things because she's looking out for you. I highly recommend her! Sid is also great- however poor Yasmin has to deal with me more! What can I say. I came here because I needed an SR22. After calling what seemed like 100 agents I was lucky to find these guys. They gave me the best deal of any other agent for my SR22. After many years of being using crappy agencies and looking for the right place i finally found this place where all of my needs are being answered promptly and quickly. First I gave them my car insurance and after seeing they have an amazing service I transferred also my workers comps and business insurance too. Wandered into insurance agency due to all of these reviews and needless to say I was not disappointed. Parking was available in the back and was greeted as soon as I walked in. I have been using these guys since 2008 for all my insurance needs from car insurance to home insurance to building insurance. Most recently I have used them for notary service and to prepare a power of attorney form for me to send to another country and not only was there no charge because I am a customer of theirs but they did it so quickly in two languages. I called several places last week in need of an sr22 quote and this place provided me with the lowest rate. I first spoke with Ariel over the phone, I believe that was his name, he was very helpful and answered all of my questions. When I came in the following day to finish the process he was not available so I met Sid, I believe that was his name, he was the first to greet me when I entered the office, he was very helpful and had me out of there with my sr22 certificate within 10 minutes. The employees at this company are extremely honest and professional. I have a small bakery that is just starting out and I really didn't have the first clue about what type of insurance I would need as far as my delivery van, store or employees (for worker's comp.) I called several different insurance brokers who seemed to really be taking advantage of my lack of knowledge. A customer of mine suggested I contact Progressive United Insurance and told me to speak with Ariel. Not only did he give me the lowest price out of everyone I have called, he broke everything down for me in a way that a newbie like be could understand. He explained everything that was extremely necessary for my business, but was also honest and told me what wasn't. He even called me to check in and see how things were going a couple of weeks later. This company will treat you like family and won't make you feel overwhelmed or try to sell you on things that you will not need, while giving you the lowest prices without sacrificing the quality of your insurance. I've been using these people for years, and it's good to finally see them on Yelp. I am not the most organized person when it comes to keeping up-to-date insurance cards in my vehicles or knowing what my limits are (especially when I was applying for an umbrella liability policy). Whenever I needed some info or a replacement card, there was always a friendly person on the other end of the line, and I never had any issues. When I needed new insurance for myself, my sister, my mom or my company vehicle, I always dropped by their office on Victory, and either a guy named Ariel or a guy named Sid helped me out and made getting car insurance a simple experience. I'm not a rocket scientist or a statistician, but they clearly explained to me what each coverage item meant and what it would do for me. Also, the companies they offer coverage with are pretty reputable - I was never recommended a junk carrier to my knowledge. Regarding notary services, I think they offer those too, but I've never had a chance to use them. read more

The timing was obvious - they wanted to "inspect" so they could increase my premium. I asked Ash at Hoffman Brown Company to provide a copy of my policy and any other relevant language that obligated me to have an inspection. Ash never provided this language despite my multiple requests, and I just recently received a Notice of Nonrenewal. I am now dealing with the insurer directly to try to resolve this issue. Similar to other customers who have posted reviews here, this company makes a lot of mistakes. ADDING TO THIS REVIEW: My HO policy went from $1800 to $2,565 in just three years. Nobody from Hoffman Brown ever contacted me to flag the premium increase or to reach out and reassess my actual insurance needs. Of course I had access to the policies to determine this information, but if Hoffman Brown is not doing at least an annual review of my premium and coverage, what is the point of using them? This is a middle-man insurance company aimed at increasing your premium while providing zero services.

Such a bad experience with Ariel & Sid. I have been client of them for 10 years now, I referred many of my friends during that period, I gave them all of my business; personal and business. Six month ago I asked Sid to pause my car insurance because I left the country for about 7 months. Sid told me it's not passible and the only way to save money is the lower my policy until I came back, that way he saved me around $30 a month while I was gone. When I got back I called him to get it back on the truck, Sid replied to my request saying the insurance company raised their price and now I'll have to pay $32 more every month. I was really upset about it, what actually sid did, instead of helping me, he screwed me really hard. Sid couldn't help anymore so Ariel got involved. Ariel ask me to get a a statement showing I don't drive the car that much and he will be able to lower the payments, And so I did.... then Ariel came back to me saying we will have to replace the company in order to get a better rate. It's took him over a month to get back with me saying it's all good and I won't be charged anymore from the same company and The following month the new insurance company will charge me the bill. A month later... I texted Ariel saying I haven't received bill or statement from the new company, he ignored my messages until now, I just got another charge from the previous company, can it be ?!?!?!?!? I got promised they won't charge me anymore ! And now after dealing with it for over 4 months, still getting the same charge ! Unacceptable. Photos of our conversation will be attached later on. Progressive United has been handling my company's car insurance, general liability insurance, workers comp and bond since 2007. It is TEN years of great customer service! As a busy business owner I need someone who communicates well, takes my calls, provide problem solving answered and takes some of the daily stress off of my shoulders. For me Ariel from Progressive United is that guy and has always been since I contracted with them ten years ago for the first time. Thank you to Progressive United Insurance agency I just want to say thank you to agent Ariel Rashimi and his entire staff in the Progressive United insurance office. Throughout my time with them as my insurance provider, they have been courteous, kind and punctual in all my interactions. When I was in a car accident, they handled the insurance claims quickly and walked me all the way with it. When I moved and my car died, they worked to put me into the best (and most affordable) coverage that they could. looking for a reliable insurance company sometimes its really hard to find. Luckily for me, I have found one! a professional, reliable and trustworthy company local in the Van Nuys area. I was very happy with whom I spoke to I believe his name is "sid" he was very helpful with answering all my questions (I had a lot of them) he was very patient with me and helped me find the insurance I was looking for. I know the owners Charlee and Ariel personally and and have gotten all my insurance through them for the past several years. Terrific and honest people who will find you the best deal on insurance. Customer service is also great. I was once at the DMV and needed new insurance on the spot to complete my transaction. I called Progressive United on my cell and Ariel was able to set me up while i was standing there with the DMV rep. He emailed me all the necessary docs and i was on my way without a hitch. I definitely recommend this company to anyone, especially to those who like personal one on one service. read more

Great agency. What can I say? I walked in to the office one day and went to the first available agent. Ariel sat there and spent hours with me going through different options because finding inexpensive car insurance for a bad record is nearly nonexistent. He explained the options and coverages to me in a way that I'd understand, not like most other agents that use industry terminology. I will continue with him as long as I carry insurance on anything. My wife and I have been customers for years. Great service and even better rates. Ask for Lina, who is my agent, and always get me the best quote ever. They set up automatic payments for our home and auto insurance so there are no headaches every month. What I like the most is the fact that they always give you a courteous call when there have been any changes to the policy, privacy issues or anything else. So I had just got my car registered but they wouldn't give me my registration card without insurance. After driving around I found this place. I walked in and was seated right away. Ariel the agent really gave me the low down on what kind of insurance I needed(this is my first time). I was in and out in like 20 mins I even still had money left in the meter lol. These guys are still amazing. They most recently helped me with a worker compensation insurance issue I had with another broker. I didn't know that progressive United did workers compensation. Ariel is the best. He insures my Maserati my Lexus and does my health insurance. I've been with him for about 4 yrs. More recently he saved me close to $1,000 after my current insurance carrier raised my rates. He gave me his personal cell phone and replies to everything right away. Ive been insured with these guys since 2009. They insure all my cars including my prowler, jaguar, and ford truck. Ariel and Sid are both great at what they do and the girl is pretty easy on the eyes lol.They get a little busy sometime but they always make time for you. I needed an sr22 according to the dmv and this was the only place open. ariel hooked it up and gave me a discount. he was fast and professional i will definitely recommend him for car insurance especially if you have tickets or accidents. the price was much lower than i thought. 5 stars. read more
