A night in Kaka'ako is always a fun place to explore, and just be entertained!…read more The Honolulu Night Market at Our Kaka'ako is indeed a fabulous adventure into the biggest street/block party filled to the brim with all things local...food, retail and culture. I've been to so many and each and every one is very unique where you can find either fashion runway stage, live street art, or even a dance night in the barn. I just love the vibe SALT and surrounding Our Kaka'ako brings with the vibrant art we're so blessed to have and this particular night (November 19th) there was actually much more shopping just perfect for the holidays and the party went further down to Ya-ya's. Tonight I was fortunate to have gone after work so I kept it short but found some awesome treats. Some straw toppers to add to my holiday gift giving and some cheesecake cups (OG, Strawberry and Cookie Butter) of course I got one of each to share...ate the Strawberry which of course omg was yummy!! Not too sweet as the Strawberries was just perfect as I tried to get an even scoop of it all in every bite. Walked further down and honestly wasn't in the mood to wait too long for anything found something that would just exactly work for me. Ya-Ya's Chophouse & Seafood and tonight they had two items - Steak Kebabs - Fat Fried Rice with TAB (aka Thick Ass Bacon lol!) I seriously wanted the fried rice but thought that the Steak Kebabs was more sensible for me personally and it came with two kebabs each fully loaded with steak, mushrooms, peppers and onions with a huge scoop of rice! So many options I really was considering including Henna from Henna Happens, Birria Tacos from Dolce Vita, Corn from Corn Onoz Hawaii but though there's always a next time yes!?! I remember pre-pandemic Yelp had a booth here and hoping as things return to normalcy that we'll see it back again one day (hint hint!) Absolutely love this Honolulu Night Market as it offers so many cultural coolness that you can't find anywhere else! Thank you!

There were only about 4-5 food trucks when I visited, and it felt small. Around 6 PM, the area had…read morevery few people. There was some live music, but it seemed more like a quick stop for tourists rather than a real night market. I didn't try any food because the atmosphere wasn't appealing, so I left quickly.

This is the 2nd time I went to MIH (Made in Hawaii) and this time was better (personally for me)…read more Here are two tips I highly recommend BEFORE you attend. 1. Plan to go later in the day I went around 2:00ish and the line to get in was only 5 minutes long. I also bought my tickets ahead time to expedite the process of getting checked in. 2. DO YOUR RESEARCH I highly recommend researching which vendors are going and what booth they will be at. Once you get that information, look at the map and make a route. Then once you hit all the places you want to go to you can explore. I feel like people get so overwhelmed from not knowing where to go.. So honestly, just research ahead of time and make your life easier!! I kind of wish they made time-slots like during COVID time to avoid overcrowding, but I guess to each their own.

I live in Hawaii, so what is the point of going to the MADE IN HAWAII Festival?…read more Right??? Took place in the Honolulu Convention Center this year. Tickets were $8/adult. Thought I'd save on online service fees by purchasing in person, but it was CARD ONLY, and still had to pay the extra fees! What's the point of having people there then? Parking wasn't available at the Convention Center. But that's okay cause even available, $15 parking fee is steep. Just park at Ala Moana and walk over. There were quite a lot of vendors, and it was crowded. The middle sections were quite tight and just not enough space for people trying to walk through, and for people who were shopping. I can't count how many times you're just stopped and waiting to go around because someone in front stopped to look (while some just stopped to talk and didn't have any consideration that they're in the middle of the aisle and in the way of everyone). Overall, it's a nice event for vendors to showcase their products, and $8 tickets is a good deal for convention center events. I purchased several items, with some I found being sold in regular stores (and for less), but discovered new products that were very good, such as the Aloha Bakehouse coffee and homemade Spicy Chili Oil from Maui.

This year after the long wait for the Farm Fair was long awaited by many locals, which turned out…read moreto a long a waited outing, bring the grandkids! A lot was disappointed of the long lines which was crazy because they had a parking lot one side pass the Kualoa beach park and another one on the the Kualoa beach park side but the lines to start to enter started all the way from the Kualoa park side by the Chinaman Hat entrance so from 1 end to the other you need to walk instead of having 1 line enter from the Kualoa Ranch entrance and 1 line from the Kualoa Beach area would have made more sense. The they cut down the seating area from 2 large tent to only 1 tent that it was packed with lots of customers waiting with there food for pretty long time for space to open up. The Farm Animal area was also cut down so the space was very cramped and less displays of different farm animals with only a few on hand that was being auctioned off only. They local product tent was about the same size and they had new local products, not many but vendors but larger displays of their products. The Inflatables area was pretty large with lots of different kinds of inflatables for the kids which was good. The horse riding area was very busy looked like the entrance to get into the fair, but the dedicated parents braved the hot sun and long lines and waited. Hope they change the way they handled this years fair, because hear a lot of disgruntled customers from the entrance and eating areas! Yes we need to support our local farmers, which by the showing of the customers that came to the fair, but to keep them coming hope they made improvements on handling the arrival and seating areas for dining and some of the exhibits of farm animals. Potable toilet only and none outside with the long lines waiting to get in?

How it's the same but NOT the same lol. Like every one else you have power cards and gone are the scrips. My favorite ride I still the zipper. Now coming from a father perspective.....aka wallet.....WOOF lol. $9 parking, rides and games are few bucks or more per person. Food is a whooping $15-20+ per meal lol. A Hundo $$ don't last very long......and I only have my wife and son. We had the gyro and waffle fries, forget the spots name....but that was delicious. . Greet job to all you parents with more kids, haha. However being able to see the utter joy, excitement, and fun my son had on that evening makes it all worth it..........BUT not again until next year haha.

So it's 200 points for $20 and 1500 points for $100. All rides average 30points and that's only because Sunday 12n-6pm is at a discount. It could be more in the evening. Compared to long time ago there's less rides and game booths. The pre-paid cards is also good for games and food booths . They do not except any cash at the game booths anymore. It was a new experience for me but I guess it's easier that way plus more efficient. It was very hot on a Sunday afternoon but my grand nephew had fun that's the main thing . We also had pizza and cotton candy to bring home . I guess due to Covid19 it's hard to maintain workers so EK Fernandez have to go on a smaller scale carnival. It was smaller than I could remember way back when . Support local so they can still be in business
