In addition to being the office of over 40 nonprofits, it also has meeting space available for other nonprofits to use (you do not have to be a tenant). I've been to meeting here sponsored by Tech Networks of Boston, Women in Development (fundraising), The Communications Network, Public Relations Society of America, and Third Sector New England. The event space is great, but my one warning is to triple check the microphones with the nonprofit center events staff if you have speakers. About half the times I've been to events there, audio problems occurred, so I always sit in the front to be sure I can hear. I'm jealous of the employees of the nonprofits in this building! Then I came across The NonProfit Center - after my initial inquiry I was contacted by Faisal and literally everything was smooth sailing from there! I took a look at the space and it was perfect, they were available the date I needed, and the price was right. Faisal answered all of my (many) questions and kept in touch to make sure there was nothing else I needed. FFF solicits surplus or leftover food from local restaurants and farmers that would otherwise go to waste. FFF daily delivers this food to the needy people that need it usually within 24 hours of it being donated. FFF is a great nonprofit that does great things. I volunteered here once and helped them build a huge walk in refrigerator. Bravo to this fine local charity.

I can't remember who said it but on the back of all their trucks reads: "When I feed the poor, they call me a saint; When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a communist." More Than Words is a nonprofit bookstore that sells new and used books while supporting young…read morepeople ages 16-24 who are system-involved, including youth from foster care, court-involved backgrounds, housing insecurity, and more. The young people help run the store, learn job skills, and work toward personal and career goals--and it truly shows in the care and pride behind the space. The shop itself is small but mighty. I walked out with four excellent-condition used books (three of which had already been on my TBR list) and somehow also added two cookbooks because... no regrets. Everything was very affordable, and it felt good knowing my purchase was directly supporting youth in the local community. If you're near one of their locations (I believe there's another in the Boston area), I highly recommend stopping in or checking out their online storefront. My wife got an oatmilk vanilla mocha latte and I went crazy (like I usually do at a coffee place) and got a cinnamon roll latte. It was literally a liquid cinnamon roll in coffee form. You could smell it through the lid! Matthew was very patient with us trying to decide! What was the best part, was that the coffee was ready to drink when we got it. So we didn't have to walk with a full cup of coffee for 20 minutes until it was sippable. I know many may not like that but it our case, it was perfect and very much welcomed!

I was previously a member of the Junior League of Greenwich, CT and upon relocation to Boston I transferred membership to the JLB; the Boston-based League has a fantastic transfer committee who welcomes new members with open arms. All of the women I've met so far have been kind, open-minded and genuinely passionate about the mission of the Junior League to meaningfully contribute to the Boston community. Great storytelling about revolutionary events, like the Boston Massacre, and the Boston Tea Party. He also helped debunk the Paul Revere story and gave credit to the riders that actually helped alert the town. Navigating the car noise, traffic signals, and competing tour groups was tricky in the sometimes-narrow cobblestone streets, so he deserves credit for keeping the group intact. He was also one of only a couple of tour guides that actually dressed the part (Nathaniel was his ancestor), which was a significant bonus in bringing the storytelling to life. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining. Highly recommend asking for Captain Nathaniel, aka Matt!
