I just got a new car about a week ago and I was looking for a new insurance company to start with as I haven't had much luck with this whole insurance thing in the past. Normally you deal with agents that are very rude and you almost never get the same person in the line more than once! It would be such a hassle to call the automated systems and wait on hold forever just to be treated poorly by whoever would pick up the call. Not with Upgrade! I called in and was assigned an independent agent named Rene who shopped several different companies for me and even checked out my rate with some companies that I had shown interest in. He was SUPER patient with me (I ask a lot of questions) and he also took the time to explain every little detail. It really meant a lot to deal with a rep that was so genuinely interested in his job and seemed to have my best interest as a customer. I got my insurance policy started in less than an hour. How amazing is that! All of the documents were so easy to sign and all done over email. The process was just so easy and modern. It was very surprising how pleasant of an experience I had with Upgrade. Rene was just very efficient and quick. He also gave me his direct number so I don't have to bother dealing with anyone but him which I LOVED!! No more hour long holds and rude people for me! If you need a policy asap I'd recommend to give this place a call. In this day and age you don't find people this kind and professional too often. I'm referring all my friends and family here. They saved me lots of $$$ which is amazing because, honestly, who likes to pay insurance?? Thank you Upgrade!! I received a phone call from Jesse Goens on 7/23/2012 around 6:00 P.M. regarding an online application for request of car insurance. I was informed that my premium was going to be around $1340 dollars. He then told me that I had to put a down payment of $341.48. I told him that I couldn't pay this amount and he offered that I pay $110 now and the rest on 8/3/2012. I told him that would be fine, and then he proceeded to tell me that after 1 year of insurance that my premium will go down to $1100.00 dollars for customer appreciation. We rushed through the contract so that I can get the insurance started. Later on I read through the contract and noticed broker fees; Jesse Goens never mentioned anything about broker fees. I then learned that my premium was $1100.00 and not the $1340 dollars that he told me it was. This broker lied to me from the beginning; I immediately emailed Jesse on 7/24/2012 less than 24 hours telling him to cancel the insurance, I also faxed 2 requests to customer service in writing asking to cancel the policy. 7/30/2012 I emailed Jessie again letting him know that the insurance was still active. He replied stating he received my fax and that he had already sent the request to cancel the insurance and he will send it again. On 8/17/2012 upgrade insurance ran my credit card for $0.01 and then on 8/18/2012 they ran my card for $100.00. I've been calling the company to question why my credit card has been charged when I requested them to cancel the insurance. I still haven't received any assistance. As of today 8/22/2012 I'm still having issues getting this insurance policy cancelled. read more

Fantastic hidden gem. Top insurance companies as well as their severely cheap counterparts have quoted a yearly premium of 800$-1200$+. This awesome company was able to cover me for around 500$, give or take, for an entire year. Keep in mind also that this is NOT just liability! I have to say however, this is all due to my wonderful agent Deborah Wess. She, against everything we've been conditioned to believe, was an actual joy and pleasure to do business with. She simplified everything, and made the entire process painless while only lasting 15-20 minutes max. This was the initial policy set up. I have renewed my insurance for the 3rd year in a row, and everytime I've done so by an email that takes mere minutes to compose. This company also sends me my updated policy paperwork prior to my renewal date and payment, so as not to have any lapse in proof of ins. Deborah will go above and beyond to find you any possible discounts through the best companies coverage availability. Greatest insurance experience ever. This may be a review for a certain company, but the only information you should take from this is that you deserve to have Deborah Wess as your personal agent. She will lie to you on the phone and does her best to show you the you are wrong and one of the rudest pushiest people I have ever dealt with. They will not disclose any info on their broker fee that they mysteriously put into the contract that they have you sign. It is a sneaky thing to do to their clients. They will never say anything to you over the phone about a broker fee. However, they will disclose it on the paper work you sign. Then the owner GEORGE will yell at you and tell you how stupid you are for not paying attention the paperwork that you sign. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO ANYONE! Please make sure you do your investigation on this business. They say they are here to help but they are not. They did not get me the lowest insurance rate. I didn't stop at hearing that I had too many point counts. I prayed to God and he steered me to this insurance company. It sure wasn't the devil! i just purchased my policy through these guys today and I must say, my agent Chris is amazing! I've been overpaying my insurance for over 6 months now with Geico and I couldn't be more thankful for inputting a request online for a quote and speaking to him (although i must say all the harassing and consistent phone calls from other agencies was VERY annoying). The policy he placed me on is nearly half of what I was paying before WITH additional coverage!!! i gladly paid the broker fee of $265; why wouldn't I help my agent make a little money himself when he's saving me tons on the overall price? Isn't that what he works for, to make money? i hear people complaining all the time about broker fees when in reality that's how these agents make their money; it's also in their best interest to get the client the best rate since they represent the clients, not the insurance companies. During the first week of December 2015, I was hunting for the basic auto insurance required by state law and had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Denisse Savalza at Upgrade Insurance. She was very cordial, friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. Our encounter was truly satisfactory since my rate was going to be less than what my prior regular agent had quoted. She also saved me a trip to the DMV by calling and updating them regarding my status. Even when I panicked due to having received a notification letter from the DMV, that had overlapped in the mail, Denisse assured me that her phone call to them would suffice and she was absolutely right, since I later received another letter from the DMV confirming what Denisse had said. Even though they did work somewhat hard for me they failed to tell me they were a broker and charge a broker fee for their services. I was lead to believe that the fee down payment that was charged was all for the insurance. Not a broker fee and then a down payment for the insurance company. I still found a cheaper policy than they did. I am now locked into the policy for a year and can not do anything. They are personable, but fail to give all the details. I feel that since I was not told I had to pay a broker fee that I should be refunded the broker fee, but that isn't going to happen. I am disappointed with how the process was handled. I don't like writing negative reviews but I feel more disclosure should be given rather than just told to sign this and your done. read more

I always have trouble even being insured, not only did she get me covered but I have good rates. She's been available and focused on my needs which is what inspired me to actually leave a review. Now the only bad thing I would say (and it's kind of my fault) I had my bank freeze my account while they figured out my fraud claim which cause me to miss payment resulting in a fee being charged.
